I like Android OS for application compatibility and with 1 gig lan port is great because other devices have 100mb and if you use a vpn it’s just that much slower. The 4K movies look great and 5.1 audio has no issue. If you reboot the shield once week you should have no issues.

Best electronic investment ever we own two. no need for cable anymore it pays for itself. Good wireless internet recommended.

I’ve tried them all and this is the most reliable and quickest. Replaced an Apple TV and An Amazon box. Happy with the call.

Not as good as a Roku but it does it job, wit the added gaming portion of its content. Not so much media content, but ease of use works well.

Odd, but it's still missing HDR in both YouTube and Google Play movies. It's the flagship android TV device, and doesn't support Google's streaming services? Shame that one device can't quite yet do it all (whether you need it to or not).

Mainly use this for netflix and hulu. Het the remote well with the extra cost. No batteries all rechargeable. Picture quality is almost as good as my led tv. This is being used on a 12 year old LCD tv. Need to use a decent quality HDMI cable. Made a night and day difference.

I wanted to use the product for a while before I left a review. It works really well, I only use it to watch movies so I’m not sure what it’s like to play games on. It’s fast and does everything you want it to do. I’m extremely happy with it. Would highly recommend this android box it’s definitely worth the money.

I bought this as the Sony Android TV was not giving me the surround sound capabilities that I was after. I bought this to give me the same Android OS but with 4K and HDR. It is amazing. It's super fast compared to the inbuilt Android OS on the Sony TV and the games, although I didn't buy it for that purpose, are pretty great as well.

This item is all that and a bag of chips. I would recommend this to anyone. Way better than paying the high cost of cable.

Love it. Easy setup. Some guidance from the Internet for loading certain applications, but not difficult. Highly recommend.

This is great for cordcutters. I'm able to watch & record live tv on a 2nd television without purchasing a second antenna

Great streaming box and if you're into games, PC and Android, this is the streamer for you. If you're just looking for a streaming box, you can get away cheaper. This thing is very powerful and it can stream 4k HDR content. It supports HDR10 and Dolby vision. You can easily expand the storage on the 16gb version with a USB 3.0 stick.

I have used Roku, Fire TV, and other devices to do my streaming from, but this device blows them all out of the water. This thing is so fast and supports all the TV and audio formats that you can't go wrong. Some may flinch at the price, but in the end it is well worth the cost.

Loving this! The gaming is top notch, and the UI is speedy and very responsive. I love that you can also play STEAM games. Hookup is extremely easy. I’ve stopped paying for cable. I even take this on trips to make hotel TVs infinitely more entertaining. (This is the second one I’ve bought.)

this is the best streaming device i have. gets updates and my other 2 devices do not so in a few years the will be junk.

I bought the Shield as an upgrade to both my Fire TV Stick and my Roku 3, and it is definitely an upgrade to both units, and I haven't even used the gaming side of it yet. Everything is better, picture quality, sound quality, and no buffering. I believe it to be the best available system at this time.

The SHIELD is a great media streamer—the 4K HDR output looks incredible, and controlling playback with a remote is preferable to using a phone. As a gaming device, the SHIELD is surprisingly capable. GeForce Now with Steam integration is intriguing, but I don't know if it's something I'd pay to use.

I am not much of a gamer, but still love this box for all it's streaming capabilities. The built in Plex Media server is really nice, but don't expect the same performance you would get on a PC. I opted for the model without the built in hard drive. This makes it smaller and it can be hooked up very easily to any USB storage.
