We love our Nvidia Shields (We currently own 2 with plans to purchase a third). After cutting the cord from Directv, we originally went with the MiBox by Xiaomi. This was ok, but we wanted something better so we went with the Roku. We liked the Roku interface and it was very easy to use, but we had so many problems with the remotes not working that it became unbearable so we decided to spend the extra money for the Nvidia Shield and we have not been disappointed. It works very fast and very smooth. And the gaming is incredible. It's like we have an extra ps4 or xbox built into our Shield. If you are a casual tv watcher and don't play games, then you might be better off saving money and going with one of the less expensive options. But if you want the best experience in cord cutting, and if you enjoy gaming, then this beast is what you want.

Better than Apple TV and is super compact and easy to use great to use with kodi as well

I looked at several streaming boxes and YouTube videos. Comparison video had Firestick as the lowest of low and the Nvidia shield as the top rated box on the market by a long shot!!! Searched different areas all over the net and found out that bestbuy matched the lowest price, even Amazon's price. So I decided to get the Nvidia shield from bestbuy along with geek squad 2 year warranty. Great decision!!!

The speed of this device and the video output looks very good. The only thing I can complain about is the price. 199.99 is a little steep. But the remote and the control are very responsive

I wanted the best streaming andoid box available and the Nvidia Sheild 16 GB does not dissapoint. The processor is super fast and does a great job downloading apps and games quickly. The streaming performance is flawless with great video quality. The additional cost over a regular android box is definitely worth it. Just add a 128 GB flash drive for an external storage boost and you've got it made.

This Android box has the power that you need to watch shows without buffering very smooth. Also the fact that you can play games on. It is a great extra. Easy to start using right out of the box. And the size and styling of the Nvidia shield is very nice.

nVidia Shield TV is easy to use and no laggging. Price is little expensive but ok during Black Friday sales. It's easy to use, only complain is no voice cable on the remote, only on the controller. Will buy again for 2nd room when it goes on sales again.

I was looking at different streaming devices. Wasn't a big fan of Amazon Fire TV and had issues with my Roku. Decided to pay the extra money to upgrade to a Shield and I love it. It's very fast, streams everything I need it do and does a great job playing games.

It is probably the best streaming device I have used so far. I have an amazon fire tv, roku premiere +, and now a nvidia. The Roku was had the most stable app, but it does not let you customize the app as much as the other devices. The amazon fire tv works well if you have amazon prime. Apps are limited to the App Store unless you sideload, and even then they may not work. The nvidia has a full version of android. It come with the google play store on the device. It also has the amazon video app on it with most android tv devices do not. In addition to the play store, you can add apps from other stores than the play store, I added amazon underground. You can YouTube how to put it on the device. The price for the device it a bit more than the other streaming devices but it comes with both a remote and a game pad. In addition the the nvidia shield is much faster than its competitors.

We like this much better than the Fire stick. Much faster and easy to use.

i have to say im super impressed by this device. it's made well from the remote to the controller. i even bought the stand which is not some cheap plastic. it looks great, feels great. runs super smooth and fast. i would highly recommend this to anyone. this is a must have to be your main android tv box. definitely out beats any other device and worth the price tag.

Relatively expensive compared to some models. It is as good as any Android TV device. You can download numerous Android Apps for streaming movies and TV. Game streaming does require a fast internet, but the quality of the games is amazing. I take this where ever I travel and hook it up to any TV. it's the best cord-cutting cable TV device I have purchased.

This is a thousand times better than the firestick! Do yourself a favor and buy this product: lighting fast speed, view thousands more and at a better quality!

Very easy to set up and user friendly; android system is fast and reliable. Good for watching movies with netflix , amazon or google play, works flawlessly with kodi 17.4 krypton. If you are into games this is for you with the nvidia card whole lot of experience with the rich content. Comes with the remote as well as the rechargeble game controller...

I've used Roku, Shield, Apple, and a couple Smart TV interfaces, and the Shield is by far the best. It's super fast and the integration between different services (youtube, netflix, plex) is actually pretty good. Unlike Amazon or others, they aren't trying to always sell you on a streaming service or goods to buy. I LOVE the Roku, but it's a bit slow and dated compared to the Shield. Having said all that, I returned mine. 2 reasons. First, I had everything down to 1 remote. Sound bar, TV, Shield. 1 remote turned it on, changed the volume and changed movies/channels. It was GREAT, but then an update broke everything, and i got super mad. Second, the Shield does not do Dolby Vision. It does HDR and Dolby Atmos over TrueHD fine, but really the industry is in flux right now, and there's a lot of limitations that will shake out in the next year. If you're trying to decide what to buy right now, i'd really suggest waiting until next year. more TVs will have HDR, and most should be compatible with HDR+ or Dolby Vision or whatnot. For sound, eARC should be more available, and that will solve the issues with ARC not having enough bandwidth for all the HD sound formats. Hopefully by then nVidia will put out a new Shield that actually has volume buttons (instead of touch) and a power button on the remote.

Beautiful 4k movies Very easy to setup and use User friendly

I’ve have experience with Apple, amazon, Roku,and generic android box. The key difference this has power to make things run smooth. The only thing I don’t use much cause it’s just not my thing personally is the gaming aspect. It’s there but I’m not really reviewing that portion. If you want to stream and have it do it all for entertainment of shows, and movies then this will work fantastic, One small thing I would like done differently is it should have physical volume button. I can pair my Bose wireless headphones no problem. This makes it worth it for me.
