I have several 4k smart tv's spread out through out my house and have a couple of Chromecast's, a firestick and just picked up this Nvidia shield 16gb this is amazing and is a complete different experience than the others there's the play store with many apps, I tried to buy the less expensive model but only had this one in stock that came with a game controller I'm kinda glad it did too there are many apps that I use regularly that aren't available in the included play store but I found that if I download the apk to a flash dive I can sideload it and launch the app using their game controller. I have my swann security system on it my guardzilla camera, speedtest and many others it has 2 usb ports so my plan is to pick up a stubby 256gb and set for storage and the other port for sideloading apps, the shield also picks up my other PC's on network and will allow me to set up network storage. The image quality, streaming and speed of this is amazing, kodi also works awesome too

The Nvidia shield is in my opinion not only the best set top box but the box streaming player available with one catch. It's kind of expensive at 200$ but it's well worth it. The beauty of the shield is that it can double as a casual gaming machine with some serious graphics power don't expect to throw out your ps4 though. The included controller is nice performance is the best of any set tip box I've seen. Be sure to get a compatible USB flash drive to expand the memory if you get the 16gb model though as it's definitely not enough for games. With access to hulu Netflix amazon video and even kodi with 4k hdr support there's no better box available.

I primarily purchased this for streaming from My tv and to do a little gaming.It has been great for both purposes.

I love this gadget. I am running 2 of these units for streaming video from the Internet. I have XUMO, TUBI, KODI, Netflix, Amazon Prime, and Pluto working and all work great. I rarely use the game controller and rarely play games on it but I have played Diablo 3 through it linked to my computer via the Nvidia game link and its awesome. I bought 2 more of these for my kids and they love them. This is still the best of the best for streaming boxes, don't waste your money buying something else.

Playing games, screen mirroring, streaming videos and music, access to the google play store, high resolution output, and compact. Worth the money

I had a Nexus Player before this which worked great for Youtube, Netflix and few other streaming services but in other cases I was blaming the streaming service for poor quality and lag. That is until I upgraded to Shield TV. Same streaming services are working in full hd quality without any lag. Performance has been excellent since switching to Shield. I highly recommend Shield for all Android TV users. You will not regret the performance upgrade this gives. My only issue has been with the remote. Sometimes it takes 20-30secs for the remote to respond. I know it's not the Shield as the device is responsive to the remote app on my phone. I am hearing that this is no longer an issue with the new remote released in 2019. I ordered one of those but for the masses, I hope NVIDIA addresses the lag in original remote that shipped with this version.

This with hdhomerun, channels dvr app, an attic antenna and networked 4 tuner hdhome device is the ultimate. Great speed, picture quality, and skipping commercials. It the kind of magic I experienced when using a Tivo for the first time. I cut the cord with directv. This setup rocks. I supplement with youtube tv for cable stations but there's no comparison to the the OTA setup. Hdhomerun carries the cable channels and those channels integrate with the channels dvr app. I will likely sign up for that service once my google tv subscription is up for renewal.

I really like this box. I want to love it, but it has a couple of wrinkles. The good stuff: Fast, streams almost anything, infinitely customizable, great image/sound quality. I use it primarily to stream Netflix, Amazon, and HBO now to a 55" Vizio 4k P-series. I also run a plex server on it, using an attached WD 4TB drive for storage, but also stream from my primary Plex server in the house. It's connected via 802.11 AC and the throughput is more than adequate to pull 4k streams from the plex server in house as well as UHD from external sources (gig fiber internet). Cons: Yamaha soundbar attached connected via arc on the tv cuts out constantly when scrubbing or pausing, have to pause/unpause again, or power cycle the yamaha to restore audio. This was not a problem with the smartTV software in the Vizio, an XBOX one, nor with a Roku Streaming Stick+. That said, it's the best streaming box I've used.

Better than built in apps , stand alone system are better than the cheaper sticks and built in apps. You will just run into less problems running multiple apps. This one had a controller a big plus and older (flat) controller that’s not as good as the updated Shelid (triangle) controller which I recommend . This is overall better than Apple TV , the Roku non stick it’s debatable in terms of streaming , in gaming Sheild is much better.

This device is awesome, it is so much faster than any software built in to the TV's and it is powerful, I use it with plex and everything loads very quickly. Nvidia game-stream is awesome and works pretty smoothly if you have a wired Ethernet connection.

Definitely a great device for streaming. Really, countless apps available for Android TV that enable this to be the one-stop shop for content streaming and game play. I've tried Roku, Apple TV, TiVO, and this beats them all. Easy setup (especially for Android phone users). I like it so much, I bought three of them for our various rooms. The only thing I would change is the remote. I wish it had a separate buttons for volume up/down. The slide "surface" that is used to control volume and mute at the bottom-middle of the remote is pretty wonky.

Get most of the streaming apps you want, without the slowdowns of many other streaming boxes. It is also great for games, and if you have a Nvidia Graphics card, you can use your PC to game from your couch,

This TV box is excellent, I can install most of Android apps, I haven't tested the gaming feature, I am not a gamer. I bought this box mainly to watch youtube and Kodi, it streams great, no delay, no pause during streaming, I have fast internet 250Mbps. The picture quality is great as I expected. This box is almost $200 (Bestbuy has great competitive price $179 before tax), but you paid for the quality, other cheap Android TV boxes can't compare with this one. I did not want to pay for the 500Gb version because I watch movie from my USB thumb drive.

This is the best android box available. You can stream just about anything, from Kodi to music and games also. You can also run NES, SNES, and Sega emulators, all free. Forget about buying other consules you can do it all with this Android TV box.

This is by leaps and bound the best Android Box you can buy. Performance, ease of use, Gaming, streaming video, it does all very well. Highly recommend!

I bought the first one, and now this. They are exceptional, but I wish nvidia did something far beyond the find one can do. Instead they omitted a few things and make this a little cooler, but this device itselt is really good in my opinion.

I owned a firestick and hated the lag and buffering when watching movies....so I needed a change and searched other options and everyone was raving on the Nvidia Shield...I purchased it and thrilled with the choice...no lag or buffering

This is the best streamer I have ever used. Very fast and sleek looking. Will make a great addition to any entertainment center. A bonus is the Android software and the ability to stream your PC games on to another room in your home
