Customers frequently mention the ease of use and smaller size as significant advantages. However, many users experienced issues with Kinect sensor recognition, calibration difficulties, and inconsistent tracking, particularly impacting gameplay. Some found the zoom feature insufficient and reported problems with maintaining consistent player detection. Overall, the product's effectiveness seems highly dependent on individual setup and calibration success.

does exactly what its suppose to do. goes on the kinect very easily,
just follow the instructions. installed mine in seconds no hassles or scratches. make sure the zoom is perfectly lined up with the kinect lenses, at first it wasnt catching real good then i saw that the zoom was a little to the right, so i carefully moved it to the left and aligned it so the lenses line up, and it works fine ever since!

My wife uses Kinect for exercising, but our living room is just a bit too small. We have to move our coffee table for her to use it. But when we saw this at Best Buy, it really caught our eye. So we bought it and I was surprised at how easy it was to install. More importantly, after our first test we were very pleased with the results. Nothing more to be said other than the fact that it works as advertised. Very happy. And the color blends in so much that you hardly notice it's on the Kinect.

Cool when it wants to work. Save your money.

The zoom failed to recognize the room's floor during calibration. During game play, it would not see the player about half the time, even though I could see myself in the camera. Good idea, but for as buggy as it is, it's not worth the money. Could play from about 6 feet away when it wanted to work. Save your money or wait for this thing to drop under $10. If microsoft could have designed the Kinect to work from 4 feet away, don't you think they would have?

When I saw the zoom I thought this should work great with the Kinect which is down in the basement. I wanted to use it so I did not have to move a coffee table that was in front of the sofa. After installing the zoom the Kinect could not pick up the floor, which is burgundy color carpet. It also distorted when you looked at the picture in box that shows the thermo image of yourself. Since I literally had to tear the box open to get the zoom out I could not return it. I ended up donating it to the Salvation Army.

The product worked for me long as you have the proper light a lot of reviews for this product is bad...but I think the blame lies on Microsoft they should make the kinect more compatible for smaller rooms and different light settings so we would not need such products .

This product is not good and does not work. I should have listened to all the other people on this review but decided to go with it. I installed it correctly and even though it brings a plastic so it doesn't scratch your kinect it did not work. It completely scratched my kinect. I placed my kinect at the top, bottom and even sides of my TV but does not make a difference. It actually made it worse. This is by far a waste of money. Good thing there is a return policy.

Nice Thought. However, Nyko falls short again!!!

Does work in a sense. It zooms you in so you can play in a smaller space. However it majorly distorts the mapping image for the kinect to see your movements and makes it really hard for the kinect to seperate you from your environment. Therefore, kinect reacts very poorly to your limb movement and it becomes very aggravating when you constantly lose and do motions seven times just to get it to register once. EPIC FAIL!!!

The Zoom does what it says it will. It made playing my Kinect 10x more enjoyable. My apartment does not have a lot of living room space, and prior to the Zoom, I had to move my couch, and I would still be so close to the wall behind me. But now with the Zoom, I don't have to move the couch and have much more room to play.
I have not experienced the complaints others are writing about. I used the protective sheet, and the Zoom actually clicks into the correct grooves. I followed the directions given, and everything was fine.

i did have high hopes for this product cause, i have a small room to play the kinect in.
-The Zoom does increase the field of view for the kinect but also shortens the length.
-Works better if the kinect is placed higher.
-But for taller people over 6' it has a hard time seeing your whole body down to your feet. and doesnot increase field of view by much.
-The read on you to the game character is choppy at times and from my opinion. it is better to just move a couch or furnishing then to spen $30 on this attatchment!

I installed the zoom. It seemed ok but everyonce in awhile it wouldnt track the hand if off to the side and didnt seem as accurate without.
I went to remove the zoom and realized it scratch the front of my kinect up from install. Granted all I did was line it up and pop it on. I move it slightly to line up the sensors. I was very careful....yet now the Zoom has scratched up the kinect. I am ticked.

Zoom makes you invisible

My apartment is long, but only about 16 feet wide, and I'm tall, so when I use the Kinect, it often can't see my arms if I raise them above my head. The Zoom does "zoom you out", but in doing so it disipates the infrared light the Kinect bathes you in for the 3D tracking, so the infrared light that is supposed to bounce off you and back to the Kinect is so weak that the Kinect can't see you if you are more than two feet aware from the sensor. So, after buying the Zoom, I've gone from being too close to the Kinect, to being not close enough. I have a friend that bought one and has the exact same problem.

The concept sounds great... If you have a small room, place this over the lens on your Kinect and it will function must better in smaller spaces. But it doesn't quite work all that well... I followed all directions but still had a hard time getting it to adjust right so that my Kinect worked correctly... I just ended up taking it off... Kind of a waste of money.

I'm glad I got this add on. Worked well for me. Cut down on some of the space needed for Kinect and does not distort pictures taken during gameplay such as in Kinect Sports like I thought it might.

I really wanted this thing to work - Tried calibrating 3 times from the calibration menu and also within several games - never worked. It couldn't track movements accurately at all. It was so bad that I couldn't even do basic menu selections. Returned promptly! Buyers beware! The people that say it works probably haven't really tried to use it yet!

My theater room is long and narrow. We would have to move the furniture before getting the nyko zoom to play kinect. Now, the entire room is in view. Works great! Very simple instructions on how to attach to the kinect sensor. I purchased when the zoom was on sale, but would have gladly pay full price for it. Also, it blends in perfectly with the kinect sensor. It is not some ugly thing that changes the look of the kinect.

Nice idea to not have to move furniture. But it plain doesn't work. It ruins the tracking. The area that you can play in becomes very small.
Worst of all it is very difficult to get out of the box so it will be tough to return. Do not recommend this item at all.

Absolutely horrible item that not only did not work, but gouged the face of my Kinect attempting to get it to calibrate. Does not track people well, and was virtually unusable. And now my Kinect that is less than a week old looks beat up. I am SO MAD!

I've gone through all the tips in the troubleshooting section. But it just does not track well. It very jumpy and loses where you are. I was really hoping this would work as well as advertised but right now, it's a huge disappointment. Save your money guys and just keep on moving that furniture to play two players. This is far from the salvation for us small apartment dwellers.
