moderately amusing
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This was an ok movie, probably not one I'd watch multiple times but it was ok. Music was really good if you like that type.

Quirky Southern Odyssey
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Quirky southern version to Homer's Odyssey. Durning steals the show.

It’s not very good.
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Back in 2000 when this movie was new, I thought it looked stupid. It was worse than I expected. I had been reading a lot of good things about this movie so I finally picked it up at a good price; but it was pretty much unwatchable. Not easy to get through it.

Boring
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Uninteresting and boring story. Seemed like the movie would never end. All the funny parts were not funny. Best part of the movie was when it was over.

One of my favorits..
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is one of my favorite movies. The description provides a good over view and should confirm it's got a great cast who all do a wonderful job. Clooney is fantastic as a sometime ne'er do-well in this loose interpretation of Homer's Odyssey. I have more respect for him in every movie he makes. He has truly turned out to be a fine actor. On another note, John Goodman does a great job as a rather loathsome character - Big Dan Teague. This, again very loosely, fulfills the role of Polyphemus, the Odyssey's cyclops. all the characters are here, you just have to put them together. Don't forget the Soggy Bottom Boys too! A musical treat! Highly recommended! Enjoy!

We...thought...you...was...a...toad!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is one of the best movies I have ever seen, period...not only because it's from the Coen brothers! Inspired by Homer's Odyssey and set in Depression-era Mississippi, with a dash of Three Stooges, it's a work of genius! Hilarious, and filled with a rich subtext, great performances, and one of the greatest soundtracks I have ever heard, this one is a timeless classic!
