Avoid Paying More for Home Phone

The Obihai Google Voice Internet Phone Modem has proven to be a godsend as it has allowed me to use my FAX machine, and use Google Voice (a FREE Google service!) to add a home phone line, all without paying the cable company more for theirs, all by adding it to the gateway. Now, it does take a bit of configuring in the dashboard with your computer or smartphone to make it work. Another great thing about this is that you can use ethernet out to connnect to game consoles or another computer. I highly recommend this device!

Very Powerful Device In A Small Package

I have been using the Obi202 for 6 months now and I have been highly impressed with the potential of this tiny device. Not only can it connect you to 4 internet telephone service providers, it can also act as a mini-PBX and allow you to connect to it via internet or 4G when you are away from it's location. The current ability for it to connect to Google Voice is nice (not after May 2014 based on Google TOS notice) and there are many other low cost service providers out there that you can use. While the device itself is well designed,, Obihai support could use a little improvement but fortunately there are lots of helpful volunteers on the Obitalk forum that will help talk you through common problems. So if you have some tech abilities I say go for this device, if you want something you just plug in and enter a few pieces of info to get going then perhaps you should look at an Ooma device or Vonage.

I bought the OBi202 to use Google Voice as my home phone service. It is a very easy set up through OBi Talk and it works great. If Google Voice could provide names along with caller ID numbers, it would be near perfect. No phone bill! There is a second phone port so I could add a fax line or second provider. I highly recommend this product.

This is a great little product. i bought it to replace my PhonePower provided router, and save tons compared to leasing the router from PhonePower. So far so good. Setup on obitalk was easy and get it provisioned with PhonePower was even easier.

I bought the device after seeing the positive reviews. I'm happy to say that the OBI202 works very well. The setup was very easy and I now can make and receive free phone calls through Google Voice. People that I call are unable to distinguish the connection from a landline telephone.

I bought the Obihai to convert my home landline to VoIP via google voice. My family have been paying for the landline number for over 20+ years and it is not longer our main line since we all have cell phones. So to reduce monthly expense, we converted our landline to google voice and use this device to use on our home cordless phones. It reduces our monthly expense by $50 per month. Totally worth the money! Go get it!

I had the obi202 setup in seconds!! If you continuously get the "Cannot Configure Device", you might be able to fix that with using another browser. This takes me around less than 5 minutes to setup. The best thing about the obi202 is that it also have a lan port so that I can use it to connect to my pc, allowing me to have more ports for connection. Now I am able to use my "landline" phone number for free, saving $30/month! Highly recommended to everyone!

The price is a little high but it is worth it. It was very easy to install. I didn't spend much time at all. All I needed to do was to follow the instruction and logged onto the obi web site. We bought this one that could support two different phone numbers. We are only using just one. We don't need a second number. You may want to buy the cheaper version if you just need one number.

All phone calls are clear and perfect quality. I make a lot of international phone calls and you can’t tell the difference. It is pretty easy to connect the box with Google Voice.

    Great for a fax line.

Requires Internet. Love the unit. I had at&t land line service and the prices for it seemed ...dumb. I was comparing the the Obihai and the magic jack. With magic jack reviews were either 100% loved or 100% hate. At the end their seemed to be more support help available for the Obihai online and it had more options. I had to transfer my at&t service to t-mobile prepaid and then transfer to google voice. After that I was able to set up the unit with step by step guide that I found online. After changing some settings and adding my google account to the box. I was up and running. The service works fine and I haven't had an issue in 3 months. The extra cost was buying a t-mobile sim card and temporary service for about $20 and porting to google was another $20; so about one month of at&t service. NOTE: Google Voice does not do 911 services. I you want 911 emergency services you have to use another service. This unit has the ability to have two services at the same time. I use this as a dedicated fax line. I have no issues with faxes but I do have a fax that is VoIP compatible. I also like that if I'm going to be in another office or at home for a week I can unplug it, go to the other place, plug it in and my fax line is up and running at the other location in about 2 minuets.

We use this adapter with Anveo. It works flawlessly. Haven't had any problems. Once setup, you can forget that it is there.
