The movie had a new twist where you are seeing the past along with the present and as you go back and forth you get more interested in knowing what happened and thats when the fear takes in more and more.

Oculus is a movie that does almost everything right. I wasn't aware of the details of the plot prior to seeing the film, and experiencing it in that manner allowed it to completely blow me away. Rather than relying on gore and jump scares, the filmmakers build up tension and dread from the beginning through the very satisfying ending. I really don't want to spoil anything about the film, so all I can say is that Oculus is absolutely worthy of joining any horror fan's collection. Also includes the original short film that inspired the film.

Normally I don't buy flciks in this genre as I don;t think they hold up well when re-watching them down they road. However, I thought this was very well done and will hold up. Without throwing out any spoilers I thought it was well crafted and a unique way that the "Occulus" worked in. They stayed within the boundries of that story-telling realm and thus didn't create a bunch of unexplainable plot gaps. This is a good horror flick that I will watch again and would recommend as well (especially if you can get it on sale!!!).

So this movie will make you wonder whats going on a few times but overall it is really good. Should for sure check it out.

Loved this movie! It's been a while since I've seen a great suspenseful mind bending movie!! Made me thing and I couldn't tell what reality was and what they were just imagining! Love this movie!

While this movie was presented as a horror flick, it is more of a thriller. I usually don't buy these types of movies because once you have seen it, you don't really need to see it again, but this one is different. I had walked out of the movie theater trying to figure it out and immediately wanted to watch it again. If you like movies like the Sixth Sense or other psychological thrillers, this is a good movie (the acting is also decent. You have to love James Lafferty from One Tree Hill and Karen Gillan from Selfie).

Atmospheric thriller that delivers the goods! More suspenseful, than horrific Oculus offers some chilling moments and is an excellent entry in the ghost story genre.

Oculus wasn't a bad film, the original idea was pretty different, however, movie became somewhat predictable. Few flinch / jump out your seat scenes, but nothing too bad.

Although it isn't a perfect movie, Oculus is definitely one of the better horror movies to come out in a while. I would recommend if you enjoy this kind of stuff.

I love this movie! It totally messes with your mind (because it shows the past and present at the same time). I recommend this movie to anyone who wants to be puzzled.

A few friends of mine told me about this movie so following the hype I purchased it, it has a good story line however I found the sister character highly annoying lol

someone recently told me about this movie & when I saw it on sale for $6.99 I took a chance, and man did it pay off...the premise of the movie sounds a bit cheesy (a haunted mirror) so I expected it to be filled with dumb ghosts & scares, etc. instead it was a psychological movie that had you questioning what was real & what wasn't the whole way thru...can't recommend this one enough!!!

I've heard a lot of complaints about the jumping around from real to imagined in this movie but I thought it worked well. Keeps you guessing throughout.

One of the best horror movies that I have seen in recent years! This film is sure to creep you out. The flashbacks and cut scenes towards the end may become a bit much, but all it really means is that you have to watch it a second time to catch what you missed the first time around : ) The film is worthy of the horror genre and is up there with contemporary hits such as The Conjuring, Insidious, and House of the Devil.

The film was rather suspenseful and had a few twists along the way. While it did have a slow build up, the character development was well worth it.

This movie keeps the viewer glued to the seat with tense, intelligent plotting and a hair-raising finale. Almost as good as a Hitchcock thriller.

This movie was more original than many of the remakes and knockoffs out there. Had several good moments that made everyone jump. Worth watching!

Wasn't sure what to expect with this movie, thought it would be pretty good and I wasn't disappointed. Glad to add it to my collection.

For all the different scare me movies out there, this was a rather enjoyable movie to watch. Looks fantastic on Blu-ray as well.
