Customers enjoy the immersive VR experience and the comfortable design of the Rift Headset, frequently praising its lightweight feel and intuitive touch controllers. However, some users point to the lower resolution and resulting screen door effect as drawbacks, while others mention occasional motion sickness and compatibility issues with certain games or hardware. The available content library is also a point of contention for some customers. Despite these shortcomings, many appreciate the headset's overall performance and value for the price.

I have owned and worked with the oculus dk2 for two years and finally purchased the specially priced Rift and Touch bundle. What a great value and a great surprise in how much more the Rift with Touch provides an immersive VR experience. Find a demo, or a friend who has one then you will know you must jump on this special bundle price ($399 as of this review) before the price goes back up. IT'S A BLAST!!

So much better than VR with a phone. The touch controllers make the experience. Get it.

For an immersive experience, this is the device. Came in a package with all controllers. Fair amount of VR games to choose from. Many are free and fun to play.

Bought the Virtual I/O i-Glasses Personal 3D Viewer long time ago (want to say 20 years). It was not what I expected. It looked like an 80" screen 15 feet away with some 3D. Head tracking was via serial port and slow. So did a lot of reading and testing out both Vive and Oculus. Very happy with the Oculus, It is what I expected and wanted 20 years ago. Game play and tracking is amazing. Im in my 40's and feel like an teen gamer again. Been a long time since I have had fun with video games. Robo Recall with 2 and 4 sensors is so much fun! Still have the old I/O VR, will have to take it out of its box to show the kids what we had back in my day. :)
TiP: If you are going room scale 3 or 4 sensors (PURE AWESOMENESS!). Make sure the USB 3.0 ports are on different chips and have the amps (Watts) to run them more then 10 feet apart. Recommend 2 sensors per USB chip set.
So if you have 4 USB ports then only place two of them as the power and bandwidth is divided per device.
- Also getting an Powered USB Hub for your Keyboard, mouse, and other peripherals will help.

If you have used VR with your phone, the Oculus Rift is definitely a step up. If you have a computer capable of running the Oculus Rift, now is the time to buy. With the price point of $400 including the Touch controllers, the purchase is a no brainer.

This headset provides a new experience to gaming which immerses the player into the action and truly provides complete interaction. There is quite a bit of setup involved; however, the system works exceptionally well once you adjust all the settings. Additionally, I have had nothing but positive interactions with the Oculus support team. They immediately responded to my support Tickets and were very accommodating to help answer all of my questions.

I've been waiting for this to be available as a consumer product since I first read about the Rift in 2012. I'm an avid flight simulation enthusiast and a believer in the immersive VR experience. The Rift works well for VR provided your computer meets the minimum specs as outlined by Oculus. If possible, spring for the Nvidea GTX 1080.
I wish the Rift CV-1 had higher resolution but that should come in future generations as the technology evolves.

This thing is great. If you have Samsung Gear or Cardboard please don't compare the expedience is order of magnitude better. With the touch controllers you have the ability to interact with the space and experience a Virtual Environment, My Son loves this and the learning and experience are well worth the price. I will say don't bother buying if you don't buy the Touch controllers.

I don't know why I didn't try VR earlier, but I'm glad I did. Robo Recall is an awesome game to play. The Oculus Rift is ridiculously amazing.

I have both the PS4 VR and the RIft with Touch. The Rift is more comfortable and provides a crisper experience but get the OcculusDebug tool to configure for max settings (assuming you have the rig to support it). Don't expect 4k high end detail - its more of the total experience that deserves 5 stars. Looking forward to VR evolving and seeing the next generation!

I've owned a Gear VR since it came out, but the Oculus is much better. Setup was easy, just got the hand controllers & can't wait to use them. When you put on the Oculus, it truly transports you to another place. Would recommend this to anyone. Hope their library grows & the app prices go down

I am by no means a gamer of any kind and haven't touched a controller since the original Nintendo. This is the amazing system for a novice or daily gamer. I bought it without the touch and loved it but the touch controllers take it to whole other level. Get one you will not be dissapointed.

I wasn't sure what to expect from this but I have been waiting for awhile to give it a try. When this went on sale I couldn't resist. These are fantastic. I started playing with these and was just getting comfortable with it when a friend came over. Once he saw it, he wanted a turn. Before long, 4 friends were over and we ended up playing for 12 hours.

Awesome, totally different than any other PC experience. The 3D and total immersion changes everything. I havent tried a ton of content yet, but Robo Recall is a lot of fun, and the free Google Earth VR is stunning! I considered the Vive, but I like the fact that the rift works at room scale (now) or sitting while I save $200 under the price of the Vive.

I saved enough to get a VR headset. The main competitors are HTC Vive and this. HTC Vive from my research is a little better when you have a lot of room to play. Rift is better for smaller spaces and is cheaper. Even if you get the Oculus Touch and and extra sensor this is still cheaper than vive. And so far this can even play some of the Vive games.

If you have a high-end gaming desktop, the space, and money to burn then maybe this is for you. I would wait if you are the fence as many VR units are coming out.
