No better entry level headset. not having to set up base stations to track movements is incredible, and i didnt even think about trying VR until i learned that this headset didnt need elaborate setups.

the Oculus rift is all it's cracked up to be. Worked like it was supposed to but gave me motion sickness. I could not get past the motion sickness. I even went online to see if there was something I could do to alleviate it. I ended up returning the product. if you get any kind of motion sickness or seasickness I would tell you not to get this because everything I tried did not work. I even went as far as getting motion sickness sea bands and buying motion sickness tablets which put me to sleep, lol. Other than that I would highly recommend the product.

Mind blowing. This is a great semi budget VR that blows all sub 500 dollar VRs out of the water. Works amazing with steam VR and pretty easy to set up also features oculus store but steam is usually cheaper for games

My first VR system, so cant compair to the original Rift. But I can say, if you have the computer and means and want to try VR, this is the set to get. Very Happy and amazed at the games with this headset. Great visuals, easy to set up, no problems so far.

I'm no stranger to VR headsets as I own both the PSVR and HTC Vive, but the ease of use and setup is up to par with how easy it is to use the PSVR. The Oculus Rift in terms of PC VR Headset is very user friendly and top notch quality headset for $399 compared to HTC Vive which will run close to $900, much more if you for there higher tier models and the Valve Index which will run $1,400. In addition your getting all the great games from the Steam library as well as it's own exclusive library. I would however, recommend looking at some comparison videos as with the Oculus you can't adjust the IPD(Interpupillary Distance). However, most people's IPD are usually within the standard range of how the Oculus is set. Overall, I recommend the Oculus Rift S! :D Thanks, Christian

My son asked for an Oculus Rift S for his 15th birthday and he has been on it every chance he gets and absolutely loves it! Of course, I had to try it out since, you know, I paid for it, lol. I was extremely impressed. The controllers are very intuitive and lightweight. The graphics are amazing and the headset is comfortable. Of course, you do need a VR capable computer with minimum specs since it runs off the computer so just make sure your laptop or desktop is VR capable (luckily my son had asked for a gaming laptop for Christmas and it is quite powerful and VR capable). If you have a VR capable computer or plan on getting one then I highly recommend the Oculus Rift S. If you do not, then I suggest you take a look at the Oculus Quest which does not require a computer!

The oculus Rift S was one of the best purchases of my life. It was a Christmas present for my girlfriend and I to enjoy. The first VR headset was the playstation VR and while that was nice there were PC VR games that I wanted to play that were not on the platform. Granted I did my homework and after determining that my computer was strong enough I opted for the Rift S over the Quest 2. Not only has it been a blast to try games such as dungeon brewmaster, phasmaphobia and more but it has helped my household stay in shape with games like beat saber and boxing. Highly recommend getting this for the most bang for your buck. Computer specs: Windows 10 Gigabyte RTX 2070 Gigabyte motherboard X470 16gb ddr 4 3200 ram PSU 750w 2tb HHD

The product works great, no complaints at all. But the website only lists USB 3.0 as a required port, when in actuality you also need a Display Port. And for some reason, Oculus does not support adaptors.

This device is at the frontlines of VR.great video quality with great tracking motion sensors. The audio is a low point and could have been done alot better but can be lived with plus you can use earplugs. IPD could have been mechanical instead of relying on software to handle it as well.I did have to send mine back for a blackscreen issue that can happen with some of these, just get the geek squad coverage plan just to cover yourself, but it's a really good way of experiencing VR. i suggest running the blade runner 2049 VR...just blew me away!

Rift S, Solid alternative to Quest 2

The Rift S is a good choice for those not willing to deal with the issues surrounding the Occulus Quest 2. Rift S is still a fully tethered PC VR but with that comes more power, more room for those wearing glasses and general better performance. Some issues are loosing tracking with the controllers for brief moments and some issues with connectivity to my PC which may be pc specific. Other than that, it's a solid product and those two rare occurrences don't take away from this.

this is an amazing head set. but it has alot of cons remodeling, at least... for a person like me a girl 5'1 130lb. so im small and my head is average for my height and lb. i use all my technology on the lowest setting brightness, my eyes get irritated if i dont, or ill develop a migraine with very long use. honestly i knew the consequences and i took my chances. First this is the best experience EVER i love using the Headset!!!!!!!!! so much!!! at first your eyes hurt, or you'll have (normal) headaches, actually its normal!, in the 3rd day of using it, it went away. i would play games that had dark lighting, so i and minimal the brightness since it doesn't have anything to turn it down the brightness. i think you can but its difficult? idk i didnt try and that when the other thing comes in this is heavy. every time i tight the strap in the back it looses it up over time and digs into my cheek bones, ( the nose part) causing my eyes to stretch under and making my eyes more expose to the light and drying because i cant blink properly, so i have to keep adjusting it, over and over. by that time i found my self leaving the vrheadset in the corner, and if i leave something i bout in a corner for two weeks without using it, i return it back. i prob will buy this back and find out how i can make this thing glued to my head, take 30min-1hr break, and see if i can ajust the brightness.... but for now. noooo cause i know it will become a corner decoration

So overall I'm very pleased with the purchase (actually got two). I had originally wanted to get the Valve Index but this was a much more reasonable price point. Because of the fact that it is cheaper it is not a surprise the kit falls short in a couple places. But I can only imagine that where they fall short is simply because they were trying to keep the price point as low as possible. With that said I dont regret it. I have a PC capable of playing VR titles and this headset allows me to do just that. Pros: -Ease of use -Light weight (compared to the Oculus Quest 2) -Comfortable -Price -Able to play any Oculus or Steam VR title so far without issue Cons: -No power button - Cant turn off headset without unplugging USB cable. Feels silly not to have this...but the headset does have the ability to detect when you are and are not wearing it. Regardless I unplug it while I use my PC and dont want to have to worry about it being powered on yet. -Motion tracking is "fine" but not perfect. Again this is likely due to the pricepoint. But games that require specific motion to perform a specific task you will feel this. The headset has cameras that it relies on to track your controllers. The Valve $1000 kit has base stations for this purpose which are A LOT more accurate. But that is also why it is more expensive. Most games The tracking will be fine. But I can see in some where this could pose a problem. -Requires a compatible PC. But if this is a concern for you get the Oculus Quest 2. For me I preferred this one since it weighed less on my head. -Biggest gripe is this headset REQUIRES a facebook account. For those who use facebook this is no big deal. But for some you may be turned off by this.

I use this for flying in VR MSFS and DCS world, Star Wars Squadrons. For that purpose, it performs well. It is not a top tier headset. The screen door effect is there, but I often forget about it because of the immersion. Two other detractors from this headset, even though I really enjoy it. 1. Facebook owns Oculus. Enough said. 2. The built in sound is awful. Pro: For the price, there is no competition of quality for VR headsets right now.

I had never tried a real VR system before this, and I was expecting it to be pretty cool...but this thing blows my expectations out of the water. I had some initial issues getting the PDI set up (my PD is 64), and to stop looking around the screen with my eyes (and instead moving my head). Now, I'm blown away! Playing games in VR is an insane experience -- The first time I booted up ELITE Dangerous and jumped into Warp I was laughing out loud. If you have a computer capable of running it, you should definitely give it a look. Being tied to a computer is a downside, but definitely worth it for the amazing visuals and clarity.

    A Great Budget Option/Entry-Level Headset

I have used and/or owned an original Rift, Vive, Vive Pro, and Odyssey +. I recently bought a Rift S and pre-ordered a Valve Index. The Rift S is a solid $400 VR option, its software implementation is wonderful, but its build quality is lack-luster and while inside out tracking is convenient, there are issues. Will you notice the tracking issues frequently? Probably not, but they are certainly there. The controllers feel cheap, their haptics are underwhelming, and the overall build-quality of the Rift S just feels lower. The optics are great and while there has been a lot of complaints about the move from OLED, I have not had any issues with the black levels. If I was looking for an entry level VR headset with inside-out tracking, I would get this. If I wanted a cheap headset for SIMs, I'd get an HP Reverb. If I wanted a full room scale experience with expert tracking, I would get a used Vive (beware of HTC's quality control), and if I wanted the best experience, I would get the Valve Index. In short, it is a fine headset, but it feels cheap, it is an upgrade from the original Rift in tracking convenience and screen clarity, but there are better; albeit, more expensive options on the market.

I own an Oculus Go (fun for the price), an Oculus Quest (wireless is great, but the games can be pricey since you can only buy them from the Oculus Store unless you get into sideloading), and now an Oculus Rift S. I bought it assuming that it would work with the gaming laptop I had. Unfortunately, that laptop (like most laptops) did not have a DisplayPort. As I was not able to use the Rift S, I almost returned it until I found a good deal on a gaming PC tower with many DisplayPorts. Being able to buy VR titles from Steam and even occasionally one of the bundle sites has been a godsend. I love this thing.
