Wow, I just realized how long I've been using this. It's a little tricky at first but once you get used to it it's so easy and I can't believe that still works just as well as ever.

Not as user friendly but definetly worth the price for anyone needing to record lectures

Comes in handy if you need to record audio and don’t want to use your smartphone for the recording (for whatever reason). For instance, if you need to record a long stretch of audio and prefer not to use the storage space on your phone/cloud. It allows you to select from 4 different recording environments (“scenes”), so you can capture the best quality sound.

I use this recorder for school to record my lectures. It records really good. Definitely have to read the manual to take advantage of all the features. I would recommend this product if your looking for an easy to operate recorder. The price was very affordable and its small enough to fit in any small purse or side pocket.

I purchased this recorder as I was having some health issues & needed to see a few doctors, so I brought this with me as I was meeting for consultations and recorded them so I could play them back later so I would know everything about the meetings. It was easy to use and easy to hear on playback & very compact. The batteries lasted a long time still on the first set of batteries.

Compact. Very easy to operate. Controls are pretty intuitive after you spend a few minutes with them. Microphone/recording quality good, but not great. Battery life more than decent. A good, basic unit for the price.

One of the great things about this recorder, in addition to its price, small size, easiness to use, and (so far) reliability, is that it does what I tell it to do, not what it thinks I'd want if only I knew better. Specifically, I wanted it to capture instructions from a class, with the built in time for me to follow the instructions when the teacher isn't speaking. Many recorders turn themselves off if they hear silence, and that's not what I wanted. Frustrating! This one obeys, without second-guessing what I tell it. Hurray!

If you need a good voice recorder for school, this may be it! My wife bought one for her classes and swears by it now. It picks up the instructor very well and she has never run out of space or battery. This is a good value for the money. Very clear and easy to use!

This voice recorder has worked great for me, and is super easy to use. I'm really happy with how easily the device is to use and transfer the recordings to your computer.

Audio was satisfactory and easy to use was outstanding. It is a very good balance recorder for the money.

This inexpensive little recorder really does the job. It's easy to use, compared to my other recorders, and the sound is nice. I can fully recommend it.

I bought a cheap recorder from an online shopping site. It turned out to be a bad choice. So I tried this Olympus VN-541PC recorder, since I had $10 BestBuy rewards money. It has been a very helpful and useful little tool for me! It has no "start recording" noise between recording clips. It can rewind or fast-forward easily. The functional buttons are all on the front of the unit, so I didn't have to struggle to erase clips through the confusing digital display screen. When I am thinking about if I should erase a clip, it just waits for me. Not like the bad choice recorder goes "time-out" on me. With the reward money, It was only $10 more than the cheap one. It was really worth it!

This recorder was replacement for a far more expensive model that was stolen. Though this one cost less than half as much as the previous, it was a better buy. It's easy to use, and the sound quality is great. I regularly use this for my primary job and my secondary work, which is freelance writing. I do a lot of phone interviews, and the recorder clearly picks up every word. We've also used it at work to create sound files that are added to presentations. My VP liked it so much, she bought it from me, and I picked up a second one. Good deal.

This about my third or fourth Olympus. I like it's compactness and ease of use. The recorder picks up EVERYTHING. I have to tell people not to be clicking their pens or rummage through papers, because I hear it ALL. I bought new because my last I had to hold the battery door closed with a rubber band and the easel broke, to hold up the recorder finally, so I figured it was time, but it still works great. My only negative is the sound is not loud enough when you move the track to your computer to type. I have to turn up my speakers as high as they will go.

Size is great! The buttons are somewhat sensitive, so it is easy to erase what you don’t want to erase. Fairly easy to use. Records well

This voice recorder has a small size profile which is great in a classroom setting or to fit in a shirt pocket however the manual is very complicated and should be simplified, I purchased this recorder to use with Dragon dictation software, on the package instructions it is said that the recorder is 100% Dragon certified, I haven't used it with dictation yet,

I like the small size, easy operation and concealability of this device. In fact, the reasonable price enables one to carry a second if it fails, or you have the need for a backup!
