This camera is great. Buy it if you love the look of genuine 35 mm. The features allow you to modify and manipulate right through the view finder or the 1 inch screen. Your choice. It has weight to it, but one gets used to it. Cost does not include lens, so that gives you more freedom for your pictures.

What a performer. This small but very capable camera is perfect for travel and for everyday shooting. I upgraded to this from the Olympus E-M10 which was also a fantastic camera, but the Pen-F clearly blows the OMD line out of the water. Tons of still picture options, tons of video options- and almost every knob and button is customizable. Just a fantastic camera for the enthusiast but also great fun for professionals and consumers alike. But performance aside, it's unmatched in the way it feels to hold and use. Designed after the Leica III series, the Pen-F is not just beautiful aesthetically, but also a joy to use from how the dials feel to how the shutter sounds. The only thing I wish it had was an optical viewfinder but I understand it might not be practical. I highly recommend this camera especially if you miss using a film camera.

Pen -F has a nice bunch of features that make this camera a head of it's time. The extras that you can get for the Pen-F and lenses make it in class of it's own. People in photography should really check the Olympus Pen-F out and give it good look.

I have used a lot of cameras professionally over the years. Nikon, Canon, Pentax, Contax, Hasselblad, Rollei, Linhof, Sinar, and Leica most extensively. I recently decided as I approached retirement, my personal cameras needed a slimming down. (I still use Canon full frame cameras at work.) So I bought into the Olympus Micro Four Thirds system, anticipating a replacement for the OMD E-M1 coming this fall. In the meantime, Olympus introduced the Pen-F.
This camera reminds me of my Leica rangefinder (an M6) in terms of look, build, and feel. The body is solid, very intuitive in the control layout. The touch screen is amazing in all the ways it works. Go between photos in review by swiping, focus and take the picture with a touch, move where the focus indicator is, zoom in and out with finger tips. The autofocus is fast as lightning. Zooming and focus peaking are very useful. The EVF is great, and the LCD articulation is perfect.
I think this is my favorite camera in terms of overall performance, features, size, and capability. The Sony 20mp sensor is by far the best in an MFT camera I've seen so far. (Panasonic uses it in a recent camera too.) If you always wondered what it was like to shoot with a Leica rangefinder, this is as close as you're going to get without getting one. (At one-tenth the cost!) If you want a great MFT camera, you can't go wrong with this one. If I were into video more, I'd think about the new Panasonics. But for still photos? Olympus is your best bet.

This is an awesome camera. I ended up buying from B&H because they built a better bundle (better discounts on lenses) and it was tax free (I don't live in NY state) and in-stock. Best Buy didn't keep this in stock at any stores near me, despite my waiting all summer for it, and couldn't price match the bundle from B&H. Sob story aside, buy this no matter what, even if you can't get it from Best Buy (and love shopping at Best Buy).
Prepare for an instant and expensive obsession with lenses and teleconverters. Also I got a great case for this (since it's rather compact and feels a bit smaller than my big clumsy hand can comfortably grip when it's weighted with a bigger lens) - I recommend doing the same. I like my Gariz case but there appear to be a few other options around with equal grip.
