Wrist needs to be at same level with heart

It's really important to have your wrist at the same height as your heart as someone from Omron mentioned in the Q&A. In my case that meant I had to wrest my elbow on something much higher than my normal desk height. If you go by the level indicator (the heart icon) and your wrist is below your heart you will likely get an inaccurate reading. I test this with my doctors office and it was within a close range of what they were getting.
I knocked off a star because the wrist to heart height should be noted in the sticker in the box. Also, negative heart because it was giving me a notification of high blood pressure/hypertension with 100/80 which my doctor was confused by.

I take it everywhere i go. Its always correct. My doctor took my blood pressure with a standard blood arm cuff and it gave the same reading as the cuff.

This blood pressure monitor is the first I’ve purchased. I bought it on sale because I was looking for somthing small, quite, and simple to use I have another plug in one, but this one is so quite you can barely hearing it run. I do enjoy the app and sync feature. The app logs the data for easy tracking. I like the fact you can also add notes in the app to journal what’s going on. If your in the market, and this fits the budget, then i think its worth a try. It comes with a case and it takes 2 AA batteries.

If you're looking for a quick and easy way to track your blood pressure, this wrist monitor is perfect. My doctor recommended the brand, Omron. The device comes with batteries, which is convenient. I'm right-handed, so I use the device on my left hand and can control the buttons with my right hand. I haven't used the Bluetooth yet, but plan to read the manual soon in order to see if there are other features and functions I should take advantage of. Very pleased with this purchase.

I purchased the Omron 7 series - Wireless Wrist Blood Pressure Monitor - Black/Gray. I wanted to purchase a most reliable monitor after I had a high pressure reading at my Physical Therapy . So far, I think it's a very good monitor that I feel gives accurate readings. Plus it has a heart pulse reading. I take my readings 2 times a day. Easy to use. I get to check my readings to make sure my pressure stays in the good reading range. Plus, the price was right. That's why I gave it 5 stars. Thank you.

I like this as it is compact and works great. Using the wrist as the reading point means you can avoid some of that intense, almost python like squeezes you can get from cuff type machines trying to get readings from the arm/elbow situations. I like the design and it comes with a small black plastic case for storage and even mobility. I am pleased with this purchase so far. I don’t use the Bluetooth function though.

I’ve used this product about 2 months thus far. I really like the convenience of the unit but the accuracy is my problem. Depending on where the monitor is while you take a reading, is the deciding factor on outcome. I had had several different readings within a half inch to inch of placement. I’m going to switch to an arm cuff for better accuracy.

SeanM, thank you for sharing your experience. Wrist monitors are more sensitive to position, and even small changes in placement or wrist height can affect the reading, which is why upper arm monitors are generally recommended for the most consistent results. We understand your decision to switch, and we appreciate you giving Omron a try. If you ever want help selecting an upper arm model or have questions, please contact Omron Consumer Support at 800-634-4350.

Accurate Sitting Still With Monitor at Heart Level

Purchased to replace an inaccurate Fitbit. I purchased with the intent to monitor my BP/Pulse when I was exercising . I did not know that you must be sitting still, preferably for at least five minutes, to use this device. You must also hold the monitor at the level of your heart while you are sitting. These conditions are not posted on the box. If you walk and turn the monitor on, you get an E4 error message. I did compare the results to two other, cuff type BP monitors. The wrist monitor produced the same readings providing you keep the wrist monitor at the same level as your heart. So I was very satisfied with its accuracy. However, I already have three, cuff type monitors that only work when sitting so I will return the wrist monitor. Bottom line: good measurements if you follow the conditions for use which do not include movement when using.

This device is way easier to use that the arm cuff unit I previously used. The reading seem accurate, the follow-up “commentary” generated by the app is very informative and the available graphs are very helpful. Don’t use the unit without the app or you will miss a lot on insight in your pressure readings.

Excellent wrist blood pressure monitor. Quiet and accurate. Getting it to transfer data via Bluetooth to app is a bit tricky, but it works once you figure it out.
