Seen this movie many times and it never dissapoints

Wasn't sure about this film prior to purchase, as I had never seen it (or barely even heard of it), but due to how much I enjoy Sergio Leone's other "Spaghetti Westerns", combined with my love of DeNiro films and other great gangster films (like Scorcese and Coppola), I went for it. And despite its exceptionally long 4+ hour running time, it is really something great. Just look at it like you're watching The Godfather and The Godfather, Part II back-to-back. Especially when you consider The Godfather, Part II as almost two movies in one (with all the flashback scenes intercut with the main timeline), it's easily comparable to this film. Not to be missed for any true gangster epic fan!

I had never seen this movie and never heard anything about the plot. But I saw it on the rack at Best Buy for a good price, so I bought it. I found it to be okay. Not a bad movie, but probably not one I would want to sit through again.

Right up there with the God Father, Scarface, and Good Fellas. Didn't do well at the box office when originally released. Critics felt it was to long. Afterwards the home sales soared, word of mouth placed it as a must see. I've watched it several times and still enjoy it today. 36 years later and it still packs a punch... definitely a classic. Saw it on the big screen when it was originally released.

Budget release that contains the theatrical AND the director's virtually unseen cut. I like releases that give us the option to choose which version to watch. With that said, OUATIA is Leone's epic entry into the gangster genre chronicalling over 50 years in the lives Jewish hoods in NYC. GOODFELLAS? Get outta here! OUATIA was made 6 years before it. Check it out. This movie could make you a fan of the Maestro.

Drama about the rise and fall of a group of Jewish gangsters in New York at the beginning of the century through the 1960s. Classic is the best way to describe this movie. It is a 2 Blu-ray disc. One is the original theatrical cut and the second disc is the extended director's cut. The Director's Extended Cut has an additional 22 minutes never before seen in the theaters. AWESOME.

A truly epic classic film - this Extended Director's Cut is utterly superior to the mangled theatrical release (from 140 to 250 minutes!). Superb writing and superb acting by major *and* minor cast characters. Blu- ray transfer is excellent, but the 10% or so of the footage added for the extended cut is from noticeably flawed material - very faded color and exaggerated contrast.
