Do not buy a receiver that does not have Dolby Atmos; not many have it at this price point, but this one does, and has many more inputs and easier to use inputs than the competition. Things not to like: 1. Has Bluetooth receiver, but not a Bluetooth transmitter, so one can't listen to program thru Bluetooth headphones unless connect external Bluetooth transmitter to headphone jack. 2. Has no analog audio outputs, so one can't keep Bluetooth or RF transmitter for wireless headphones permanently plugged in; instead, have to walk over to receiver to plug in headphones. 1950s era convenience 3. When plug in headphones, speakers automatically disconnect. This makes it impossible for a hard of hearing persons to use headphones while person with normal hearing listens thru speakers. 4. If renaming inputs to suit your own requirements, can only choose from a preprogrammed list of alternative names, and not input your own name, like one can on a Sony. The preprogrammed names include no option to rename an input to use as a Phono input. All the above are inconveniences that can be easily remedied with software upgrades at no increase in manufacturing cost, and that the consumer should not have to suffer in a competitive market.

We had an Onkyo receiver purchased with our original surround sound in 2007 but decided that after several southern storm related power surges that it needed replaced. We read reviews and decided why change manufacturers and WOW what a difference this new receiver has made to our surround sound system...watching a movie in THX is incredible...couldn't be happier.

Certainly there are a great number of more expensive 4K receivers on the market but this Onkyo model is a work horse and does quite nicely couples with my Infinity Sub and Klipsch speakers. Matched up to a 50 inch 4K Samsung TV and absolutely thrilled with how easy the remote works for various inputs I use in addition to TV viewing.

Short of being in a theater, this is a solid performer all around. Matched with elac B6 Debut spks and the s10 sub, the sound, which is what I mainly wanted, is outstanding. Again, BB Black Friday shipped quicker than anyone and prices were outstanding. Will be back often.

This receiver is great for the money. I was looking for a reasonably priced receiver with upconvert and bluetooth to fill the needs of my family. I am like most people and have a couple of items for a receiver to amplify - a cable box, a DVD player and a gaming console so only need a small number of HDMI inputs. Sound is great, price was outstanding and it fits perfectly into my system.

Quality receiver for a reasonable price. Several inputs for multifunctional use. Tremendously improved the sound quality over my previous receiver while using the same speakers.

This is what I was saying, lots of power! Maybe too much for the speakers I chose. Easy to understand manual. Easy to use remote &ecolodges coded hook ups. Just wish it had more fine tuning for high mid & lows (manually). But it is an awesome unit.

I wanted a receiver that would let me cut down on cables, this one uses the HDMI cable for transferring the sound and it is great. I am not the best grading sound quality but for my purpose this receiver is well worth the price.

This is a nice addition to my home theater. It replaced a 10 yr old Yamaha and this is much better -- especially with the on screen speaker set up. That was a breeze.

Basic reciever have had no problems with it. It has worked wel in the living room with my surround sound speakers and the speakers in my bedroom. Has two zones which make it nice for playing only one area at a time.

This Onkyo replaced my 20 year old 7.1 Sony receiver and since my TV, speakers and blue ray player were new, it was a simple replacement and setup. It works great and is simple to use which is exactly what I needed.
