I installed one of these units and it was DOA. I was not able to get past the guided setup and had to return after calling support. While I may have just got a lemon I can't recommend it. Support was fast and knowledgeable and based in the us however.

Will begin review with saying that this receiver is very easy to set up with on screen simple navigation, great and simple and reliable bluetooth connection with fantastic sound via audio enhancer feature, great sound in stereo for music and watched enemy at the gates on netflix and wow. I spent double on what is called an elite receiver that was the most complicated thing I have ever messed with and could not get receiver to connect via bluetooth or get my rear surrounds to work after 3 times with on line set up procedure. This receiver was working flawlessly with all digital and analog sources within 40 minutes and sounded better in stereo than the twice as expensive elite product. Not sure for this price you can get a better sounding product. Easy to use for 2nd zone speakers on patio. Highly recommended. You can very simply set crossover network for each of your channels and perfectly balance with powered subwoofer. Best Buy as usual provides a no risk and great buying experience with their return policy. If you buy this receiver no matter how much you think you need to spend you will be happy with end result. I have very nice speakers and this brings them to life with all sources!

Our last Onkyo Receiver blew up in a storm. We were super bummed, but this functions so well and so much better than our last. I love, love, love this product! The price is amazing as well.

Upgraded from an older Samsung receiver and this has been well worth it. Love the net features allowing one button Pandora use.

Have not tried all the bells and whistles. The biggest complaint I have for any Onyko that is you have to assign HDMI.

Open Box Onkyo purchase, Returned to Best Buy after hours of frustrating attempts to connect to WiFi, Bluetooth and speakers. Onkyo Instructions are horrible and internet videos are just as bad. No help. Best Buy could have sent out their Geek Squad to set it up for $150, No Thanks!!! Returned and bought much less expensive and less complicated Insignia.

I bought a model tx-nr727 at my local Best Buy. The person there matched my amp/receiver perfectly to my speaker system That I bought at the same time. This product has been rocking and rollin for 2 years. I love the onkyo companies products !!!! I would highly recommend their products. If your on the fence about buying their products pull the trigger. I have had zero problems with mine and enjoy it every day. It has only been shut off 2 or 3 times in 2 years for a hour or 2 only. I have it on day and night and it has never failed. That's thousands of hours of use and it still pumps out the music, TV, CD's and any other ways to play it. Even hooks to my computer to play my downloaded music. Great buy !!!!! Great Product!!!!

Best Buy did it again.
I have been shopping for a receiver, mine died three years ago, so I'm due. So I walked into Best Buy to see what they had.
They had a receiver I had on my short list. The 545.
And it was selling for 349$!!
That beat any open box offers I had seen, so I sweated until the refund arrived and grabbed one.
This receiver is a bargain at the usual price, at 349 its a steal.
Its not audiophile quality, does not need to be, however, sounds really good at moderate to semi loud levels.
The system integration you get is what stands out.
Get the Integra app(looks better than the Onkyo# and with CEC and Wi-Fi
you can pretty much control your gear from your phone of tablet.
Everything but my cable box#they won't release the codes# and an
unusual tuner casn be controlled either from my tablet or the nice remote, only thing, no record button and no home button for my TV, so
I have the Panasonic app for my TV, but most of the time I only need the Integra.
Don't know about reliability, but as far as use and design, this is a great receiver, a few misses, but nothing really huge, the component inputs only take 480i #analog sunset) and are no better than the composite, so don't bother, and if you can bi-amp your speakers, this unit allows that, and
with the clockradio amps, its recommended, especially if you love music.
All of the streaming options are great, the USB handled my 500 gig
for awhile, then quit, still handles other stuff, a reset might fix that.
overall a very nice receiver, I've had two Onkyo products, one an eleven year old Integra and another a five year old Integra that died in
two years, so fingers crossed.
Recommended.

Selected this Onkyo unit for two main reasons: Dolby Atmos support, and had 6 HDMI inputs. So far this receiver has been very good. Two minor issues. I had some speaker wire touching one another, and during initial setup, the unit went into safety mode, but.. it didn't tell you it did. Took me a few hours to figure out. 2nd part, when calling Onkyo support.. while helpful, the information they gave me could have been easily posted on their website and manual... but wasn't. The onscreen display for "network" could be a bit better, but overall... solid

It was a joy getting familiar with my tx-nr545, it took several days to get comfortable with all the functions, but I am more than satisfied with all that it can do. WOW!

After purchasing and returning three other receivers do to the receiver not having the feature as described, this Onkyo receiver does just what it says and works beautifully! I was attempting to hook up my Nintendo NES a VCR and DVD player that all have the standard Composite connections, but I wanted the output to be through HDMI. Please be aware that there are some receivers that say they do "video up-convert" or "video up conversion" and they do not. What they probably do is "video up scaling" and this was not the feature that I needed. This Onkyo receiver does do "video up conversion" where is takes an analog signal and outputs through HDMI. I needed this feature so that I could plug in my old analog devices (Nintendo NES a VCR and DVD player) using the composite jacks on the receiver and have them all output through one HDMI cable on my TV and/or projector. Works awesome! I have Bose speakers hooked up and the sound is amazing! I also use the Bluetooth feature to play music from my phone or tablet and that is an awesome feature as well. Overall I'm thrilled with this receiver!

My last Onkyo AV receiver is 10 years old and still going strong. However, technology has changed and this receiver will fulfill my needs for another 10 years. This receiver along with my new UHDTV will make a big difference. I really like that a microphone is included for speaker adjustments. Connections are easy
