A little under powered for my theater room but had everything you would want for a mid to smaller room.

I bought this to replace an older Onkyo receiver (TX-NR555) that did not support 4k at 120 Hz. This has all of the same features and will let me use my game consoles at full resolution/refresh rate.
Sound wise, it is hard to tell the difference between this and my old TX-NR555 in most use cases, though for some movies this seems to not pack quite as much punch.
In general, movies and music sound great, and it supports all of the latest codecs like Dolby Atmos.
My main gripe is that it regularly decides to lose connection to the Onkyo app, and I have to unplug/re-plug it to get that back. I like to use the app to control volume and other settings from my phone, but have taken to having the remote nearby in case the app doesn't connect.
The only other issue I have is that when watching movies on my Xbox Series X, I get a loud click/pop sound when it switches between previews/pre-show items on a blu-ray. That didn't happen with the TX-NR555, so I think it is the receiver. It only happens when switching from one to the next, so it seems related to how it handles the different codecs that may be thrown at it.
All in all a good receiver worth the price.

very good receiver with all the features needed for most people. it was easy to set it up and it has enough power for my big speakers. no reason not to buy

Very good receiver. Connections are limited due to lack of pre-outs. May work well with small speaker setup. Not ideal for dedicated home theater. Will not drive large speakers efficiently. Audio quality is very good. Plenty of HDMIs to connect multiple devices.

Solid receiver for my 3 channel system, I’m running 2 Wharfedale Towers and a center channels connected to a samsung TV. This has plenty of power to get the speakers loud and stable up to about volume level 75 beyond that it gets a bit iffy but it’s fine since I don’t usually listen that loud. There are some Klipsch specific speaker features which I don’t really mess with. The airplay feature is also handy in a pinch when I want to listen to a podcast or music from my phone.
I have the speakers and TV connected along with a ps5 and nintendo switch connected, you can set it up to auto switch between devices so I pretty much run everything including audio from the Apple TV remote simplifying everything.

Great sounding, beauty and quality is what I was looking for and in this product I found all. I purchased two of them, one for my cabin in the mountains and one for my main house. The clarity is bar non some of the best I’ve heard for the money that I committed to it and my entire system. The thunderous sounds that it produces with my Bose and klipsch speakers are amazingly clear and thunderous. I highly recommend this products hands down

I purchased this receiver to replace an old Yamaha one with only one HDMI port. I initially purchased another Yamaha but just wasn’t able to get the sound back to the levels of the old unit. I switched to the Onkyo and not only did it immediately sound as good as the old Yamaha, the setup microphone made it sound even better. The setup was way easier too.

This is my second onkyo, as my last one still works, but new tech made it outdated after 15 years of great service. The set up is so easy with on screen display. The manual is a pdf file, so you should use a computer if you really want to read the small print. I may never reach the full capabilities of this receiver. I run a 7.1 system, and it has room for even more possibilities. I am very satisfied with this unit.

Our new Onkyo TX-NR6100 Receiver sounds great. Ease of use required a minimum learning curve from our old Onkyo receiver. which is still working after 17 years.
We especially like the "Zone 2" features and the new "ballanced "phono" input for our turntable. The audio for streaming has never sounded better.

Audio is crisp and clear. Setup was quick and easy. Used the mic to setup the spatial distance and crossover capabilities of my speakers. Great addition to my home theatre.

The HDMI board on my 2019 Onkyo TX-NR797 started misbehaving one week before the Best Buy extended warranty ran out. Geek Squad sent it out to be repaired. After 3weeks they informed me that Onkyo no longer had the parts and the receiver could not be fixed. They gave me a full refund which went towards an Onkyo TX-NR6100, which is essentially the 797 but with 2 fewer channels, and quite a few software improvements. I signed up for my Best Buy plus for $50, which gave me a discount of about $180 and added Geek Protection. So I got a new receiver for about $130 out of pocket.
The 6100 sounds better than the 797, probably because the inbuilt calibration has been improved, and I am still working through all the software enhancements. It complements my GoldenEar Tritons very nicely.
So, if you buy a receiver from Best Buy, it pays to join Best Buy plus, and get the Geek Squad protection plan.

This is by far the best receiver I’ve owned. I’ve had several Sony’s throughout years. I’ve always loved Sony for their simplicity and sound quality. I’ve owned a Denon, although sounds good, but way too much tweaking and couldn’t get the sound the way I wanted. I can tweak this Onkyo settings to exactly the way I like for movies and music. Very happy with purchase. Got it on sale

My Onkyo TX-NR6100 was just what I was looking for. It was easy to setup and programming was easy and pain free. The sound quality for the price is amazing. You would be hard pressed to find a better product for a better price. I highly recommend this A/V receiver.

This unit replaced an older Onkyo 590 7.1 unit with which I was very satisfied. I was conserned that the added features of the TX-NR6100 was not worth the expense. I can now say it was worht it. The surround sound is excellent as is the ease of operation.

Such a great receiver. Truly a smart receiver- cuts itself on/off whenever TV turned on. Connects to internet, can transmit/receive audio via wi-fi & Bluetooth. Extremely customizable plus when its connected to TV will take you to a separate interface viewable on TV that allows you even more access.
Great sound quality & best company for audio equipment hands down.

This is my 6th Onkyo receiver in the past 21 years! Easy set up - plenty of connections - very good sound output. My old TX-DS989 receiver had slightly better quality sound - this is still an excellent AV Receiver
