Love it! easy to connect to my WI-FI, entered my zip code, and found the amount of taxes and 911 fees I have to pay each month. With the way inflation is going it is almost like getting it for free. when one of the handsets looses it's charge, I have to pull and reinstall the batteries to get it to charge again.

Ooma is probably the best VOIP phone service. The very reasonably priced package includes the base unit and handsets that take up very little real estate and are easy to set up. Call quality is great. I'm using the wireless option to connect the handsets and chose not to bother using my old telephones. I chose Ooma to replace my old reliable copper wire phone lines because I got fed up with my service provider raising prices once or twice a year, pushing $100 a month; to add insult to injury, my service provider was pushing their VOIP service for $46 a month plus cost of equipment. With Ooma I pay next to nothing. The only downside is if I lose power, I lose internet service and telephone, making me dependent on cell service. I've been using Ooma for a month now and and very pleased.

Im in an area where my cell coverage is garbage even with a network extender. I am a tyele mental health pastoral counselor and work with very crisis based clients and my need for reliable service is incredibly important. This system workes flawlessly and pair with my cell phone so i can use my headset and seemlessly work with my clients without interupption ! cant say enough about how well this works and the simplicity of setup! I wish the handsets had a headphone or headset Jack would be a great upgrade but there are bluetooth headsets that work with this as well that im exploring now! Great product and affordable!

PROs: Set up was easy. The voice was excellent. Loved the abilty to check the history online. The cost was what drove me to purchase it. I set it up so if a call was missed, it would forward to my cell phone. It was excellent for my elderly mother. CONs: It was impossible to set the touch tone. I even used a third party phone and it still did not work. My mother's appertment building uses the touch tone to operate the door entry system. With pain in my heart I had to return it back to Best Buy.

I purchased this on BestBuy because it came with the (2) extra handsets. The Ooma home-unit works great. You can use it with both WiFi and LAN-cable. The device is simple to set up and can be done mostly through your smart-phone. The handsets are okay, if you leave them not-charging, they would turn off to conserve power and you'll need to turn it back on once again by holding down the hang-up/call button on the handset. The service itself works well, it hooks up to the current home-phone line and it distributes signals to the rest of the home's phone jacks. Also, the phone app allows you to take and make calls from your smart-phone whilst using the phone number assigned to the Ooma unit, which means you can technically use your smart-phone to answer phone calls from home. The one thing I dislike so far is that even with the 'Premiere' service that includes spam-blocking, our phone line still receives a lot of unwanted spam calls. You can however block each number manually, but there's always new numbers that come up later. Over all its a pretty great deal because if you only use the 'free' service, you're only paying the ~$5 charge every month and that's super affordable to have a home phone that simply hooks up to your internet. The 'Premiere' service is nice because it also gives you a second phone line (which is helpful for home-businesses) but it costs about an extra ~$100 a year. Tip: Before activating your account you will need to call the CS dept to have them activate it for you, but if you're getting the 'Premiere' service, ask for a discount if you're willing to pay for it at the yearly rate; this should save you $20 or so. I hope this helps!

I purchased this item for our camp. We wanted a phone without the huge bill that goes with it. Our friends have this at their home and they love it. So far it is working for us. If our internet was more dependable, I'm sure we would love it more. It was easy to connect but I did have to call the help line to finish the connection process. This is mostly due to the remote location where we are located.

    Replaced my landline finally.

This was purchased to replace my standard landline. The quality of the landline has been deteriorating for some time and it was costing way too much for such a poor connection. I purchased this device as a replacement and it has much better voice quality and if you aren't interested in the premier features then your monthly cost is only the fees and taxes imposed by the government for telephone service. I like the fact that I can connect this line to my smartphone through an app and thus can answer my home phone that way. Installation was simple and I was able to port my existing landline number over after a few days. That way I didn't have to go out and change numbers in the various services that are connected to that number. I realize that this does not provide phone service if the power goes out, which is why I kept the landline for so long. Just hope that my cell phone will serve that purpose when the time comes. All in all I am very pleased with this purchase so far.

This is my second Ooma Telo Air. My first one was a Telo Air with the wireless adapter purchased in 2014 which lasted 6 years. I had switched from the Spectrum/TWC phone so in the 6 + years, I have saved around $3000. I have also been a Premier subscriber. I am pleased that the Ooma has saving me $3000. But this time, I have really had to work to get this set up properly—Ooma makes it very difficult and Customer Service is very poor. Some tips:
If you would like to use your current phone lines for other handsets, make certain that your phone lines are not active before setting up your new Ooma. I have had my Ooma set up with a phone splitter in the Ooma “phone” jack. I connected 2 cordless phone base stations into this jack. Then I could set up the additional cordless phone handsets all over the house. For this new Ooma, since I have now made certain my home phone line is inactive, I plugged this new Ooma into my house phone jack, and other connected phones will work all over the house. Pros: Your online Ooma account lists all your phone calls by date, time, caller and duration of calls. This will be synced to your Ooma handset 3 “Phonebook.” Handset: nice bright clock! . Best Buys price was right. I ordered it online. There was a problem with the delivery and Best Buy’s Customer Service could not have been better. They shipped me a second phone right away. Cons: I received 2 Ooma’s from Best Buy since there was the delivery problem. Neither worked. I contacted Ooma Customer Service over a period of 5 days by 6 phone calls and 2 live chats. They had me do the usual unplugging, replugging, waiting, then blamed my Internet provider, my router, my firewall. After finally being connected with the Ooma “Higher Team” on Day 6, (without a phone) a “Higher Team” member told me that those Ooma activation codes were not working and being recalled. They sent me a working unit—which did work as soon as I made the connections. Wifi setup: I used this new Ooma with the ethernet connection for almost 3 weeks before I attempted to tackle the wifi setup. Even though my prior Ooma had the wifi adapter, I used the ethernet cable to connect to my router. I have a MacBook Pro with no ethernet port and I didn’t want to spend an additional $30 for the Apple ethernet adapter. I was anticipating a “better service experience” wifi set up on this new Ooma, as Ooma advertised with the “Ooma Setup App” announcement. I tried the Ooma Setup App using my iPad and iPod Touch and the app only took me as far as scanning the activation code before I got the message that I needed to call Customer Support! Oh, no, not again! Customer Support instructed me to disconnect the Ethernet cable, and within a day, the Ooma connected with my router over Wifi. It did not happen immediately. Many of the “Setup App” reviewers had the same frustration as I using the app. After I was using the Ooma for 8 weeks, the red light on the base unit started flashing. My Ooma app and my Ooma online accounts would not accept my password. I again called Ooma Customer Service—an “advanced technician” told me that when they received my defective unit their procedure is to deactivate the account! (Even though they had automatically billed my credit card for my monthly service 4 days before “deactivating me.” ) I was quite upset. They did reactivate my phone within a day, but I had to set up the Ooma as if I had first started with the service 6 years ago—all my saved information, blocked numbers, downloaded photo ID’s were lost. And then they billed me for that month again!! Even though it was entirely their error. I'd call Customer Service again to complain about the double billing, but CS usually makes things worse. So don’t expect much help from Ooma Customer Service. For the first 2 months I had this new Ooma, my online Ooma account indicated with a large red exclamation point that my account is “Offline” when it is actually online and fully functional. I did ask Customer Support about this. He told me I should use Chrome rather than Safari, but my Ooma online account still indicates that I am “Offline” on both browsers when it is online. The first week the handset batteries died after about 2 hours. I was ready to buy new batteries, but after a month of charging, the batteries seem to be holding a charge. Ooma’s robocall blocking has been outsmarted by all the robocallers since they remain my most frequent callers. There is occasional static on the phone, but it no worse than most cell phones. I fairly often get disconnected while in the middle of a call--and the base unit red light goes on, and has to cycle back on.

I got this on sale for less than $100. Setup was really quick and easy. I got a new number assigned with no problems, and it worked great right away. I haven't tried transferring my existing number yet, but that will be the next step. If that goes as smoothly as the rest of the setup I'll be absolutely thrilled with the whole process.

I love that this is a paired set. The phones work great and the system is pretty easy to use. Most of the setup needs to be done on an app and you can access more features with a web browser. Sadly, the system seems to have a problem with the WiFi so I was forced to connect it to my router with an Ethernet cable. I'm guessing that I could contact Ooma and request a replacement unit but the coverage is fine from the base station connected to the router. There is a bit of an echo when listening to voicemail from the handset. The savings are substantial compared to a traditional land-line phone so the few flaws I've experienced are well worth it. If WiFi would have worked, I would have given this 5 stars.

having done months of research on VOIP phones and service, Ooma repeatedly came up on top. Purchased the Tele Air 2 Unit that came with 2 HD3 Handsets. Bought on sale - great value. Installation requires downloading the Ooma Setup app to begin the process and coordinate during setup - not difficult at all. Printed instructions are very simple. All equipment installed smoothly. Sound quality is excellent.

We've had problems with our local telephone company for years-loud hum when it rains, no dial tone, can't be called, etc. and started looking for something else. We had Vonage many years ago and weren't happy with it mainly due to lousy internet. Now we have Starlink so no issues there. Ooma was easy to set up, maybe not in five minutes, but more like 15. We had one issue where the number ported over wouldn't ring the hard wired phones. A call to Tech Support fixed that-a simple re-boot. We kept the original number assigned by Ooma and I finally figured out how to have the main (ported) number show up on caller ID instead of the Ooma number. We don't really need the second number but the rep said that we wouldn't have to pay the taxes and 911 fees for it so we'll keep it for now. Be sure to disconnect the telco line before hooking up the Telo base to your house phone wiring. It's mentioned in the booklet but not really stressed. Ooma seems to be a great product. For example, it gives you the option of having your home phones ring or forward to your cell or both. This lets you answer calls from either the home phone or your cell. Customer support has been great the one time we used it. We were so impressed, we bought my sister a system for Christmas.

It was easy to set up, a fair price, and functional. No glitches. The sound quality is not perfect, but pretty good. I'm running it after my router because we have a combined modem/router. I'd be curious to test the sound quality if we could plug in directly to the modem as the manufacturer suggests.

I have had both Vonage and switched to Ooma a few months ago. This set with the base and the 2 handsets is all we need and it looks easy to add another handset if needed. Initial setup is pretty easy, porting the number was easy. The initial firmware update for the handsets and the base unit does take a while though. I haven't noticed any difference with the voice quality between Ooma and Vonage. Ooma supposedly has HD voice when you call another Ooma user but I haven't paid enough attention to notice the difference, it's a phone not a surround sound system. However, Ooma is many levels above Vonage in every other category (the apps, the hardware, the web interface...etc) Everything on Ooma looks and feels current and modern. Vonage, especially the software interface on the app and on the web looks like it hasn't been updated in a very long time, especially the android app. With pricing, Vonage has a good intro price then it is way more expensive. On Ooma, even if you pay for the more premium service it is still much cheaper.
