Customers are delighted by the Telo Internet Home Phone Service, especially the call quality and ease of use. Many also appreciate the low cost, overall reliable performance, and simple setup. The availability of many features is also a plus for users. A few customers, however, have expressed concerns about the porting process.

Had a Verizon cellular base station for our home phone and service just kept getting worse. We were missing calls and at the end we often had no service at all. Went into their store twice and was told that there was no problem. Yeah, Right. Dumped Verizon and got the Telo. Took a bit of playing around to get it to work with my router, but now it is working well. I was a tech for 35 years, so getting it set up was not a big deal. Someone without experience might have a harder time getting the Telo working. That is why only 4 stars for ease of use. As far as actually using the unit and getting the features set up on the Ooma website, I would say that is 5 stars. I signed up for the Ooma premium service package. The call blocking features are handy, a lot less spam calls than we had before. So far, I am very pleased with the unit.

Excellent savings in monthly phone bill. You only pay taxes, in my case around $6 per month vs. $45 from AT&T. Reception and voice quality same as AT&T. You are also able to bring your existing phone number.

We transitioned to Ooma for our home phone last month. The entire porting process was easy and the set up of this device was user friendly. Their customer support is also excellent.

This was an very easy set up and low costs way to maintain a land line and you can port an existing number to it. Call quality is as good or better then former cable land line.
Happy with the product that lived up to it marketing and ease of installation.

I cancelled my triple play service because as soon as it was activated I started receiving numerous telemarketer calls daily without ever giving the number out. Started with Ooma and setup was easy. I got to pick my own new number local to me, by choice, and was setup and making calls inside of 30 minutes. Sounds great on both ends and no one would ever know I was using VoIP.

I was skeptical at first but ever rising phone bills from AT&T forced me into it. I picked up the unit at Best Buy and in fifteen minutes was up and running on Ooma! Porting my phone number was fast even though the instructions said to expect it to take a couple of weeks (it was done in four days!). I elected to stay with the Premium edition as it has some features I like. Even with the extra cost it was still nowhere close to what I was paying. The clarity is good, no dropped calls. Four weeks in an I have no complaints!

Great purchase. I was overpaying for my home phone, and switching to Ooma was easy and saves me a lot of money. Plus, I get more services for much less money. I wish I had made this purchase sooner.

The Ooma -Telo VoIP device is an excellent option to address the support for a land-line. Initial activation and options setup were easy. Our old phone ported over within days (though we were told that it may have taken weeks). No problems interfacing with our existing home phone system (multiple cordless units w/ call voice messaging). Call quality is clear. Its been 2 weeks and we're glad we chose Ooma. A $5 monthly phone bill is a definite plus as well.

Just like advertised. Hooked it up and plugged it in with the wires provided and worked beautifully after the sign-up process, all done on-line, getting a phone number, etc. In the middle of the phone number porting process now, which has been approved and looks like will take about two weeks to get my original phone number ported over.

The unit has worked great. Had one minor problem and tech support had it straightened out for us almost immediately. They made it really easy to get rid of the prime, which gave you international calling but cost more. First bill was under 5 bucks. At this rate I will have this paid off in no time. Calls are clear and have not ever had a dropped call in two months of use.

If your household is anything like mine everyone has a cell phone. we had the most basic home phone that could not call long distance, it couldn't even call our cell phones that were in the same area code. And for this (lack of) service we paid about $25 a month.
Even with the charge to port our phone number and the purchase price of Ooma we will come out ahead in the first year.
Call quality is excellent although we do have a cable modem for Internet.
On top of it all the home phone can call our cell phones now.
Would have stuck with the phone company if they offered a $10/month plan or less but I'm glad they don't as it forced us to look into other options
P.S. The port of our number was easy and completed sooner than expected, and in general setting up Ooma was very easy!

What can I say I love it, I have had no problems with it installation was easy and it's going to save me hundreds. One hint I would give you if your going to port your number(39.99 one time fee) follow the instructions and DO NOT CANCEL YOUR OLD SERVICE TILL YOU GET IT PORTED otherwise you will have to reactivate your service but if you choose a new number your fine

This excellent device allowed my landline phone to function directly over the internet for a much lower monthly fee than my previous Internet Service Provider (ISP). Once my phone number was ported from the old ISP to Ooma, I could plug this device into my router and connect it to my home phone wiring, so that all my phone extensions were served by it. The sound quality is excellent. Various plans are available from Ooma, from the minimal one (just local taxes), to premium plans with special services (messages, call blocking, etc.). Even the premium plan costs less than what my previous ISP was charging me for this landline service.

I had home phone service with the local provider for nearly free when bundled with DSL until they raised the rate once the promotion was over. When they wouldn't budge on price, I looked into many VoIP options and went with Ooma for their quality of service and better customer service than the competition. I just got the basic plan and now enjoy free phone service for $3.85 a month just to cover taxes. The taxes will vary depending on your locale.
The setup was quick and easy. I had it running in less than 10 minutes. The sound quality is better than the landline, too. I also no longer get telemarketing calls and collection calls for the owners of my old number. The Ooma numbers aren't old recycled numbers, at least not yet. Of course, porting your old number is still an option.

Very good service for good price. Premium service is reasonable with standard service costing only taxes and fees. I had a few problems getting my account set up but no problems with the device itself or operation. Any problems I did have with my account the support people were wonderful and sorting it out and correcting the problems. Calls are clear and online controls are easy to use for configuring options.
