I was a 10 year customer of Voipo until I started getting attacked by sipvicious, a piece of software made and given away free by Google which hackers now use to attack sip servers. I tried everything they sais to try setting ports open, trying a new box and nothiing worked. Within 30 seconds of plugging in the box the attacks would come. Strange, weird rings, over and over until you unplugged the box. This went on for 4 months, finally Voipo said it was my problem and not theirs, so I hung up the phone, drove to best Buy, bought the Ooma and had a working phone again finally within minutes of plugging it in. thanks for being there.

    Replacement for my original

My original Telo had done well for several years before breaking. This one was easy to replace with the help of the Ooma Helpline, which was needed to change over the device to the old account. The only problem is the phone will not sync with it, but a plug-in phone does work with it.

this is the third ooma unit i have owned, and they are great. you can't beat the price, and you can't beat the savings. i do not like using cell phones as a replacement for landlines, and this is a spectacular alternative.

If you want to cut your phone expenses, this is great. However, if you need to hook up a fax or want to use the existing phone jacks, you need to purchase additional equipment as well as know how to disconnect the phone lines from the outside of your home. Also, be sure you are ready to commit to this as cancelling is another issue - shady practices and offers to sell your unit to a 3rd party at a reduced rate.

Love still having the "landline" and this is the best option. Nice to have the backup to my mobile device. Pretty much pays for itself in 3-5 months with thatcjust dependent on whether you want to keep an existing number or just get a brand new number assigned. Super easy to setup and connecr.

The call quality is awesome. I picked this over the other services (Magic Jack, vonage, etc) because there is no monthly fee. Don't be lured in by magic jack with 1 year free....think big picture (no monthly fee for the rest of your life!). In addition, Magic Jack said that it might not be able to call some rural areas and I have a lot of family in very rural areas. The one minor annoying thing is the blue light that is on the device its self. The light is always shining so it is a little annoying when it is night time. And you must dial 1 before the area code on any number or you will call some other ooma customer that has the same number

Just like advertised. Hooked it up and plugged it in with the wires provided and worked beautifully after the sign-up process, all done on-line, getting a phone number, etc. In the middle of the phone number porting process now, which has been approved and looks like will take about two weeks to get my original phone number ported over.

The setup was fairly easy, the call quality is great, and the savings pay for the unit in 2 months. I wish I switched years ago. I didn't port my old number because it wasn't that important to me and I heard that it took a couple of weeks and I wanted to start saving now.

The Ooma - Telo was very easy to set up from start to finish. They give clear instructions that make the installation process pretty easy. And though their telephone is rather expensive, it has good features and easily connects to the Telo. I would give it 5 stars but haven't had it long enough to do so.

AT&T informed me that I had been a loyal customer for 36 years. They why did they not take care of me? Fees here, charges there. $35 a month. I just canceled them yesterday after I received Ooma's confirmation. Some have complained of quality of the calls but for me I can hear no difference. I opted out of the Premier features and now will save over $30 a month. That's $360 a year!! So far after a month of service and I love it. I have it at every phone in my house. Get one yourself.

It does what it says it's supposed to - replace your land line or VOIP phone with a totally internet/wifi based VOIP. Good phone support, if you need it.

The unit itself is sleek and unobtrusive. The price from Best Buy was $20 cheaper than buying from OOMA, herself! Installation was a snap, and we were phoning with alacrity very soon.

Best landline!! It runs through the computer but if the internet goes out, it will ring to your cell phone. It automatically detects robo calls and has other perks. Also CHEAP, approx $5/month

Fairly easy to set up and get going. Web site instructions could be a bit clearer. Otherwise you just fiddle around with it until it does what you want. They do send you a lot of sales emails so look at the check boxes on that subject. Calls so far have sounded great. Time will tell if it was a good buy.
