Full bodied story of the west. Good story line and a satisfying tying up of the plot

So excited to finally find this movie for my dad. I got it for a great deal, I just wish there was blue ray or digital copy at least.

Favorite movie for a family member. Purchased with DVD player on Black Friday for Christmas. Best Buy had the best prices for both presents.

Action packed shootem up movie with great soundtrack and beautiful scenery. Kevin Costner at his best and selecting Robert Duvall getting top billing and loads of other actors including Annette Benning. This movie should be in blu-ray soon. The gun actions are so real and the story line is of a history of how events turned out with free grazing of cattle in the 1870's onward. I love this movie and have watched it with people gathered around at least 3 times. Costner adds his story behind the the movie and how he selected who would be in it and where they were on location to film the movie. It is like watching a piece of American West. I think it is up there with Dances with Wolves. The movie does get your attention. There is some funny parts in it and the movie does have an ending viewers will like.

There are so few Westerns that come out in the last several years and even fewer of those are actually good. Fortunately, Open Range is one of the exceptions. The typical extraordinary acting from Duvall is there, as well as a pretty good performance from Costner. The film has a great plot about two aging cowboys, played by Duvall and Costner, who must overcome the greed and prejudice of a local rancher and his corrupt town marshal. There isn't much gunslinging until the end of the movie, but it more than makes up for the lack thereof with an epic shootout. With the great acting, plot, and cinematography, Open Range is one of the best Westerns in the last 15 years.

This is one of the better western movies put out in the last ten years. Robert Duvall and Kevin Costner are excellent together in this movie. It is a little long though. The story is great. The shoot out scenes are really good. For the women out there it does have a love story it is not just a guy movie. It has alot of good dvd extras. This is my favorite western movie I have ever seen and this is a great price to buy it at.

this is just an all-around great movie, awesome acting, good story, and good gun-slinging. this movie is very refreshing after seeing alot of movies lately.
