    Different, but not bad

I love and hate how hard it is. You have a squad of 4 guys and have to really use them in order not to get killed every turn you take. If you get shot in the arm you can eventually bleed out, get shot in the body you will bleed out faster and usually go to the ground and have to call for a medic. The easiest way to play it is online so that you have real people flanking and shooting at enemies. The AI of your squad in single player is lacking. Give it an A-, only for the AI being not so smart. Would recommend!

A change of pace from CoD series

If you're looking for a change of pace from the ususal run 'n gun style FPS this, maybe, is what you are looking for. CoD Modern Warfare, in my opinion, set the standard for graphics. The graphics for this game comes close to it. What it lacked was texturing. This is a difficult game and I'm playing on "easy" mode. I can only imagine the "hard" mode. One shot one kill does apply here and that is often you dying if you don't plan it out. However, I find it annoying that you can't kill enemies with just one shot. If you're near death your AI teammates do not come to the rescue. Although, if you get shot and depending on the seriousness of the injury you are able to heal yourself with the medic kit by holding down button "B" to select the kit and then holding down "RT". Yeah about that. About the button pushing in this game. It's not very responsive, to say the least. Speaking of your (moronic) AI teammate, I ordered them to stand behind a wall to suppress fire but they stood out in the open doing it. Needless to say a couple of them died which, in itself, is a blessing in disguise. Because I was doing all the work anyway and you're able to take what they left behind (i.e. weapons and ammunitions). It seems that the enemy AI is smarter. However, your AI teammate is good for something, they'll alert you of the enemy's postion. If you run for a long period you will get tired. You can feel the heart beating through the controller. You're able to stand, crouch or go prone. I have not played on-line yet. So no comment on that. I also have not played co-op either. But if you like Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Vegas series then this is right up your alley. If it's anything like RBSV, it should be fun. All in all it is a fun and interesting game because it makes you think.

I have been anticipating this game since I heard about it's release. I must say that so far, I am throughly impressed. Graphics are good, not great, but the gameplay makes up for this in every way. I have read a ton of negative reviews and in my opinion they are all ridiculous, this game delivers a tactical shooter and nothing less. The AI is intelligent, the best I have seen so far. Your team is helpful in locating the enemy since they are difficult to see. If you engage the enemy they will try to flank you, and other enemy forces will move in on your position to assist them. The command system is a bit cumbersome at first but when you get the hang of it, it is pretty easy to use. Overall I love this game and recommend it to anyone who is tired of the run-n-gun type games like COD, HALO etc....they may be great games, but if you want a more tactical, realistic game pick up OFP!

The game is very realistic. I mean that if you get shot in the head then you die! This also makes the game very challenging. This game will require you to use cover at all times. It also makes you truely use your team members to help with the missions. I haven't played the online multiplayer yet, but can't wait!!

    Shoot To Kill

Operation Flashpoint Dragon Rising is a first person solid combat simulator with the distinction of being a little mediocre. The game features well done bits of combat mechanics and co-op gameplay, but it has a frustrating checkpoint system, short mission list, and questioned A.I.The story takes place in the fictional setting in Russia.Chinese forces have taken over so it's up to US soldiers to go in and stabilize the situation before the Russians get involved. The combat in the game is very realistic,It has persist facts about gravity, wind, and body motion when you fire a weapon. Also the game has four player co-op,the game lets you pair up with friends for your missions. The A.I. in this game really lacks the realness of combat. They will fail to find cover,or even follow you.The games checkpoint system is uneven.Sometimes it fails to resister, other times it auto saves when you're under enemy fire. The game only features 11 missions,by which some army brats can fly through quickly. In competitive multiplayer you will be assigned 3 A.I. bots.Their are 8 squads total with each squad commaned by one real player. But with poor A.I. your bots will get killed faster than you will.If you're a fan of real simulated shooters by all means get this one.But it's hard to recommend fully.
