Amazing masterpiece by Opeth. Highly recommended. Mikael outdid himself with this album. Mixed and mastered by Steven Wilson. Album is very high quality sounding.

Opeth is one of the most exciting bands out there today. If you have been a fan since the begining and have stayed the path with htem you too are growing musicaly as well. A must for any prgressive metal junkie!

Opeth has evolved from a death metal band with growling vocals to a progressive rock band with clean vocals. most of the heavy heavy metal riffs are gone but the great music remains from Opeth

Great album from the Swedish masters of rock, no more death vocals but great singing and playing.
Great composition and song writing.

Incredible album. If your looking for the Opeth of old, skip but if you want to expand out into some good Prog with a 70's meets millennial vibe......grab it.

Opeth had turned a corner it seems. This new record takes what they did with Heritage and brings it to a new level.

Unique sounding. Similar to Steven Wilson and Porcupine. Also deeply rooted in 70's rock in roll and jazz rock.

The newest album from Opeth continues the trends they set with Heritage but is even better.

... but leaning toward the latter, which is why I took an interest in this album. At the end, it doesn't rock as well as I'd prefer, and it doesn't have the instrumental vitality that one hopes for in progressive. It's decent, but perhaps more steps on the journey remain between where they were and where they're headed.

I have a rule. I only purchase physical CD's if they are cheaper than iTunes or if they have some sort of video disc along with it... This comes with a Blu Ray disc that has a 5.1 mix... Why? It would been more cost effective to have it on DVD... The Bluray mix doesn't offer anything... May it should have had stems? Some video? Anything? Nope, just a 5.1 mix...sorry Opeth, missed the mark on this one...

I have been an Opeth fan since the beginning. I have all of there albums as well as dvds. There music ranges from soft melodies to hard core metal. I tend to sway more toward the later. This album in my opinion is too soft. Its not what I expected from this latest work. Still love Opeth though.
