Sweet steelbook, best movie of 2023! Had to add this nolan film to the collection no questions!

Absolutely gorgeous steelbook with an amazing 4k transfer of the best movie of 2023

One of the best steel books I own! The 4k is magnificent

Best buy really had poor planning for this release, also why allow people to buy 30+ copies of the movie? Go on ebay and other resellers and there are people that bought 20-30 copies just to resale. Yall really dont force refunds if someone buys more than a certain amount? Yall really havent learned from the PS5 era yet? Cant believe that the last best buy steelbook really had to go out with a bang like this, and not the good kind (like in Oppenheimer).

The film itself needs no introduction as most everyone has seen it. I’ll be speaking purely about the steelbook itself. This will likely be the last Best Buy exclusive steelbook I ever get as physical media is being dropped next year. I think the availability of this steelbook confirms that to be the case as it seems very few were able to get one. I myself got lucky and got in on what I think is the one and only time they became available for preorder after the initial launch. The steelbook itself is a great design as it makes clear the central theme of the film, and also has the title stamped into the front. I have to ding it for how it manages the discs in general as the stacked approach has always been problematic. Discs are more prone to come loose in the case and get scratched. I do like that it’s mostly dark colors as it allows for imperfections to be found easier. I have to deduct a star due to how poorly Best Buy handled this release. While I was able to secure a copy, many weren’t as fortunate and they should have known this would be in high demand.

I kept trying to order this movie because it was on sale and said available to ship for free but everytime I clicked checkout it would throw up ‘not available anymore for shipping’ and I tried chatting with customer service twice letting them put the order in but it failed thise times also.

As usual when a steelbook sells out, angry fanboys who snoozed or were too late to order a copy give a bad rating to the product to try to "get back" at Best Buy. The negative review is unwarranted. Oppenheimer is one of Nolan's greatest achievements and a timely story to tell of the man who was in charge of the Manhattan Project, inventing nuclear weapons for the US. With potential war looming with nuclear powers China and Russia, it is important to understand the genesis of the cold war that was fraught with the tension of a potential nuclear winter. The story of Oppenheimer is revealed through the lens of a key congressional hearing. In typical Nolan fashion, we are treated to profound sights and sounds as we travel back to Oppenheimer's formative years as a physics student, his tenure as a theoretical physics professor, and his appointment to lead the Manhattan Project in his spiritual refuge of New Mexico. The story is told expertly by Nolan, juggling the physicist's academic and love life as well as his career achievements as downfall by a kangaroo court set up by a jilted political appointee. The 4K definition is amazing to behold with the shifting aspect ratio revealing when Nolan used IMAX cameras for the production. Music and dialog are awesome as well, with the Dolby Atmos sound engineering. And of course the steelbook offers a wonderful keepsake, with the embossed title. My one complaint is that the flames were not as vibrant on the steelbook cover as they are in the photo here on the website. But of course, if you angle the light to reflect of the steelbook, it brightens the colors considerably and it's nonissue. No one should rate this film or steelbook less than 5 stars.

Dear Best Buy, bubble mailers don't work for Steelbooks.

ITEM REVIEW: The steelbook has surprisingly gorgeous artwork and a lovely embossed title on the cover. I absolutely fell in love with this release. FILM REVIEW: With OPPENHEIMER, Christopher Nolan shows again that he is one of the best directors working today. The story and dialogue is probably the most meticulous it has been and is perfectly showcased by the pitch-perfect cast, led by a transcendent Cillian Murphy. Robert Downey Jr has the ability of redefining his career yet again with this performance as its catalyst. Emily Blunt gives us even more reasons to be in awe of her talents. Perfectly edited and paced with a driving score by Ludwig Göransson, OPPENHEIMER is one of the best films of the year (maybe even the decade).

As soon as I got home and saw the bubble mailer in my mailbox, I knew I was in trouble. Of course when I opened the mailer I found a dented steelbook. I am not even going to bother opening the shrink wrap cause it will probably fall apart. Shame on Best Buy for sending a $40 movie in a cheap envelope. Hopefully whoever takes over selling exclusive steelbooks from Best Buy understands the concept of a box.

I follow all my notification sites on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram. I was ready in October to grab this amazing steelbook. I warned folks not to sleep on this as it is one of Bestbuy’s last physical releases. Y’ALL SEEN WHAT HAPPENED TO BLUE BEETLE AND THE EXORICIST! Folks said they hated the art and how it was stacked movies. Should’ve copped now y’all making mad reviews. 5/5 stars from me. Embroidery on the lettering too? Whew CHILD! I am thankful this Thanksgiving.

The 70mm Imax extravaganza of the year delivers the goods on the best presentation on home video. It's demo quality in both the visual & audio departments, which is to be expected. In edition to the stellar presentation. The bonus features aren't fluff EPK stuff either. Feature length docs, Panel Discussions about the making of the movie & The real history behind the movie are featured on an extra Blu-ray disc. Well worth the purchase.

I've never been so excited for a Steelbook to arrive as I was for this, there is a reason this sold out in hours. Simply one of the most gorgeous Steelbooks ever made, and I can't express how happy I am that they chose the best poster for the film as the artwork. The title is also debossed which is a pleasant surprise. Arrived in perfect condition, and by all accounts, is perfect in picture and sound quality.

Great design, yet another steelbook with a dent in it

Nolan’s movies typically look outstanding on physical media, and Oppenheimer is no exception. It looks and sounds incredible. The movie itself is pretty great. There are a few goofy scenes, such as when they pause in the midst of doing the deed to read sanskrit, but overall it is a fascinating portrayal of a complex historical figure as he struggles to reckon with the consequences of his work.

A whirlwind tour of the life and challenges of a conflicted genius navigating complicated decisions in the making of a century-defining scientific achievement and its fallout (pun intended) for himself and the world. Some of Christopher Nolan's finest, most intense work to date, particularly whenever it launches the viewer face-first into Cillian Murphy's haunting inner turmoil.

Very nice steelbook for a great film. Would have liked a protective slipcase but its nice either way

I'm not sure why there are shipping inconsistencies, but my copy was shipped in a box with bubble padding. Looks great! For those out there that missed this one, definitely hit that preorder button since some of these steelbooks don't seem to be making it to stores (not that we'll have to worry about ANY movies being shipped by Best Buy soon).

Item arrived damaged, but the way it was damaged meant that it went into the package damaged. Absolutely embarrassing and unacceptable foe Best Buy to allow this to happen. Worst part is that there is no exchange process.
