When I saw that my mother had the first edition io I went and found out they had a few new ones so I bought this one and I’m definitely impressed it does a great job and also the edition of it being blue tooth connected to the app you can download makes this a plus in my book. It’s like having a dentist next to you telling you what to do when you set it into different modes like daily, whitening, or gums to name a couple modes. After brushing it feels like I have been to the dentist…. Ah fresh. Anyway with that being said I’m buying the Jo 10 in a couple weeks. Overall great buy and comes with 2 different brush heads, charger, and travel case. Grab one today won’t disappoint.

The Sweet Spot of the Oral-B "iO" Product Line

Bottom Line Up Front: ========================================================= The Oral-B toothbrush brand has always been one of the “go-to” hygiene options out on market for many years. Having used several of their “Smart” series toothbrushes, the iO Series 7 offers solid features and updates to their older product lines, while making it easier more effective for keeping your mouth clean. Styling & Functionality: ========================================================= I’ve said it before, and I’ll say again – I ALWAYS appreciate the sleek – “all business” look of the matte black exterior casings or coverings in ALL of my things. It is nice that Oral-B offers the option of “Onyx Black” or “White Alabaster” – but I think the Onyx model is subjectively styled “nicer” and blends in with my other person hygiene tools in my bathroom. The simple display on the front of the handle is basic – but very readable AND offers way more information than many of their older/previous models that I have used. Compared to my previous Oral-B Smart series 6000 (this unit that this iO 7 replaced) - the physical “handle” unit looks and feels like a quality piece of equipment just like before. I honestly think that this unit is going to last many… many … many years – just like their older models that I have used past. It was a nice touch upgrading the charging base to a wireless “charging nub/pad” type versus the older base with the plastic spike piece that fit into the underside of the handle unit. A down side to this design choice, is that it is notably easier to “knock it over” if you’re not careful, while it is on its charging base. The iO Series 7 -- 5 “ Smart” modes -- are more than enough for anyone to find the right setting to get that “whole mouth” clean feeling everyone like to brag about right after leaving the dentist… and while I appreciate the updated brush head design – I wouldn’t say that it as much of an improvement over some of their older models/designs – which is a testament as to how well the whole Oral-B line has cleaned over the years. I believe Oral-B is dead on when they say that the rounder shaped head and superior in reaching those harder to reach places, and really gets in between my teeth like nothing else (with the exception of Floss) – and I have yet to find any other toothbrush system that cleans as well as this iO 7 does. The buttons and lighting options on display all just “work” – and never feel like you need a master’s degree to operate your toothbrush. Interesting Observations: =================================================== - The included travel case is nicer than I anticipated. Compared to some of the cheaper “clam shell” styled ones that used to be included in the previous generations – this case for the iO7 feels noticeably better and like it will last A LOT longer – I travel quite a bit, so I am hard on the cases. - Don’t forget about the APP! Everything has an App these days, and this is no exception. Using your phones/device Bluetooth connection – you can visually see your brushing time, habits, and a lot of other details that can prove useful when trying to stick to a particular dental hygiene routine. - Oral-B gives you 2 of the new styled “Ultimate” brush heads in the box to start off with. Keep this in mind as you will/should be replacing the heads every 3-4 months – possibly sooner if you brush more frequently or have special hygiene needs. These newer styled heads are also “newer” to the market – so keep that in mind when shopping for replacement heads (which you can buy here at BestBuy.com) Closing thoughts: =================================================== I place a lot of value in products and things that work like they are “supposed to”. This is one of those products that delivers on that promise. It looks great, out performs its predecessors and competitors while not require an advanced dental degree to operate. Is this device the most cost effective out there? – not when compared to older Oral-B model that arguably clean almost/just as well for less than the retail asking price of this new iO 7. That being said – that really is a compliment of how well Oral-B as a whole put thoughtful and effective design choices into their products. I think the iO “Series 7” – is the new “Sweet Spot” of the entire "iO" line – essentially all of the performance and features you could ask for – with out having to pay for extra features and functions that you most likely won’t use, or that you may not need to keep you whole mouth feeling clean and healthy. 5 stars all the way!

At first I thought $200 for a toothbrush? And adding Bluetooth in a Toothbrush….Really? Well, I have to eat all those words! This thing Rocks! I have used an electric brush for at least 20 years. Oral B has been one of my favorites. This particular model is sharp in the black color and really does perform. Like some, I was worried about the magnetic base and the height of the brush on top. It can be top heavy but I do not find it slipping off the base or toppling off to the floor. The magnet is strong and holds it very well. The base is very weighted and stays put on the counter. Some other models have bases that are light, and the cord is enough to move the base around. Not with this model, it stays put! In addition, because there are no recesses or “sockets” on this base, it is a dream to keep clean. Others have those ridges, or hole, or a tab to stabilize the brush head and they collect all the “run off” from your wet toothbrush that is laced with toothpaste. The buildup can get gross. This one is so simple to just take a towel and clean the base. And the bottom of the brush head has just a slight concave to it so there are no places to collect residue. Love that! Performance is awesome; yes I get that clean “out of the Dentist’s office” feeling every time I use it. Actually I can tell my teeth are becoming whiter! I’m using the IOS App and it connects and works every time I elect to use it. Yes, you do need to start the app and push the “Brush Now” button to get it going if you want to use the App. Incidentally for those that may be listening to Bluetooth speakers during your brush time… you can listen to your music and use the app at the same time! The App actually has taught me how to brush better!! It will show your progress on each quadrant of your mouth as you brush. On the App, the colors of the teeth change from blue, to light blue, to white as you are spending more time on each area. In addition the toothbrush itself has an LED light just below the brush head that changes color depending on your brushing pressure. Green is what you strive for, Red is too much pressure, and white is too light. The APP will also show where you used too much pressure. There is a timer on the brush as well as the APP with short burst pulses on the brush every 30 seconds as you progress to the 2 minutes target brushing period. It has proved to me that I used to brush more on the front of my teeth and missed so much of my back teeth. The results are evident after a week. I can definitely see how this app and feedback will help anyone do a better job of brushing. And it’s fun with a diagram of where you missed places, a final score, and positive feedback. Yes, this is a pricey toothbrush. However, I would still definitely recommend it for its quality, performance, and especially its ability to teach you how to best brush your teeth. I can honestly say my teeth are whiter, feel cleaner, and it has taught me something.

    A Superior Electric Toothbrush

I have never been an avid electric toothbrush user. I have always brushed my teeth the old school way with a cheap 3-dollar toothbrush and my favorite minty toothpaste. I thought about trying out this Oral-B electric toothbrush to see if electric toothbrushes were worth the price and hype. ================ ACCESSORIES: In the box, you will be receiving the electric toothbrush, 2 brush heads, a magnetic charging base, and a sturdy traveling case. If you are looking for the rechargeable traveling case, the Series 9 by Oral-B is the model you are looking for. As I do not travel too much, this one is perfect for me. The magnetic base makes charging the toothbrush easy as all you must do is place the toothbrush on top and leave. ================ BRUSHING EXPERIENCE AND FEATURES: I had a very pleasant first experience with this electric toothbrush. Do you know those rotary toothbrushes dentists use on you? That is what this electric toothbrush feels like. With the powerful micro-vibrations from the toothbrush, your teeth will be left feeling clean and smooth like you just left the dentist’s office. The interactive display is beautiful and provides feedback on your brushing. The display will let you know how long you have been brushing your teeth. And if you are below the recommended time (2:00 minutes), the display will let you know to keep brushing. What helps is the timer that fills as your toothbrush is in operation. You will be able to tell when you are finished when the timer is completely full. This electric toothbrush also comes with a ring light right above the power logo that lets you know if you are applying the correct pressure. Too much pressure and the light is red, not enough pressure, the light is white, and when you apply the perfect amount of pressure the light turns green! The electric toothbrush also comes with five different brushing modes for your teeth. Daily clean, sensitive, whiten, gum care, and intense. So, whether you are looking to whiten your teeth or simply clean them, there is a mode for you. ================ ORAL-B APPLICATION: The brushing experience can be enhanced with the Oral B App that is available for both IOS and Android devices. The app lets you keep track of your brushing journey and lets you set up your brushing goals. Along with that, the app will let you know if you are covering all your teeth evenly and will even provide you a score. I used the Android version of the Oral-B app so the experience might be different depending on what OS your phone runs on. I noticed people were having problems with the app from the reviews from the Play Store. I wanted to try it out for myself. I had an excellent experience the first time, but it went all downhill from there. The second time my brush would not connect to the app. I would have to re-add the toothbrush to my app since the app would rarely detect the toothbrush or any of the brushing I was doing. The tracking is completely off as well. For the price of these electric toothbrushes, the app is disappointing. I was wanting to use both the app and the toothbrush simultaneously for the optimum brushing experience but unfortunately, the Android app still has a long way to go. I will be using only the brush for the time being. NOTE: This review was added in August of 2020. These problems may be gone or still be occurring. Please check the app’s recent reviews for up to date reviews. ================ CONCLUSION: Overall, I had an excellent first time with this electric toothbrush. The app was a disappointment considering what the price for these electric toothbrushes are but the toothbrush itself works wonderfully. If you are still using a normal toothbrush and have the budget to get an electric one, I would recommend buying one. Your teeth and gums will thank you and you will be left with a polished and nice-looking smile.

I got the new Oral-B iO series 7 electric toothbrush to replace a 18 year old Oral_B electric toothbrush that still works great. This new iO Series 7 electric toothbrush has 5 smart modes (speeds) where my old Oral-B had two, fast and slow. The smart mode speeds are selected by one of two buttons on the tooth brush. There is a small (about 3/8 inch x 3/4) inch display where you can view your choice of cleaning choices. The cleaning choices are Daily Clean, Sensitive, Whiten, Gum Care and Intense. The other button is to turn on/off the unit. I've been using the new Oral-B iO Series 7 for a little over a week now, and it does a way better job at cleaning my teeth and gums than my old Oral_B did. I think it's a combination of the brushing head and the speed. The speed on the daily clean is faster than the fast speed on my old Oral-B. And the new brushing heads for the iO Series 7 are softer than my older brushing heads from my old Oral-B unit. At the top of the unit, right under where the brushing head attaches, there is a translucent ring that lights up in three different colors to let you know if your putting too much pressure on your teeth, just right pressure, or not enough pressure. If the ring lights up red, too much pressure, white, not enough pressure and green, just right. While you can kind of look down to see what color the light it, it's just easier to view in a mirror. When the unit is recharging the light is whitish in color and pulses every 5 seconds or so until it's fully recharged. There is also an app that you can download for your phone, either Android or Apple and you can pair your iO Series 7 toothbrush to the app and it can tell you on how well you're doing brushing your teeth. The iO Series 7 connects via Bluetooth. I tried numerous times to pair the brushing unit with my phone, and I could not get it to pair up. So I can't review on how well the app works or what it does exactly. With the Oral-B iO Series 7 kit, you get a charging dock which measures 2 3/8 wide, by 1/2 inch high with the power cord measuring 4', so should you should be able to place it anywhere on your bathroom sink area as it won't take up any space. The brushing unit is held in place by a magnet built into the dock. You also get two brushing heads and a carrying case which will hold the brushing unit along with two brushing heads. No place to store the charging unit though. I don't know how long the built in battery would last until it runs out of power and needs to be fully recharged as I put it right back in the dock when I'm done brushing my teeth. As far as I know, all previous Oral-B electric toothbrushes used the same mounting system for the replacement brushing heads. The iO Series 7 uses a totally different mounting system and this means you can't use the older style replacement brushing heads on the new Oral-B iO Series 7 electric toothbrush. This Oral-B iO Series 7 electric toothbrush is a big improvement over my way older Oral-B electric toothbrush. Overall, I highly recommend purchasing the new Oral-B iO Series 7 electric toothbrush.

Overall, this is a great product. This is the first electric toothbrush I have had the pleasure of using. Setup is simple, plug in the wireless charger, and place the toothbrush on the magnetic puck. Once fully charged (as indicated by the battery icon on the LCD display), slip one of the two included brush heads onto the body of the toothbrush and press the lower button to select your speed setting. There is daily clean, sensitive, whiten, intense+ and gum care. Once you land on your preferred setting, press the power button and go. While brushing, there is a counter on the LCD display that indicated the amount of time you've been brushing. For satisfactory time is at the 2:00 minute mark. There is also a face that will go from frown to smiley indicating how well you've done. There is an LED ring around the top of the brush body which lights green when you're applying proper pressure, and red when you're applying too much pressure. White indicates not enough or no pressure. Unlike a regular tooth brush, with an electric, you want to move the brush head around your teeth, but keep it in a linear motion, and do not "brush" as you normally would, allow the mechanical head to do the work for you. This takes a bit of getting used to, but after a few time, you'll be wondering how you ever lived without it. What makes this particular toothbrush special is also one of it's biggest faults. The app. You pair the brush to your mobile phone, download the associated Oral-B app and the magic happens (or at least is supposed to). With the app open and your phone close by, selecting the "brush now" button begins walking you through the process. The head has a pressure and location sensor and the app has a layout of teeth which aims at showing you what you've cleaned and where you need to clean before finishing. I found this works fairly well within an acceptable margin of error, but overall does a pretty great job of coaching you along. There is a history section that give you a percentage rating on how well you did, 100% being the best. It also asks you questions like "did your gums bleed?" so it can help you determine the proper settings to use each day. Where this broke down for me was the history. If i had my phone close by but the app closed, it failed to record any of my brushing sessions when I clicked the "sync" button. It only recorded my sessions when the app was open and I've clicked the "Brush Now" button. This is a huge annoyance as I don't always have my phone sitting on the counter when I'm brushing my teeth. Improvement here is a must for this to really shine. Despite the app being less than optimal, the overall experience was great. I love how clean my mouth feels after using this brush, and I don't need the app to ensure I'm doing a good job, the 2:00 indicator is fine enough for my needs. The app would be more useful if it actually kept history properly, but this is not a deal breaker for me. Weight, function and ease of use makes this product a recommendation from me to friends and family looking for a solid electric toothbrush. It does what counts.

I was thrilled to get my hands on this toothbrush. I brush and floss almost daily, so I was eager to compare this to how I brush. Does the Oral-B do a better job or my everyday toothbrush. I must admit, there's really no comparison. What this device does in a matter of 3 minutes is hard to imagine unless you try it yourself. After using it for one week, it felt like I had just come from that 6 month deep clean from my dentist. I was blown away. The instructions tell you to expect minor bleeding and that it'll take 1-2 weeks for your gums to get adjusted to the brush. I've heard this is pretty standard for these types of devices. This toothbrush has some great features: daily clean, whitening, gum massage, etc. I loved the idea of all the features it offered while allowing you to purchase additional heads for family. Another benefit is that this has Bluetooth capability enabled and a downloadable app. Out of the box, I noticed it has a great sturdy feel. It's heavy duty, yet not overwhelming if a 10 year old held this. The vibration is a bit different if you've never used an electric toothbrush before. I admit I fall into this category and am still getting familiar with this sensation. It comes with two heads, charger station and travel case. It's small enough to travel with and not take up too much space in a luggage bag. Just a heads up - there's a small and I mean small gap between the brush attachment and the device. I didn't know that at first, but Oral-B does state this in the directions. I'm glad I read this and didn't try to forcibly shove it on.   Even though I brush everyday, my dentist highly recommended an electric toothbrush like this. Honestly, the price is what kept me from purchasing it. At $199, it's certainly pricey, but it does a fantastic job and cleans far superior to a normal brush. Again, I can't compare this to previous models, but I do know Oral-b is a pioneer and leader in this industry, so they put out great products. I plan on using this everyday and purchasing multiple brush heads to get the most out of it. It's really cool because it's Bluetooth enabled and has an app. I find this really beneficial because it can show you how you're brushing. For example - too aggressive, too weak, or just right. Too rough omits a red light, not enough is white and just right shows a green light on the toothbrush. It provides great feedback for what areas you should work on in your mouth.I noticed I was concentrating too heavily on the right upper side, so now I know to try and make it more even. It's crazy to think, because it told me this after a few uses so who knows how long I've been doing that! It doesn't take long to charge the battery. The only downside is that I've noticed the battery life reduces by 10% after each use. That's not a big deal, but it'd be nice to go at least a week on one charge. It's not a deal breaker because you can do what my wife said and just leave the charge station plugged in and always place the toothbrush on it. Pros: Strong clean Multiple cleaning settings (everyday, whiten, gum massage, deep, sensitive) Emits a green, white or red tone to show how you're brushing 30 second brush time and alerts you to move on Bluetooth app Travel container Brush heads are sturdy Cons: Takes your gums about a week to get use to Battery length (decreases 10% after each use) Have to purchase replacement brush heads Price Final Thoughts: I highly recommend this device. It took only 3 days for me to say "wow, that's a great clean." It sounds completely cheesy, but it's true. The price can be extremely intimidating, but your entire family can have their own brush attachment. Breaking down the price for a family of 5 comes to roughly $40 and some change. It's something the entire family can use and benefit from, while keeping the dentist happy.

I LOVE this toothbrush. I debated whether to buy the Oi 7, or splurge on the Oi 9. They are expensive toothbrushes! I opted for the 7 once I compared all the features between the 7, 8 and 9. I'm all for top notch, but I am also practical. So I felt the 7 would do the job. My teeth have never felt cleaner, and I love the app so I can actually see how well, or poorly, I am brushing. I actually look forward to brushing my teeth now. I love that the rim light tells me when I am brushing too hard, not hard enough, or just right. And, I like thst I can changectge color of the rim light. This toothbrush is definitely a good value for the health of my teeth, gums and mouth. I highly recommend it!

The Oral-B iO Series 7 provides effective cleaning that manual toothbrushes cannot outperform. It is easy to use, holds enough battery to not have to charge for about 5 days (when brushing twice daily), and reaches all areas of the mouth due its small brush head. This type of brush head contains the same rotational oscillation as those used at dental offices for enhanced cleaning. The toothbrush pulsates every 30 seconds to let you know to move to the next quadrant area of your mouth. The toothbrush will automatically turn off after 5 minutes of continuous brushing - this is more than enough time to properly brush all areas of your teeth (posterior, anterior, and top side of the teeth). The Oral-B iO Series 7 toothbrush is at the top of the line in comparison to other rechargeable electric toothbrushes - strong build quality, simple charging, and accessible buttons. It has encouraged me to brush more efficiently and with the right amount of pressure thanks to the LED light that illuminates different colors depending on the force that is acted upon the brush head. Healthier gums, cleaner teeth, and proper brushing habits - you cannot go wrong with the Oral-B iO Series 7. This is the best confidence booster for your smile!

I've used Sonicare for a couple years, and revert back to a simple manual toothbrush every time because I felt I can clean better myself. Never did I know electric toothbrushes literally brush your teeth for you!!!! NEVER KNEW THAT. Sonicare never did, and I had a $200 Sonicare brush and it always felt weak unless I brush hard as well. I went to a new local dentist for a cleanup and they asked me what toothbrush I use and if electric or not. I told them I use a regular soft manual brush. They said they give out free Oral B brush heads if I ever got an electric Oral B. I ran to Bestbuy to buy one only to find out it's not the same head, but GOD this tooth brush is crazy good at cleaning it's more than worth its price! So much that I'm gifting one to each my parents just so they try out how good this product works.

I intended to buy the top of the line - thinking it would have different brushing power. While it has more modes and a color OLED display, io7, 8 and 9 are essentially the same - and the io7 is a bargain at 200 bucks given its power, I am a diehard Sonicare user and obsessed with devices to help keep my teeth and gums in good shape. The latest Sonicare set me back 300 bucks and it’s super, yet the Oral B just feels like a more sophisticated, modernized and effective device. I like the feedback of the LED light, the haptic nudge to guide you and the round brush. Agree with most folks that a cap for the brush would be welcome and the magnetic base works, yet wish it felt stickier. The device is easily knocked off. The travel case is OK and Sonicare has the edge with the USB charger integrated into its case - an awesome feature for traveling. A great toothbrush and maybe the best out there.

This is the first time I tried the Oral B version. After using Philips for many years, my teeth felt cleaner after I switched. The app shows you where you need to focus more by showing a map of upper and lower teeth and if you use too little or not enough pressure. Pretty amazing technology.

Replaced an older Oral B toothbrush with this Series 7. We picked this over the series 8/9 as we didn't need the extra features of the others. This seemed a better fit for us and a much better price. I must admit we were surprised at how much more powerful these i/o series are! It actually makes our teeth feel like we just had a cleaning at a dentist. Battery lasts many days before needing a charge. Haven't used the bluetooth connection for the app. Very happy with our purchase!
