We're so happy with Orby TV! Box arrived exactly when they said it would with easy packaging. Scheduling installation was a breeze on the orbytv.com website….didn’t even have to speak to anyone. Installers called before, showed up on time, showed ID, were very courteous, successfully installed in frigid weather. We activated the service from the orbytv App which I downloaded easily from the orbytv website. Picture color and quality are a big upgrade, commercials aren't blasting loud, and channel selection is great – doubled the number of local channels thanks to the antenna. We love the clear, easy program guide with descriptions. Of course the low cost is great! The App is so simple - I can pause my service anytime without needing to speak to anyone and don’t have to worry about being locked into a contract! The box is great - the service is awesome. Highly recommend.

Good Overall Value if you are not a TVholic

Overall as a value purchase, I am pleased. Does a nice job of receiving satellite channels. Really decent selection of stations especially at the $50 level. No sports channels at all though. Missing some features of the big boys such as series recording of shows. Also it will freeze on some occasions and a reboot is necessary which obviously interrupts the show. Over the Air is another story. When installer left, I couldn't get any local channels. I tried a better antenna, still nothing. In my area, I should be able to get 20 plus channels so I reconfigured the system and bought a couple splitters. Now I get 20 to 30 channels pretty consistently depending on weather. It is aggravating that the installer didn't do this but anyway I'm up and going. The antenna that comes with the system has no amplifier so is limited in reaching stations but I get 10 to 15 channels with it. Being able to record OTA with Orby is a nice feature though. Another aggravation is that with OTA channels that start on the half hour sometimes record on the hour so you get the wrong show. Not sure what is up with this. I could not recommend this to a constant heavy TV user because it only has 2 tuners and the previously mentioned shortcomings but if you are a light TV watcher like myself who wants to pay a very reasonable price(and doesn't miss sports TV) and save 100+ a month and can deal with a few aggravations, then ORBY is for you. Good Luck! (Orby I hope you are listening)

ORBY Satellite TV: cheap, excellent value, ++++++

As of 11/09/2019 my installation (called ORBY Customer Support) cost $150 + $100 for single TV. That $250 includes antennas (there are 2... see below), coax cable, hardware, and install. I bought extra receivers at Best Buy (3 more - up to total of 4 allowed for 4 TVs) before the install. I watched the ads and Best Buy and others had 50% off sales on and off the last month so. The 3rd party ORBY install guy that came out was GREAT! When he was done (including demo/training on how to operate remote, TV menu system, etc) we were ready to go! I told him I had 3 more receivers (for which the installer would charge $50 more each) and he showed me how to do it myself (no brainer!) using the existing cable tv wiring in my house - can you beat that!. So... ONE cable comes from the 2 roof antennas (one small satellite dish + UHF-type antenna for local channels) combined on same mast - you's never know it unless you are sharp-eyed. Signals are combined on this one coax cable down to the house basement (or wherever you want it to go) which the installer puts in. He did a very nice, clean job. You can't really tell there's a wire coming down from the roof as he ran the antenna coax cable under the house corner siding! If you have more than one TV (therefore more than one receiver "box" near TV), a signal SPLITTER at the is at end of this one down-coming cable that splits out to the 2 to 4 other receivers. The installer gave me the splitter FREE (not sure this is normal but we hit it off) since I had more receivers already and I didn't want to spend $50 install fee each. REALLY simple to install: step 1. run antenna coax wire from splitter to ORBY receiver near TV (already existed in our house since we had cable TV to begin with), 2. plug receiver into 110 volt outlet. Installer gave me hints how to connect/install receivers for free basically. My total cost for one time install and equipment for FOUR (4)TVs came to $150 (basic installation including local Over The Air channels + digital satellite antennas) + $100 for 1st receiver from Orby + $150 (for 3 more receivers at 50% off sale at Best Buy) equals= $400 one time for 4 TVs + coffee and donuts :-). After 3 days we are happy with the product. PRE-ORBY: Bottom Line: We replaced a $199.46 monthly fee for 4 TVs from Comcast/Affinity (Internet, NON-HD TV package, NO PHONE (we use cell phones), NO DVR, only 1 TV with on-demand) . POST-ORBY: One time ORBY cost for same 4 TVs $400, plus $40/month service (no plan, can switch in and out of ORBY service via internet settings as often as you want) , plus Comcast/Xfinity internet (cost TBD but I imagine they will carve my wallet for some $80/month for it). Still no DVR (that's OK with us: ORBY charges $4/month per TV that's optioned with DVR service - ORBY receiver type actually determines that - and the ORBY receivers can be moved around). Channel choices? Excellent for us in that the cable channels we traditionally watched are covered (including Turner Classic Movies (TCM) which Comcast just took away from us unannounced like they've done with some 6 or more other channels in the past year or so. Grrrrrr.) AND, lo-and-behold we got over 60+ local channels in the NY area! LETS HOPE THIS NEW COMPANY - "ORBY" - STAYS IN BUSINESS! Too good to be true!
