I bought this guitar as a small upgrade from the Behringer beginner's set I had been playing for the last six years. I picked it because I love the look of the Les Paul, but can't afford one. I was definitely surprised by the quality of the guitar, and the sound is comparable to my friend's Epiphone. This guitar can really stand on it's own, and for the price, it's perfect for playing as a hobby. The picture shows white plates, but I actually received one with black plates instead, but I think it looks much more sleek with the black plating.

I'm by no means a guitar expert, but I've played off an on for the last 25 years or so. I had been looking for a good, affordable Les Paul copy and came across the Oscar Schmidt OE20. Hardest part of my decision was finding reliable information on the internet about them and whether to go with the Black or Gold Top version! Anyway, the guitar looks awesome and sounds great through the Fender Mustang amp I picked up elsewhere.. I plan on keeping this instrument for a long time. I would definitely recommend the OE20 for beginners or experienced players looking for a lot of bang for their buck!

I don't buy budget guitars and expect much from them. I expect to do lots of set up work, fret work, pickup swaps, intonation, etc..to get them to play and sound nice. This guitar purchase was no exception. First off though the guitar wasn't quite as advertised. The stock photo is wrong. The guitar came with no diamond inlay on the headstock, black pick guard, black pickup rings and a black switch tip. Not necessarily a bad thing, but the stock photo is wrong. It may not be the exact guitar you are looking for appearance wise. That said, the construction is flawless and paint is excellent. The fit and finish of this guitar is nearly perfect. All I had to do was set the action a bit lower and it's ready to play! The sound is fantastic and versatile for many styles of music. It's got a pretty good weight to it like a good Les Paul style guitar should, it is not chambered. The neck is very comfortable and the fretwork is great. It's definitely worth at least twice it's price. I don't say that about any budget guitar. This is one killer deal. A fabulous player with great looks and feels great too. Definitely worth buying and adding to your guitar collection.,It would make a stellar beginner guitar but is also something with a tweak or two I would use in a live, pro setting. It's that good.

I received the guitar and was disappointed at first. All the creme accents pictured in the add were gone. All the accents were black. This included the pickgard, pickup rings, switch ring and cap. But on the other hand, the action was setup really nice and the guitar played and sound was good. So I ended up keeping it and will buy the creme parts and install myself.
