Awesome blender with great price

I liked the first one so I was happy to see the same model was available. I took the new one from the box so I could wash it. I took the blade off and when I placed it on the counter, the bottom silver support fell off. I went to put it back in place and a piece of glass fell on the counter. I am disappointed because the quality of the new blender is less than the first blender. I will be returning to BBuy and give considerable thought to replacing with an identical unit. This blender, while being the same model was made cheaper than the first. Quality control failure???
