The overall construction of the blender is nice chromed plastic housing and glass blender container while the individual smoothie cup is smoked plastic. I found this device to be easy to use and one of the reasons I got this was because it makes salsa - something that I just love. There is a preset button for salsa (plus smoothies, etc) which is nice; you can taylor your preferences with manual controls. Noise level is not as loud as I thought but I have no idea if this device is noisier than usual. One thing I did not like was the buttons were not backlit. In low light situations, it was almost impossible to read what button was what when you are a newbie using this. I'm sure once you are used to it, you'll know the buttons by feel. I just think in this day and age that backlit buttons should be the norm, not the exception. Not a deal breaker but when even inexpensive laptops have this feature, you'd expect that kitchen appliances would move toward a more user-friendly set up. This was fairly easy to clean and it works well. I'm going to see if I can make spaghetti sauce/tomato base for italian cooking by using this to process the tomatoes and chopped veggies like salsa - now that would be a home run for making low-carb, no-added sugar pasta sauces! Overall, very nice.

Stopped working all of sudden

I think it could blend up a small tank. The glass pitcher is heavy, which is nice. The base could use better grip though. It tends to slide a little and not be as sturdy as it could be. A damp dishcloth helped keep it from moving around on my counter. It will make smoothies with ease, and frozen fruit is no match for it. I made creamy tomato soup by taking my normal chunky recipe and blending it up. Very smooth, like a bisque. I think that's because the blades move in different directions instead of just one way. Instead of the standard 1-10 settings, the buttons tell you what they are used for, and they are surprisingly accurate. The pulse feature is nice as well (especially if you;re a big kid at heart like me) The blade could be easier to remove. There's a trick to it, but once you get the hang of it, it's easy and cleanup goes smooth. If you need a blender, you cant go wrong.

The base motor is lighter weight than the 6 cup glass jar. The lightweight does not diminish the quality of the desired outcome of the food processing. I am able to set the texture of my food from thick to thin, by pulsing or using a preset command. I can make my smoothies automatically by using the preset buttons. Speeds can vary from high, medium and low to get the correct consistency. The 1200 watt motor is powerful enough to process the most dense food product. Cleaning the Oster Pro® 1200 Plus Blend-N-Go® Smoothie Cup, Brushed Nickel - Brushed Nickel is as simple as taking the jar assembly apart and washing and drying the parts. If your unit is not turning on, it might be because the unit is not getting enough power from the wall outlet where it is currently plugged in or the wall outlet itself is a non working outlet. To remedy this issue, check if there is no physical damage on its cord and if there's none, try unplugging the unit and let it rest for 3-5 minutes. Plug the unit into a different wall outlet and see if it will work. Do not use it with any extension cords, power strips and power converters or inverters as it may affect the unit's performance.
