Didn’t even get to use it. Opened it before thanksgiving to make my sofrito and it wouldn’t even turn on. Got insurance on it for nothing because the manager at Best Buy made me buy another blender and wouldn’t let me use my insurance to get a new one even though it never even got used.

You can pay more for a blender, but I can't imagine why you would. This isn't fancy, but it has all the power you need for most blending tasks and for your morning smoothies. It comes with a Blend and Go cup, but like most other cup-based blenders I've used, I've found I get much better results for fibrous fruits and vegetables and greens using the pitcher. It is pretty loud, but for the amount of power that the motor cranks out, that's to be expected. I also really like the look of this blender, It's very sleek and looks and feels like it was made to last.

It’s difficult to get excited about a kitchen blender, until you need one! I’ve owned a half dozen blenders over the years, which tells you none of them last. I should qualify that further by saying that none of the ones I purchased lasted. I’m frugal and tend to try and find a balance of price to performance. As I’ve gotten older and somewhat wiser I’ve added ‘quality’ to that list, which always comes at a higher cost (usually). I say ‘usually’ because the last blender I bought was over a hundred dollars and was a piece of junk. That blender, who’s brand name I’ll only hint to (hint: martial artist), lasted 6 months and fell apart. Not only was the product quality horrendous the company’s customer support was the worst I’d ever experienced. Anyway, fast forward and I now own the Oster Pro® 1200 Plus Blend-N-Go® blender. I’ve owned it for a month, and so far I am impressed. It is far better quality than the one it replaces. Time will tell how well it holds up, but given the materials at the stress points I think it will last a long time. Pros Glass Pitcher - I love the pitcher! I never like plastic pitchers on blenders. Glass doesn’t scratch like plastic does, nor does it weep chemicals like plastic does, glass isn’t porous like plastic is, glass is easier to clean. Glass is hands-on the best material for the job. Metal parts where it matters. The aforementioned blender I owned by another highly marketed company was made almost entirely of plastic. It died an early life. I decided to give that blender an autopsy. What I found was lazy manufacturing quality, and cheap materials. The “karate” brand blender used plastic gears, and power transfer parts. The Oster on the other hand uses metal parts where it matters. I haven’t had to take this one apart but I can see that the power transfer is metal to metal which will last a long time and won’t degrade performance. 10 year warranty on drive mechanism The included smoothie cup can double as the blender container by attaching the blade bottom. After blending simply turn the cup over, remove the blade bottom, and replace with a sealable top drinking lid. Smart blending technology is really cool! The pre-programmed settings provide a simple way to blend smoothies and other concoctions. It’s such a simple idea, yet so useful! Very strong motor, yet reasonably quiet. Also I noted that when blending the ‘tunnel’ created in the mixture is well formed. I don’t know if this is of any relevance, but it would seem to me this indicates the blades and the interior of the pitcher work in harmony to blend quickly and efficiently. Cons Printed documentation. Maybe I’m missing something but I got a simple pamphlet included with the blender with no instructions for use. Fortunately the Internet has a PDF version, plus it wasn’t too difficult to figure out. Body material. The one area I think Oster skimped on is the case shell which may look like brushed nickel, but is actually painted plastic. I get it, at this price point cost considerations come into play and I’d rather have metal parts where they are necessary. Which in this case the shell is not one of. Just a minor thing, but I mention it since it will likely get scratched. And that’s it! The pros far outweigh the cons. If this blender is in your price range, I say get it! It’s been happily churning out margaritas and daiquiris for weeks now, crushing ice like a monster - it’s actually fun to use! I think it’s a really good buy.

This replaced my old blender. It has a larger solid glass bowl and more than enough power for any blender job. It's a BLENDER and a very good one. I use it for making milk shakes and smoothies mainly. Very solid build and pause cycles crush large ice cube fine with just a little hand downward pressure on the top. The individual juicer cup is just the right size for large milk shakes that my grandson likes. Remember it's a blender and a solid powerful one with a few extra cycles very useful and does a great job. Highly recommend.

It mixes, it chops, it blends, it crushes. We made mixed drinks, fruit smoothies, chopped up some veggies, crushed ice. Good powerful system, easy clean up. Looks nice, too, so we leave it out on one of our kitchen countertops. It’s a nice bonus to have the “blend-n-go” cup to make stuff but not have to clean up the bigger glass jar, especially when we’re making something smaller. I grew up with my mom using Oster products, so it’s a nice hit of nostalgia to see it in my own kitchen, and to know it’s a trusted brand.

When it comes to blenders, things are pretty straight forward. First the design of the blender is nice and sleek. The base has a brushed chrome finish, the glass container is heavy which to me shows that it's made of quality material, and the top covers are black and clear respectively. It also comes with a large to go cup for morning smoothies I guess...? The to go cup itself can be used to blend so there's no added step of pouring the contents from the blender to the to go container. Simply remove the blade base from the blender and attach it to the to go container. To test it out, I decided to make a smoothie. I wanted to see how the blades handled frozen fruits, so that's exactly what I went with. I took frozen pineapples, mangoes, bananas, and strawberries. I added a little orange juice. The blender had a smoothie button, so I pressed the button, and waited for the blender to go through its cycles. The fruit was blended evenly without any frozen chunks. Next I decided to use the food chop option. I placed some onions, garlic, and green peppers and the my surprise the blender did a pretty good job of dicing up the veggies without turning them into a paste. I do have on minor gripe and this is what's keeping it from getting 5 stars. The top clear plastic part of the cover leaves two gaps when joined with the black cover. I'm not sure if this is a design flaw or poor engineering, but if you pile your ingredients near the top, the contents that have been blended do start shooting out form the two gaps. It's a minor gripe, but it's also an inconvenience. All in all it's a nice blender. For the price, it will do what's required.

This brand has never disappointed me, and they didn't start today. first thing right out of the box easy to set up easy to use. The first smoothie I made I crushed up some ice blackberries blueberries strawberries and a little bit of yogurt topped off with a little almond milk. Blend it up perfectly came out to perfection. I highly recommend one for your kitchen. Nice simple easy and clean up wasn't terrible either.

Never got to use it box came all taped up with best buy tape all over the box. Then tried to return it had such a hassle. Will never buy anything on line from best buys!!!!-

This is an awesome little blender. We use this almost every morning to make our shakes and smoothies. So many functions and option to choose from and the drinks come out fantastic. Rarely is there any chunks remaining in the drink. The smoothie cup is a nice addition and it has had its fare share of use, as well. We have retired our previous blender for this one. Highly recommend!

It has only been a few days since I received my Oster Pro 1200 Blend and Go as part of the Best Buy Tech Insider network, but it is such an upgrade to our OLD blender that I just had to get this review posted! The Oster 1200 is really nice. I don't get excited about kitchen appliances, but this one is worth looking at. It comes with a real glass pitcher, not plastic and is 6 cup in size. It has plenty of pre-programmed buttons so you can select the perfect chopping, mixing and blending speed that works for what you are doing. Green/frozen smoothies, food chop/salsa, milkshakes, low, medium, high and pulse are the options. Unlike our old blender, we don't have to constantly stop and stir the contents around with a spoon. The blender is able to so all the work itself. Even though we haven't used it for a long period of time, I can already tell this one is a keeper. So far, I haven't found anything that would cause me to have any concerns about recommending this blender to anyone in the market for one.

This blender is by far the best one I've ever used. Yes.... I've had a lot of blenders. The fact that it has a little cup that you can attach to it makes it that much better for protein shakes and smoothies. Overall I'm very impressed with the sleek look and design, and ease of use.

This is the worst blender I have every purchased. This is NOT A bang for your buck kind of deal. This blender doesn’t blend. Horrible

I regularly drink protein drinks and this blender does the trick. It’s powerful and makes quick works of ice and fruit. It’s also easy to clean. I would recommend this.

My expectations were not high when I received the Oster Pro 1200 Plus Blend-N-Go® Smoothie Cup, it is a $70 blender and I have one that is far more expensive. I kept I mind that it is not a fair comparison, but this is just not a great blender. The Oster Pro 1200 is not as loud as expected but still much louder than the more expensive blenders. Sound can vary quite a bit according to what you are blending so I compared it with nothing in it to the more expensive unit. Does it work? Sure, it blends fine for a basic blender but the power is relatively low. It did bog down on a heavier load but kept most of its speed. One exception is the medium power did not seem to maintain an even speed all the time. It has an appearance of brushed metal but it is really, really cheap plastic. It has the usual options on the keypad and they work okay. However, the keys are weak and flimsy and whole keypad flexes back and forth when you press a key. I do not see how it can hold up. The container is all glass and I had no problems with the lid staying on (some online reviews state this is a problem.) Oster includes a smoothie cup for those who find that important ( I do not.) Surprisingly, Oster includes a 3 year satisfaction guarantee although I see some reviews of Oster not honoring cracking of the container. I cannot speak to the validity of that but it is in the reviews on the Oster web page. So would I recommend it? Absolutely not. I can forgive some of the inadequacies because of the low price. What is unforgiveable is the manufacturer blatantly misleads you of the power. A lot of blender manufacturers do it in one way or another but it is just dishonest. On all 4 sides and the top of the box, it is emblazoned with 1200 watts of power. That is not true. The unit clearly shows that at its max power, it draws 7.5 amps. At 120 volts, the wattage 900 watts ( amps X voltage will give you watts.) And that is the max draw – that means on start up to get the motor going. I would guess it probably drawing 5 to 6 amps running or 600 to 720 watts. Shop vac manufacturers have been doing the same thing for years and many of the blender companies do the same thing. It is misleading and dishonest. Now Oster may respond with a bunch of fuzzy math but it comes down to science – you cannot product more power than you are taking in. Pass on the Oster Pro 1200, there are plenty in this price range and some that much better for a little more money. Try to find a company that is a bit more transparent of the power and concentrate on the true features, functions and benefits.

A very capable blender. Makes great smoothies and crushes ice well. Six cup, glass jar is a great size for one or two servings; the included travel is excellent for a make-and-run drink. The blade is made to work harder than a traditional design, but the overall setup requires caution for assembly and cleaning, since you have to insert the gasket over the sharp blade. Obviously not for use by children, but a very nice blender for the price!

Blends really good and crushes ice. But its noisy and i always had issues placing it down correctly.

Working good so far. Definitely an upgrade from my previous blender which still works but not nearly as well. I really like the glass container, much better than my older one which was plastic. I was always worried when washing it that it might crack or break. Or that I would bump it and break it. The glass one seems much sturdier and it also has the smaller smoothie cup if you prefer. Seems to be good quality and a reasonable price. Get one for you and a friend too.

Bought this blender because of the stellar reviews on 01/06/2021 and as of today 10/01/2021 the blender stopped working. Wife was making the usual morning smoothies when it began making an awful screeching sound. Immediately turned it off, removed glass from blender motor base, and right away noticed the motor inside the assembly was loose and dancing around inside of the motor base like a large maracas. This brings it to a total of 8 months of operation-which is pretty unacceptable for the price range. Very disappointed with the product, especially when previous blender lasted 14 years.
