Out of the box the cord felt heavy duty. I used this charging cord/cable for less than 2 weeks then the 8pin connector just popped off the cord. We didn't abuse, jam or anything it just popped off. We have had cheaper non-Original manufacturers last longer but have the same issue of pin connector just popping off. Our orginal Apple charge cords split just before the connectors but still work! I hope Otterbox can work with Apple to make a certified heavy duty cord worth the money I paid for mine ($24.99) and last just as long as the charge cords that come with the Apple phones!

Looks sturdy but didn’t last for 6months

Great even for the iPad Pro 12.9"

My stock Apple Lightning cable was cracking, so I tried a couple other cables from Amazon,but they couldn't charge the larger iPad as fast as I use it. I purchased this Otterbox cable from Best Buy and it works great. It might charge a LITTLE bit slower than the Apple cable but it's fast enough to at least keep up with my use, and I think it will be a lot more durable than the Apple cable.
