I have another version of this case and that part did come off.

The first one had a rough life. It managed to keep the IPhone in one piece for 3 years. Phone looks brand new. Thanks to the Box.

This case does the trick. My son loves it. It is durable and has a great feel in your hands. The color is a perfect match for his iPhone as well.
