Unfortunately, although the iPad fit the OtterBox, none of the function buttons were accessible with this OtterBox and I had to return it.

Ok, but probably overkill

It is difficult to install. (Good instructions on YouTube) It is really rugged. So if you going to handle the tablet roughly, you probably need this. However, it is too much for ordinary, everyday use. Also the volume buttons do not line up well with the case.

Check out the links below for more information on those cases. The buttons not lining up is concerning. This review is for the iPad Air and you mentioned that you have the iPad Air 2. My wife should have let me know but didn't until we were well past the warrantee. She wanted the same one again so I got it for her; after all she is the user. After I bought her a complete new cover, I learned they also just sell the top. I could have saved a few dollars if I knew that earlier.
