I dropped my phone and the screen still cracked!

Disappointing Screen Protector
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Purchased this case to have more rugged protection for my new iPhone 8 Plus - and was fine with the expected bulkiness of the case, it felt great for drop protection, very secure... but returned it a couple of days later due to issues with the screen protector; the openings in the screen protector allow dust to get in. Within hours of putting my phone in the case, dust/debris started to collect inside the case/was visible and dirty looking on the screen. Not only is this very annoying, but we discovered over time that this can cause your screen to get scratched up (we took the 1 year old Otterbox case off my husband's phone and saw lots and lots of scratches; his phone was not pristine like we were expecting after keeping it in an Otterbox Defender). So I returned it and got a LifeProof FrĒ case instead (so far so good - it's thin, yet feels well protected, since screen is fully enclosed/no gaps, it stays clean, no dust getting inside, sound is good, and bonus is the water resistance).

secure grip on phone
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.first thing you wanna do is remove the plastic screen protector, and use a glass one instead. And i have the full display glass one and my phone is not loose or sliding around, maybe half a milimeter up and down if i push hard. But on the side of the screen there is a gap between the fone and case, and you have to use foam tape or something to block it out to keep the seal from collecting dust. And the case edge has a very raised bevel which means its difficult accessing the corner of the display. Other tough cases can have lowed bevel height. All of this is not enough attention to detail, like no screen mesh to protect speakers from dust/debris. And the design hasn't been updated like ever, which means it still has glaring flaws, for example: each time you open the case it loosens the outer rubber that seals around the front, which compromises the functionality. Also pressing on the side buttons is really difficult and you have to press twice, other cases are better. Atleast it is definitevely smaller in size from other tough cases.

It is handy to clip it off your waist when you are on the go. I will say that it is bulky and make the iPhone 8 Plus wonder that what it should. Not to mention that it does make it heavier as well. I don’t recommend it for those who are trying to get the best slim protection. I would recommend the commuter for that.

So naturally after I just spent $950 on an 8 plus I got another defender. Not only does this model allow so much dust and grime to get under the screen, I took the case off to clean it and discovered scratches all along the bottom of the phone screen from side to side. I am very unhappy as I buy a case to keep my phone looking like brand new. This is my fifth iPhone and first time any of them have been damaged. Not happy at all. Switched to Lifeproof. Otter box, you best look into this design flaw
