The unit has a pretty good warranty and you will have to place a claim for replacement of the rubber protector. The case protects well against bumps and daily wear and tear.

We apologize that the rubber silicone on your Defender series seems to have an expiration date! Our cases are not necessarily designed to be infallible so much as they are intended to absorb the brunt of any impacts that might otherwise jeopardize your device.
