They are not water proof or sealed. So dust can get inbetween the case and the phone requiring you to open and clean evey once in a while they can be bulky aslo. But if you are like and drop your phone across the parking lot or room all the time then you need this case

Choose Another Color

I have been using the Otterbox Defender series for my iPhones and iPads for many years. It is the best water resistant FULL protection case with a BUILT-IN screen protector on the market. Having said that, I recommend choosing another color than the blue/aqua option. The aqua color became dirty quickly and due to the porous material, I cannot get it clean. It looks filthy. I have had light grey cases before that I was able to clean and use for years. After one month, I am replacing this case now.

We always suggest cleaning our products using mild soap and water (never with abrasive or corrosive cleaners that may damage the case).

Have had an OtterBox Defender on all my IPhones.

Drop phone often and never have to worry about damage while protected by OtterBox. I have a mount on my mountain bike handlebars and use IPhone GPS on the trails. I have fallen and phone went flying a couple of times. One time it landed in a pile of rocks. No damage at all!
