After reading mixed reviews, I thought I would weigh-in. I have been using the case for a week or so. YES. The case adds thickness and overall size to the phone. A thin case offers little or no protection, and is therefore useless. Normal living (at least with me) requires substantial protection for my phones. After all, they are made largely of GLASS, right? I know people who have already cracked their iPhones in less than 6 months, requiring a repair that costs 10 times what a case cost...and I would have been one of those. This case took a few minutes to work onto my phone, GOOD. It's not going to easily come off. It fits well. It covers the volume & sleep/wake buttons but only makes them a little stiffer, which in turn makes them less likely to press accidentally, such as when in my pocket. I won't use the holster/belt clip, not because it's hard to use, but because I don't want to advertise that I HAVE the phone! I do like the holster for standing the phone up while watching video. I might have angled it a little further, as it's kind of vertical in this mode, but putting it on a higher surface solves this. This case has a cover for the ring/silent switch that opens from the back, which I find easier to open the flap to operate the switch than my Otterbox for my 5c. This is the first iPhone that I had with a fingerprint sensor, and yet it operates reliably through the thin plastic on the front cover. I have no trouble using the controls and notifications screens (swipe up from the bottom or down from the top) or any other functions. I am happy!

I have been using OtterBox to protect my iPhones for a long time. the Defender Case is the best because the rubber backing to it will not easily slide around when you have to put it up on a car dashboard when you have bad cell service. It also completely covers the screen and protects from scratches. Sound quality is good. Also comes with a belt clip for those who don't want to put their phones in their pockets.

So at first I ended up peeling the film off of the home button, Best Buy gave me a replacement so that was nice. The case is sturdy and protects the phone well. It's just very bulky. I got a morphie air for everyday use and keep the otter box case for Mtn biking and outdoorsy stuff that may result in my phone getting beat up. I have no doubt it will protect my phone. Another slightly annoying thing is there is a mm of space between the screen and the screen protector which drives me nuts, another reason I went with morphie for everyday use. I'm sure the space is to accommodate use of another screen protector.

If you a prone to drop your phone, this is the case for you. After several drops, there is no damage to the phone. It is rather bulky, but it protects the phone.

I purchased this case for my iPhone 7 Plus. I have used the otter box defender case for years (last 3 iPhone's). This case is not as bulky as previous models, and still has the same great protection. My previous phones have been dropped numerous times and even thrown by one of my kids. The phone still looked new when I took it out of the case to check. Otterbox also has excellent customer service when warranty replacements are requested. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because the case for the 7 seems to get dust under the screen protector easier than previous models.

This phone case was easy to install and seems to provide excellent protection for my iPhone 7 plus. It's a little bulky, but if that doesn't bother you, it's great for what it was designed for. I have not noticed any reduced sensitivity from the built in screen protector and it works just fine. If you are looking for a tuff case to protect your phone, this is it.

Works great - a little bulky but I would rather have that than no protection especially for a $900.00 phone. looks good also....

I like this blue over the traditional black. The clip is black and it gives the blue a great accent. This defender cover hugs my I7+ very snuggle. Only complaint I have is a few times while it has rained. A few drops have gotten in near the ear piece and the water got down in the screen. Had to take the entire case apart to dry it out

The defender is fantastic for protecting my iPhone. Great for protecting from drops and shock. Downside is that after water gets under the screen protector, you’ve gotta remove it to clean it.

I have trusted otterboxes for all my iPhones and have never been disappointed. Slightly difficult to get out but not too bad. All touch is intact through the screen protector and I like the belt clip. A little bulky but I just want to keep it safe for when I trade it in and get the best trade in value.

This is my fourth OtterBox defender case for any of my iPhones. I have always been a believer in them since my first one. I have dropped my phone multiple times without any damage. The only problem with them is that the plastic screen protector overtime gets scratched up. I actually bought an OtterBox commuter first but really wanted the protection of the defender.

The Otter Box case is great for protecting the phone from drops. I love the belt clip as well (I cannot carry my phone in my pocket). It holds up better than any other that I have tried and I have tried many. I do not like the built in screen protector it seems to take away from the responsiveness of the phone. I ended up removing it and using a glass screen protector with the case.

Great protection for your phone, easy to put on and looks good.

I've had otter boxes in the past as well as other popular protective cases. I like the otter boxes best. Solid protection at a cheaper price than some. This is the first time I've had one with the kick stand and that has been handy. I'm not crazy about the built in screen protector but it will help keep the phone in great condition for when I sell it next upgrade lol.

This case gave my phone the protection I was looking for but it was too bulky to make it practical. I decided on a LifeProof case instead.

This phone holder attaches firmly to my belt, but the belt must be snug. The phone holder holds the iPhone 7 securely, yet easily releases the phone when I need it. The holder is very sturdily constructed. The case that encases the phone itself has protected my phone from a 4.5 foot fall. I am very pleased with this product.
