Cracked screen = sad Otters. We're so sorry to hear that your Galaxy S7 had a fatal fall while in the Defender case. We test our products extensively to ensure that they provide the best protection possible, but unfortunately, every drop has unique dynamics and angles, some of which are beyond our control. Due to your audio issues and your screen protector not fitting as snugly, we think there could possibly be a misalignment or defective issue going on. Our handy Otters have a couple solutions that we could examine, so just ring them up at 1-855-688-7269, and they'll happily work with you!
In terms of the case design, the added bulk of the Defender case does provide increased protection, but we understand that sometimes it doesn't fit everyone's style. This is my second purchase and have have not been dissapointed this second trip. My first box for my galaxy (evo) lost its shape after a short period, but this one seems to have modified its quality.
