No instructions, so remove the really thin plastic frame from bottom polycarbonate plate (it's snapped on in 6 places or so), place phone in base, reattach thin frame abd snap it in and then stretch the silicone cover over it all. The case has no screen protector. Optional swivel holder is bulky, but nice alternative to a pocket. This sturdy case makes it much easier to hold the phone and it does not block any buttons, camera, charging or audio ports, fingerprint, or the edge screen. There are secure flaps to protect the charging and audio ports of the phone.

Love how it looks, the color combos, and it protects really good from falls. I have dropped my Samsung s8 a couple times already and nothing happened

I knew Otterbox made a great case for the S8, but I am not sure why they decided to leave out the screen protector. For the iPhone 7 and previous Samsung phones, the Defender series has had a protector for the screen. Other than a lack of screen protection, the case itself is great, gives good grip, protects the ports well, feels good in your hand. I also use the belt clip like a screen protector and put the phone in backwards to protect the glass. My only other issue is that dust collects around the camera/ fingerprint reader due to how recessed it is, might be nice to find a way to make that cover openable too like the port covers.

Good texture makes for a nice grip in your hand. No restrictions to the screen and the port covers function better than the older otter box cases.

So literally cracked my phone the day after I bought it, so I ran to Best buy to buy a case (something I should have done beforehand) I was able to get a price match on Amazon and bought it immediately at Best buy, so great experience.

This case is comfortable in my hand and pocket. Ive only dropped my phone once so far but it was on concrete and it kept it safe. I didnt give it 5 stars simply because the case is so thick it wont charge on my wireless charger so i have to take half the case off every night

Fits snug and so far has protected my phone. Of course i just purchased it a week ago and i havent dropped my phone yet. But BB wanted a review.

Not too big, I can really hang on to my phone with the sticky grip. I've dropped my phone several times already, no damage. A real solid case!

Decent Case, it protects my phone for the most part, but I am concerned it doesn't offer much in the way of protecting the screen area... The sides of the case are actually a little lower than the screen (due to the edge screen). The top and bottom edges are built up a little, but I don't see that offering a whole lot of drop protection to the face unless your phone drops perfectly level. Overall I would say it's a good option for a case, they offer more protection than a cheaper "fashion" case would, but there are more durable options out there (Lifeproof). As soon as I can get my hands on one, I'll be switching.

I always had Otter Box cases for my phones, but this is my 1st Defender. It comes in three pieces and snaps into place. It does not interfere with the fingerprint reader, but it is best to have the case on the phone first before setting up the reader. Only the top and bottom front facing ridges protect the screen. I have used it for a few months and I noticed it adds some bulk to mine Samsung S8, compares to previous Commute cases. Which is a pain when trying fit it into my small purse backpack. I dropped it around few times indoors with no damage. Wait and see how it handle drops outdoors.

So this is my first otter box. I was expecting it to blow my mind but that didn't happen. First off, this is a screenless edition defender which I find pointless. Second, it's rather bulky. Overall I'm not a fan.

This is a Great protective cover for your phone. easy to install, compact, looks great and provides protection from dropping your phone.

I've been using OtterBox cases for 7 years 8 years and they've always protected my phone and fit fantastic very happy with this purchase.

I bought this case for my fiance' s phone. I wanted a reliable, durable and light weight case. This case is all that and the some more.

Already dropped my phone once and no damage was done, thanks to this case. May be a little bulky, but who cares? It protects the phone.

I have tried many cases for different phones but I prefer the protection of OtterBox. My only complaint is there isn't the amount of front protection that there was on older models. This doesn't have the plastic screen cover that the old ones had, but it is definitely better than nothing and better than cheaper cases. I have dropped my phone several times and there was no damage to the phone or case. It adds quite a bit of bulk to the phone, though and is a bit pricey.

Okay, I have faith in Otterboxes. Had the 1st one on an iPhone 4. Never had a problem until I gave it to the spouse and she took it off. She dropped it a couple of days later and the screen cracked. The second one was on the Windows phone I just replaced. Dropped it numerous times without any problems. Dropped it a couple of times getting out of my Tundra. I guess over the years, you drop phones and this is one way to be sure that they are protected. Oh, there is a fourth one on my spouse's new iPhone.

This phone case is bulky but it will protect you expensive phone. Otterbox offers lifetime warranty on their cases.
