This is a typical Otterbox Defender in terms of protective value. It's slimmer than previous versions which is a good thing. Still protective though. The problem for some people is that they did away with the built in plastic screen protector. I actually see it as a plus because I prefer the tempered glass protectors. You have to pay extra though, do so dropped a star. Maybe they should include one.

While providing great protection, it is somewhat bulky and awkward to use on my belt.

Don't need the clip, and it is a bit bulky... but provides the protection I need.

Good solid case. Front of the case is raised so your screen is protected if you set it face down. I rarely use the holster part

I love this Otter Box Defender case for my new cell phone. The included holster adds additional protection for the screen, and can be attached to the case to use as a clip onto my belt. The case itself is quite durable, and should profide sufficient protection; and the case does not detract from the attractiveness of the GS8 phone.

Works well. Fits in pocket and easy to hold. Protective without adding bulk.

I have always used Otterbox Defender cases for every cellphone I have owned. This case however, does not have the screen protection built in as other models I have owned. I know there's a curved screen, but I was sure they could have come up with something. I was relegated to buying a screen protector film, which was supposed to be case friendly, but mot really the inner ring of the Otterbox winds up peeling up the corners at the bottom. Disappointed to say the least...

Provides good protection for a Samsung S8 and a useful way for a guy to carry his phone. However, it requires extremely careful installation when used with the alpha glass screen protector. The alpha glass must be exactly centered and applied, and the case must be snapped together gently or it will get under the alpha glass and lift it.

Phone well protected & that's a very good thing as it seems the phone falls out of the belt holster all too often. Holster catches clothes and/or phone doesn't fully engage the holsters catch/clip ... either way the phone drops out unexpectedly. Granted it is my fault for sometimes not being careful enough but the catch/clip is a bit too small or something also.

Only use defender, works great to protect from drops only problem is clip part always breaks after a while and have to order new back piece/clip part ones. Used lifeproof before but with curved screens it doesnt sit right and big bubble wouldnt go away so went eith defender case. No screen protection but hasnt been a problem.

Protective and fits in pocket. Easy to handle textured to prevent dropping.
