I've had this same model Defender case with several phones now, and it's protected my phones through 2 or 3 accidents. I use the 2nd half only when I need to use the belt-clip to carry the phone.

Otterbox is perfectly fine but way too expensive when other manufacturers like Poetic, Unicorn Beetle; and Encased exist with a price around $25, Otterbox seems too expensive. I only recommend this if there's no other option for you, Otterbox is a fine case manufacturer but they're now like the Gucci bag of rugged cases where you're just buying a name instead of a product.

That really doesn't matter, buy a premium screen protector if you're that worried. This case is great, fits perfectly and gives it a little bulk. Love it!
