The OtterBox Defender for the iPhone 16 Pro feels very solid and protective. Once it’s on the phone you definitely feel like it could survive a drop. My biggest gripe is the belt clip/holster situation. You can order it for free, but it doesn’t actually come in the box with the case. For the price of the Defender it really feels like that should just be included. I also wish the camera control button area had a little more protection since it’s more exposed than the rest of the case. The holster that doubles as a stand was actually great for a while. I used it to prop my phone up on my nightstand and use it as a clock while I slept. Unfortunately the stand part chipped so now it only works as a clip. Overall it’s still a very durable case that protects the phone well, but a couple design choices could definitely be improved.

Was doing my best to avod buying the Otterbox Defender Pro due to that horrendous asymmetrical gash on the side for the camera button,but after trying 5 other high quality cases at considerable expense,Best Buy had the Black Otterbox Defender Pro on sale so for the price I decided I could try it.Dang it feels just lke my last 5 Defenders on iPhones and 5 on iPads.Yhe gouge makes the camera button the most comfortable to use out of all the cases i tried,and my phone won’t slide of the arm of my chair!

Great case. Couple of minor drops only and no damage. Feels solid in my hand and provides a strong gripping feel, not slippery or hard to keep a hold of.

It works from my daughter from dropping her phone. She’d like dropping her phone too much and it protects the phone very well.

Very sturdy otter box. It makes the side button harder to use. However it looks and feels like it’s built to last. Last one I had for 4 years with no problems. It was dropped several times even rolled under a car once. Get price to protect your valuable phone

Overall, this is a high quality case that offers great protection for the phone. The three piece design is easy to use and comes apart easily for cleaning. The Defender Pro rugged case has been my go-to, but with the iPhone 16 Pro, the side cutout for the camera/AI button is a weak point. I’ve had to put on a new screen protector every few weeks due to chips in the glass by the camera button cutout. And the top piece of the hard shell broke, so sending in for warranty. Otherwise, I would give it five stars.

Solid case. Tricky to put it on the phone initially but not really bulky when done.

The design around the new camera button seems counterintuitive for a phone case aimed directly at protection and durability. There is a ~1” section of the screen with zero coverage or protection which feels very vulnerable. Its not a cut out for a button, there is literally a secton of the case missing which leaves the screen and completely exposed. The bulk of the case makes the recessed camera button awkward and uncomfortable to press.

We had read the negative reviews about the new side camera cutout being very vulnerable to screen breakage from lack of support. But, my wife wanted to go ahead with the purchase from her longtime positive experience with Otterbox Defenders on previous phones. Big mistake! Sure enough something in her purse hit that exact spot and broke her glass screen protector. Thank goodnesss we had that. Tecommend the Canshn protector instead, although not sold by eBay.

The hard case protects my New I phone and gives me the security to protect my phone I need! I like the secure belt clip, the adjustable pivot that swings to give me the proper comfort level.

Phone case works great. I needed a case that has grip to it as the case I had kept sliding onto floor, not good.

I've been using Otterbox Defender series for years and have they have protected my phones well. Unfortunately, the design of this case with the new Apple camera control button just doesn't work for me. The cutout is in an awkward place for a right handed person and I just don't feel like I can hold the case normally. Also, the way the cutout is done, it leaves about an inch or so of the phone as well as any screen protector exposed on both the front and sides. I'm going to try to return the case. Right now, I've swapped out to an ESR Cyber Tough case which seems equivalent to the Otterbox Commuter case but the ESR includes a kickstand for the phone. The cutout on the ESR isn't a pronounced as on the Otterbox and there is a small piece that covers the edge that the Otterbox didn't.
