I was a little apprehensive, at first, upon reading the reviews of this otterbox case for my new Apple iPad 4 mini. I did not order it online but went to the store to check it out. It was on sale and was not an "open box" item. The material finish looks great, is not slippery so it's easy to grip, and the iPad turns so it will stand in either position to read. Other reviews stated it had loose threads or did not stay closed with the magnetic closure. I am happy to say I have neither of these problems. The case is well made, the iPad stands nicely to read, it provides excellent protection around all edges in the event of an accidental drop, and the magnetic closure works great! I am well pleased with this purchase.

Purchased case for new iPad Mini 4 on Sunday afternoon (4/10/16). The main reason for purchasing this case was that I could view the device either portrait or landscape. I appreciate the OtterBox brand for its reputation for high levels of device protection. I like the feel of the non-skid material on the inside cover and the fact there are options multiple viewling angles regardles of the rotation. The case has "cut-outs" so that can listen to your device. They are even positioned better for listening then where Apple put the speakers - they are on the top so that they won't be blocked. It is also a smart cover so that the device will turn on just by unwrapping the outer flap. One small issue with that - since the case allows for 360 degree rotation, it is very easy to reposition the device facing the wrong way in landscape mode, since the magnets are only on one side of the inner housing. Even easier for me, because I prefer the home button to be on my left in landscape, which, of course is the "wrong way" for the flap to stay closed. While I was at Best Buy, I inserted iPad into the case twice, once to try and once after the screen protector was applied. Sunday night I noticed a spot where the case had begun to fray which I hadn't noticed before. Didn't use the device that night at all and it sat on my bed acted as a "base" for my iPhome. Monday morning I noticed two additional spots where the fabric was now fraying, which weren't fraying when I went to bed. This is all within 18 hours of purchase, at least half of that time I was asleep. So the bottom line is that the case is great, device fits well and has corner to corner and full back protection. I always get a screen protector first thing, so if the wrap-around cover isn't as protective as other OtterBox models, I'm still well covered. However, this wide weaved tweed polyester, does not seem to be as durable as other types of fabric I've encountered on device covers. When I was at the store, I found the Black Night version for the Mini 1,2,3 and specifically asked for it. The associate that first assisted me told me that they didn't have it and even tried to show me that it was not offered by Best Buy. I didn't read the web page closely until just before writing this review. DON'T LET THIS HAPPEN TO YOU! All the man had to do was touch of the black square next to the white one on the right hand side of the description (where the colors always appear.) This cost the company a sale! I now also have the Black Night version and the OtterBox representative assures me that it is leather. He told me he loves his, and I can see why. I do NOT recommend either of the two "tweeds": Glacier Storm or Coastal Dusk.

I had high hopes for this case, but the second day of owning the otter box symmetry for the iPad mini 4 it began to rip...and rip in an odd place. I know there's a lifetime warranty but for the case to break down so early in it's life means the build quality isn't there.

This case is excellent! It securely fits around the iPad and the wrap around cover also turns into a stand. There is a hard plastic case with a silicon lining that protects and holds the iPad firmly in place. Be sure to identify which case your getting, the iPad mini, mini 2, and mini 3, all utilize the same case but the iPad mini 4 has a completely separate case.

I got it on sale, so the price was great. I get lots of complements on it's appearance. I wish the magnet was stronger to hold the flap closed around the case. Overall, I'm happy with my purchase.

This is stylish but more importantly it keeps my iPad safe. It closes with an easy wrap around. It's smooth and thin. It's light. Professional. Perfect for busy professionals

This case has a nice mix of materials and I was drawn to it because of the fabric color. After about 1 month of use, it has held up nicely. It doesn't feel too bulky but feels like it is protecting my iPad.

I wanted some stylish that still offers solid protection and this case seems to fit the bill. It doesn't add a lot of weight or thickness, but it covers everything nicely and I like that you can easily rotate it within the cover to fit horizontal or vertical needs without sacrificing the protection. Plus, I really like the look and feel.

The style instantly grabbed me. The functionality sold me. The case protects the tablet really well. I love being able to use the stand in both directions when I am not holding onto the tablet when I am cooking, when taking notes while reading, or when watching a video. The extra cost for something I LOVE is worth it, rather than buying a cheaper model for something I LIKE.

I got it cause of the otter box name. I liked it initially but the light grey I just thought would get dirty too fast. And I needed something a bit thinner when I open it like a book just for holding. I have small hands n it was a lil bit too bulky

Very good protection for iPad mini 4. And very attractive looking. Also the best feature is it turns 360 degrees. You don't get that on other cases. I love it. And the fabric finish is excellent and attractive.

This case is just what I needed. With all Otterbox products, it's always a little hard to get the device in the case but that just demonstrates the inflexibility of the material which makes me feel good about the durability. The color is more tan that black/white or gray which turned out to be a pleasant surprise with my gold iPad. You can use the stand in Landscape and Portrait views. The case rotates which isn't evident from the pictures or the description. Really pleased with this product. The only downside is it didn't come with a screen protector (even a basic one) but the screen is protected unless you drop something directly only the ipad with the case open.

Really like the way the case looks on the iPad mini. The case is a combination of a hard shell and fabric. Unfortunately, the fabric on the case has already started to fray. That's my only complaint. Great protection though.

Excellent cover protects my cover well. Looks great and carrying the pad is comfortable. Stand provide a good angle for viewing and reading. The swivel is a plus.

Love the design. Easy to manipulate. Easy to clean. Protects my iPad mini. Exactly what I needed and it looks nice.

I purchased this case after smashing the glass in my Ipad, TWICE. Its very nice looking, and the magnetic flap, which I was leery of, works well. I've bought several cases, including Otters, but have never liked the looks of them. This is an Otter case, but its not plain and huge, like many of them are. So I give this one 5 stars, and would gladly recommend it to anyone who likes the protection an Otter provides, but much nicer looking. I'm very happy with my purchase.

So happy with this purchase, fits perfect and is fashionable instead of just functional. The only thing I wish is that it came with a screen protector, but beggars can't be choosers.

I've smashed 3 iPads, so was looking for a very protective case for my new one. This case offers great protection while looking stylish. Very pleased with the purchase
