This DVD box set was amazing! The HD image quality is visually stunning, and the overall series is very well produced. Detailed narration of the origin of life on earth as well as the planet's formation to the early days of human life was very informative. For science geeks, this is a series you'll enjoy. Unlike a lot of documentaries, this one cuts out the vapid "entertainment" aspects, and really stands well as something educational. I loved it so much, I've given it as a gift.

If you were like me and grew up watching shows like Nova, Wild Kingdom, Scientific America and Jacques Cousteau, this compendium of disks would be for you. Though this is science oriented rather than animals, the skill, the filming and attention to details present in those shows is also present in these productions. The beauty and majesty of nature in stark contrast to her violent fury, is a sight to behold, and this collection brings to the viewer a snippet of her might.

Double set of documentary series an excellent buy for the money. While not as visually good as the "Planet Earth" series, these are certainly as entertaining and as informative.

This takes you on a visual ride around the world. It introduced me to many new things. If you like shows like Nova and Nature, you will like this.

This material is now a bit dated, and some of the information has since changed. However, it was enlightening to see how long ago some of the key concepts in science today were formulated, and just how behind the education system tends to be when conveying this information to students.

Its cool. Wish it had better graphics/cinematography.

This is a good dvd set for adults and children. It is entertaining and informative.

It is just okay to kill time, not as good at the BBC planet earth.
