I was curious about the Oura ring and had the opportunity to test the ceramic version. I selected the midnight color. I wish that I’d selected cloud instead of midnight. With the shine of the ceramic, the blue isn’t as deep as I’d hoped, but it’s not bright, so it’s a dark blue still. The ring is a bit bulky to me, but generally is comfortable. I have sensitive skin and it hasn’t bothered my skin, even wearing it pretty much 24/7 for a week, in the shower, to sleep, etc. I like that the ring is simple to wear for sleep tracking. It’s then easy to keep it on so that I don’t have to slip on my watch and get my watchband sweaty for my morning workout to be able to track my calories burned. The app has shown when it thinks I’ve worked out (I have elliptical marked as an activity that I usually do), and allowed me to edit it if I needed to before confirming the activity (once I did need to edit it, as it had my workout 20 minutes too long). It even recognized my yard work as yard work. One of the reasons I was curious about a ring as a tracker was for this, as I don’t wear my smart watch to do yard work or other sweaty outdoorsy stuff, and I’ve been curious about how many calories I burn. The data I get on sleep includes the different stages of sleep as well as awake time, and the ring was pretty good at recognizing my bedtimes and wake up. I liked that I could see when I was restless and had oxygen drops, and that it gives you a notice about issues. It tells you (note: you must have the subscription) total sleep, efficiency, resting heart rate, restfulness, latency, and the time in each stage of sleep. While you get your average oxygen saturation, I wish that it would show more detail and match up my oxygen levels to when it said I had variations, so I could see what kind of drop I had, and what my other stats were at the time. While Oura gives some good stats (if you pay for the subscription), and is convenient to wear, for the $500 price I would have to see the data details be included without having to pay a monthly subscription before I’d recommend it with a $500 price tag. To get much good out of the ring you have to purchase a $70/year subscription ($72/year if you do it monthly instead of annually). The three scores without the subscription don’t mean much, in my opinion. If I can’t see my data, I don’t see the purpose of having the ring. If it still sent my calories burned and workout heart rate to my Health app without a subscription, that would be a boon. Even using it just one year, a $500 ring becomes a $570 ring. I’d say wait for a big sale, or go for the non-ceramic, if you’re interested in the convenience a ring gives you, or if you don’t wear a smart watch (or wear one very often) and want to track your fitness and sleep throughout the day and night. The high cost caused me to knock off a star. The ring does a good job tracking and reporting, but you need the subscription to get that info, so keep that in mind.

    Stylish and Comfortable Smart Ring

I’ve been interested in Oura health and fitness rings for a while. So when I had the chance to test their newest ring, I was elated! I was particularly wanting to monitor my sleep patterns, heart rate, while also using the device to help manage my stress. The ring itself is beautiful. It’s really comfortable to wear, all day and night. I only take it off to wash my hands, do the dishes or shower, and it is then that I put it on its lovely little charger. Though I do have a ‘smart watch’, I choose to give my wrist a break from continually wearing it during the night. Now I am able to wear this ring to track my sleep, breathing, and heart rates with the Oura instead. In addition, you can connect the ring to other health and fitness apps, as well as, the Oura app itself. The Oura app is well organized and easy to navigate. It seems to update my information regularly, without any “glitchy” delays I’ve experienced with some other health/fitness apps. At a glance you can check your Vitals - Readiness score, Sleep breakdown, Activity Goals progress, Daytime Heart Rate monitoring, and Daytime Stress levels. You can even add an activity, record a workout heart rate, and log a meal in your Timeline section. There are also helpful research study articles you can read to educate yourself concerning the areas you want to focus on using your Oura ring. Once you’ve worn your Oura every day for a week, the ring will be able to Calibrate more about your health and fitness patterns. Every morning I’m actually excited to review my previous night’s sleep record, including my blood oxygen levels. I still need to get into a regular habit of recording my meals, but that will come with time. I’ve done this before, using a different health app, so it’s just a matter of adding that to my daily routine. A particular feature I’m fascinated to learn more about, and potentially participate in, is Oura Labs. I’m quite looking forward to being notified when a new experimental feature will become available for me to try out and evaluate. While the Oura Ring 4 is somewhat expensive, if you are considering purchasing one, think of this device as more than just a ‘fitness ring,’ but rather as a long-term investment to better assist you with improving your overall health. In addition, the $5.99/month or $69.99/annual cost of the Oura Membership is more than fair.

This is a fantastic product! I’ve worn it for about a week now and it’s given me fantastic insight into a variety of my health concerns including sleep quality and stress levels. Setup was super easy and charging takes a few minutes for 4-5 days worth of data collecting. The ring is insanely comfortable, and I’ve had several compliments on its look even in the first week of ownership. I was concerned about a ceramic ring’s durability, but that concern was not needed. This is built like a tank and hasn’t shown a single scratch despite banging into doorknobs, doing dishes, or even yardwork. Comparing its data to that collected by my Apple Watch over the same time period, the two are roughly within 5% of each other, so I’m reassured about the accuracy of the readings, and this lets me keep my watch recharging at night without fear of losing crucial health data. Setting up the ring and the app was super simple. It pairs in seconds and the rest is just typical sign-up info like any other new account. Easy for anyone of any age to set up and start their journey to a healthier lifestyle. Strongly recommend!!!!!!

The ceramic Oura Ring 4 is an excellent and conspicuous companion to keep track of your health and fitness. I have several fitness watches, which are indeed helpful in fitness, but not so much in health and particularly present a huge drawback in sleep. One of my main desires has been to track my sleep and the Oura ring has been outstanding in this. With watches, I wake up in the middle of the night with a strangled wrist only to take them off, but with the Oura, I forget I’m even wearing it. Not only that, but the biometrics it tracks and how it compiles them gives me insights that are extremely helpful in guiding me to make productive changes. *What’s included?* Along with the Oura ring comes a sized ring charger and USB-C to USB-C cable. Oura also offers to mail a free buffer to get rid of scuffs. *Quality of Product* This Oura ring is made of zirconia ceramic, making it so lightweight I now forget it’s even there. It did take a few days to get used to its size as it is quite wide and bulky. That said, it is extremely comfortable, with titanium on the inside that is smooth on the skin and the rounded edges making it easy to put on and remove. The zirconia ceramic is highly resilient, I almost immediately scuffed it with the handle of a pan while cooking, but the buffer Oura provided quickly buffed it off and made it look like new. The ring is made to withstand water immersion, heat, and cold. So, it can be used while swimming, in the sauna, and shower. I do not shower with it as I prefer not to, but I do plan to take it into the sauna as I like to track my biometrics while in there. *Featured Functions* • Activity tracking: This ring tracks activity phenomenally, to the point that I have been shocked several times. Not only does it know when I am busy just doing housework, it even knows when I take a nap. No other fitness tracker has been able to do that, and they usually try to nudge me to get up and walk around during naps, which only disturbs my nap. The ring then implements all of this activity into its readiness and stress score. • Readiness: This score will take several factors, with the main one being sleep, to tell you how ready you are to take on the day. It gives gentle suggestions with an understanding tone while explaining the reason for the score. • Sleep: This score has always been important to me because I know what difference it makes in my overall health but I struggle greatly with it. I have been checking times that I wake up in the middle of the night, and the ring has accurately gauged when I have been sleeping or awake. It includes analytics such as blood oxygen levels, heart rate variability, and several other biometrics that help understand the body’s sleep patterns. • Heart rate: The heart rate feature works perfectly, if not better than other fitness trackers. Because it is on my finger and does not slide around, there is no issues with lapses in the analytics. • Cycle: The ring uses nighttime temperature to detect the current stage of a woman’s menstrual cycle, but it takes 60 days to be able to start predicting so I am not currently able to comment on the accuracy as of yet. • Other biometric features: A few other included features are oxygen level and breathing. I really enjoy being able to understand where I am at with respiratory and cardiovascular health. Additionally, the ring compiles data to give info on resilience, cardiovascular age, and chronotype, all of which need more time before they can give me a result. I had not heard of chronotype, and I am quite curious as to what advice it will give me on my sleep schedule. *App* The Oura app provides an overview of all the of scores at the top, ring battery life, and makes everything else intuitive to find. It seems that they went for a calming appearance with their layout that does not overstimulate, and they achieved it. *Subscription* It is important to note that some of the analytic features I mentioned need a subscription, but I find the price for it reasonable for the value provided. Without subscription it provides readiness, activity, and sleep scores. *Battery Life* They state the ring has 5-8 days battery life, and for me it lasted until the middle of the eighth day. I am so grateful for this because I can get a whole week of biometrics without worrying about it dying in the middle of the day or night. It is much easier for me to choose a convenient time to charge it as well. It charges quite quickly, taking just over an hour to go from almost dead to fully charged. *Recommendations * I recommend choosing a size for a finger that is not next to fingers that you already put rings on as it might not get along with them plus it might scratch them since it is really high on the Mohs scale. They recommend using your nondominant index finger. I chose my dominant middle finger because I wear a watch and rings on my left and wanted to even that out and my right middle finger felt the most comfortable to me. This, of course, is what led me to scuff it right away and I do have to temporarily switch it to my left side when I am working with my hands even though it fits loosely. It’s definitely ideal to go with a size that fits multiple fingers, which I now kind of wish I had done. Also, the ring fits me well in the size I chose but it almost falls off when I have wet hands. The ring is slightly larger the ring sizer plus the rounded edges makes it easier to remove. With all this said though, it is not so loose that it rotates by itself, so it is still a good size and gives my finger room to swell, it’s just iffy when wet. I thought this worth mentioning as something to consider if you plan on using it while swimming. *Conclusion* I am truly loving this ring and how much insight I am getting into my health. I am also excitedly waiting for the rest of the analytics to load up. I think it is amazing that it can compile data to know when you might even have an underlying issue you are unaware of. There is so much to gain from something so small, conspicuous, and comfortable. I recommend this over a fitness watch.

This is a wonderful purchase and I couldn’t be happier with the product for my best-friend. This item has really changed the way she views her health and sleep quality. Thanks to this ring she’s able to fully track all of her progress through its app while also being able to wear something simple enough that isn’t too flashy. I couldn’t recommend this ring enough for anyone who just wants to simply track their heart rate and sleeping patterns as she struggles a lot with her sleep schedule. I swear the future of technology always surpasses our expectations.

This is ring is the absolute best purchase I have ever made. It does so many things health wise and helps keep up with certain things for me. Recently I got sick and my ring told me something was straining my body the day before I was sick. The battery life is also amazing and that is a plus and it charges super quick. Its also very easy to set up when you first get it. This thing truly works and I would buy it again in a heartbeat.

I am very pleased with this product. The technology is accurate and thorough. The ring is very comfortable to wear. At first, I was first concerned about the durability of the finish and being ceramic, but I am completely satisfied with it. I was in multiple situations where it should have gotten scratched, but it didn't! I did have a black mark on it, in which I thought was a scratch, but the cleaning pad buffed the mark right off! The ring is beautiful!

largely positive, highlighting its ability to turn biometric data (sleep, HRV, temp) into conversational, actionable health advice, helping users understand patterns, manage stress, adjust schedules (like jet lag), and even spot early illness, though some users find it basic or wish for deeper functions like meal planning, making it a powerful, personalized wellness coach.

I’ve had my ring for about 3 weeks now and I am loving it. It’s still getting use to some of my habits but for the most part it’s been tracking great! I love that it senses your body needs rest or that it’s fighting something and is so accurate on sleep etc. I’m hoping this will help me with my health in 2026! I would definitely buy again!

Love this ring! It’s beautiful for starters. It tracks literally everything you need to track. I wanted it mainly for the sleep data because Apple won’t fix their Apple Watch battery where you don’t have to charge it every night. The battery on this ring lasts for days. I would definitely recommend it to anyone!

The pros: it's pretty confortable, it looks really sleek and polished, and it's far less bulky than wearing a smartwatch to bed to measure sleep metrics. The bad: customer service is AWFUL. You're forced to try and troubleshoot with an AI Chatbot that has the intelligence of a 1940s Sunbeam toaster. There are no contact numbers to call and speak to a real person. You can eventually get the chatbot to connect you to a chat agent, but even that isn't much help for the issues I've had with the ring. For starters, you have to pay a $6 a month subscription to use the ring. You can't do anything without the subscription. 6 bucks a month isn't terrible, but the subscription isn't worth it when the ring doesn't function as promised. There are issues with it missing workouts (the workaround they suggest? Manually record the workouts. As in, take your phone out of your pocket, open up the app, and tell it you're about to workout). That, to me, defeats the purpose and this ring is touted as being smart enough to automatically detect workouts. Mine has also, after the first 2 weeks, started missing HUGE gaps in monitoring certain metrics. We're talking 2 hour gaps where it didn't detect any HR data, chunks of stress monitoring missing, and also sleep data being incomplete. Support has suggested that maybe my fingers are cold (the gaps happen at random times, every single day). I work as a chef, so I can promise you my hands are not cold. They've said it could be that the ring fit is too loose. So, i tried it on a different finger - where it was so snug that it was almost uncomfortable. They've had me "soft reset" the ring multiple times (seriously, they pulled the "have you tried turning it off and on again?"!!). Everything they've suggested, I have done. Here we are almost 3 months later, I've paid for 3 months of their subscription and still have flawed and missing data. They are stumped, I keep getting told that they've escalated the issue and someone will contact me soon. Still waiting. But they did add 3 free months of the subscription service on to my account (allegedly) to help ease the sting of me paying a subscription for a ring that doesn't work. I don't have faith that they will admit that the ring is faulty, and that I am stuck with a $500 ring that barely does what it promised. Best Buy will let you return the ring within 2 weeks, however, my issues started 2 days AFTER that window closed. And getting Oura to admit the huge issues with this ring is next to impossible. So, I will save you the frustrations and forewarn you: the pricetag versus performance is not worth it. If you DO have cold hands/poor circulation, you will definitely have issues with this ring. I've also been told by others online that if you happen to have thicker fingers or darker skintone, you may also have issues with this ring dependably gathering the information needed. Others have said they have the same issue with missing workouts, with "no data" chunks for Heart rate and stress levels, and the symptom radar feature being totally useless and missing signs of strain impacting your health. I don't know if other smart rings are better, as Oura IS actually pretty accurate (when it DOES actually measure stuff). But, considering Oura is also far more expensive (considering the subscription and the hefty pricetag on the ring itself), I would expect it to be far superior too! I would not purchase this ever again. I'd rather have continued to wear my bulky Galaxy watch to bed (and dealt with the indentation on my wrist) and gotten more accurate readings and data and SAVED the $500+. Would not recommend.
