And here it is! The Ouran High School Host Club first half box set! I've waited so long! I'm very impressed with the vibrant animation and packaging. It really fits the bubbly high school environment of the show. As for the show's actualy format, I'm very happy to say that it's presented in splendiforous full-screen! The dialogue's translation stays true to the original Japanese and the voice actors obviously did their best to bring out the hosts' personalities, crossing over the Eastern gap and into the Western. Of course, the extras are just as awesome! The outtakes will leave you out of breath after laughing and rolling around your floor. The commentaries provide wonderful insight from the director and some of the voice actors. And the trailers are available as suggestions for future purchases. My only complaints, I suppose, are that some of the voices don't exactly match my expectations and that the opening and closing themes didn't leave much of an impression. But that's a common and expected thing to happen, right? I hope that, in the second half, at least the songs could be tweaked a little. Really though, this DVD is worth every penny. I encourage anyone interested (be you an otaku or not) to give this series a shot. I'm sure you'll fall in love with it. Not just because of the hot bishies and the comedic cross-dressing action, but because of how the plot just grabs at you and keeps you and your emotions hooked on the characters' lives.

This is the greatest anime I have ever laid eyes on. The plot is great and all the funny stuff going around the atmosphere of the Host Club is awesome. You'll never expect what will come in every episode, well there's one thing, laughter! What I hate to see in it was lesbianism and homosexuality but don't get that holding against you that it's not a great show, it's just part of their little fun interaction in the show. Let me give you a heads up about this: Haruhi Fujioka, a scholar student and happens to be the only "commoner" in the environment of Ouran High School Academy (can't remember what the school name was, too busy watching it!) accidentally walks into a music room where she'll meet the Host Club of the school. Dropping the $80,000 vase, how can she be able to pay for it? To find it out is to watch this hilarious comedy, romance, and drama somewhat anime. It will catch your heart from the very beginning of the show that in the fist minutes of it you'll be laughing your head off. So why wait? It's a great offer, and just buy it, you'll never doubt that it's not worth it!

I've read the manga, and was so excited about the anime, so my expectations were pretty high. And I was not dissapointed. The anime stays pretty true to the manga, the animations gorgeous, and it had me laughing out loud. The story lines are cute, some episodes were more playful and others more heartfelt, but they all had the same underlying style that is uniquely Ouran.

Simply one of the best animes to come to america, great story line, lots of humor and great character development. The dubbing is very well done, with some familiar voices from other huge anime hits, such as school rumble, fmp, and fma. (i got my hands on an early release for the box set at animeusa 2008) With season one sold as a box set, this is also a great buy compared to buying one disc at a time.

This is a hysterically funny story - one we will watch several times. For ages 10 and over to appreciate most of the humor.

This anime is about an honor student, named Haruhi Fujioka that got into a prestigious school called Ouran High School through a scholarship. One day, she walks into an abandoned music room where she meets the Host Club. This anime is awsome! I've watched all the episodes in Japanese and it rocked. You'll really enjoy this anime!

OMG!!!! like i have been waiting since july when they first announced the release date. i love love LOVE this show and everyone else should too. the greatest anime i think.......ever! its got everything that you want, and then some, totally awesome!!!! i cant wait ive been counting the days, only one more day! *squeals*

Anyone that hasn't seen this, in my opinion is seriously deprived. Because, it is the most amazing thing, since hellsing. Not that they have any relation what so ever but, to those of you who haven't seen this amazing anime, I will tell you that it is a most see.

I love this series. I watched it online first and was excited to hear that it was finally coming to America, and in english, then I watched it. Wtf? The english dub is horrible. It's so bad, its actually a little funny. Funimation obviously didn't put alot of effort in choosing the voices because what they have is just.... The product is fine, but the dubbed voices are so bad that I actually prefer listening to the Japanese and reading the subs.

One of my favorite series! As a Vic Mignogna fangirl (he did the voice of Ed in FMA), hearing him as Tamaki is like a dream. Yes dubs usually suck, but you can't deny that Vic makes the BEST english Tamaki! <333

it's very good I have watched it 5 time on youtube and to tell you the truth is it for the taking, trust me you won't want get another anime collection with out buying this collection first. so have fun.

I LOVE this show! It's finally on DVD! It's one of the best animes i've seen and has just about everything shojo.

This series was great! It has lots of romance and comedy, I enjoyed it very much.
