I was familiar with the plot of Outbreak after having seen it in part or while in the past. When I saw that the Blu-ray was on sale at Best Buy, I figured now was the perfect time to revisit this film, this time in high-definition. The storyline of the movie is very interesting, and fans of disaster films will find a lot to like about the plot. The characters are portrayed well and come across as interesting and likeable. The only complaint I have about the film itself is that some of the special effects look a little dated, but that's almost to be expected. I've read a lot of complaints about the picture quality of this Blu-ray being no more than that of a DVD, but I found it to be a good enough viewing experience. It could have been a little sharper and crisper, but I'm not sure the studio would dedicate any more time or resources to this film than they already have, so this is probably the best we will get for now. There are zero bonus features on the disc, so viewers wanting to dig deeper into the production of this film will have to look elsewhere for content. In summary, Outbreak is an interesting and satisfying film that has made a decent debut on Blu-ray.

Love the actors and the movie's plot. Scarily following some of the things happening right now but that makes it so much better to watch. If you're looking for a good pandemic movie to watch, really recommend it! Best actor of the movie?...the Monkey!!!!

Dustin Hoffman's body of work is very eclectic and full of great films. Cuba Gooding Jr. on the other hand was just coming into his own. This movie came out one year before his academy award winning performance in Jerry Maguire so, overall, the casting is spot on, the story is intriguing (Contagion copied some of it in 2011) and the outcome can be figured out halfway through the movie but it still is an entertaining movie.

Wolfgang Petersen's "Outbreak" is a suspenseful look at what the reaction would be if a deadly disease made its way to the United States. In the wake of Ebola, this movie is as timely now as it was in theaters in 1995. Dustin Hoffman, Rene Russo, Morgan Freeman, Donald Sutherland and Kevin Spacey all do a fine job.

I always enjoy watching these types of movies about how a single bug can kill humanity. Everyone by now should know the story behind this movie about a monkey that carried a virus. The movie keeps your attention and now the price is low enough to buy for repeat viewing

I have converted all of my movies to digital files on my media server, so now I have room to add to my collection. I really enjoyed watching the movie and now I have space to add more movies to my library and this is definitely one that I wanted.

"Outbreak" is probably Dustin Hoffman's last memorable work. The film is well paced and just plain entertaining - all around. The story: What is the government willing to do to prevent the outbreak of a deadly pandemic and conceal its own deadly secret? Solid Blu-ray transfer.

Have not viewed the movie as yet, did read the book which was excellent. Thus only the 4 stars for now. Felt confident seeing the cast of Dustin Hoffman, Rene Russo and Morgan Freeman that I would not be disappointed. I hope to confirm this decision soon by watching the movie.

I never tire of watching this movie. It just never gets old to me. Love the story, the ending, the actors, the humor. Just a good movie .

This movie was filmed next to the town I grew up in. We got to see Cuba Gooding Jr. driving away from the set. Pretty decent suspense movie, considering it came out years before the Ebola scare.

This was one of the first pandemic type movies I remember seeing. It's extremely good, but not a lot of people seem to remember it. Good story.. great cast.. Dustin Hoffman, Donald Sutherland, Kevin Spacey. Pretty believable and not over the top.

This one has been a favorite bio disaster movie of mine from when I was a kid in the 90s and has an awesome cast with Hoffman, Freeman, and Russo along with Donald Sutherland too. Great movie

Outbreak has a great cast and they deliver. The ease in which a killer disease gets around the world and infects this one town. Then the dicision by the government to sacrifice one town to stop it from spreading. Good movie!

LOVED IT! Great cast in a very intense story that makes you think how we as a people would deal with a deadly outbreak. Watched it multiple times!

Good movie! Lot of panicky. It do happen in real life and you need to know what to do if it happens to us. lol If I see any monkey, I'll call Dustin Hoffman right away.
