Easy to install, but this new version is a little bit different than the previous ones, so the video for installation should be updated.

The two pack was perfect for my home. The wide viewing angles allowed us to get a full view of the front and back of our home. They were easy to install and set-up.

Easy setup and great features. My only wish is that the cams had more than a 30 foot detection range. I maxed out the sensitivity and still only 30 feet.

Hi CrazyLady.
Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us. We understand the importance of having all relevant product information prior to purchasing. The features and technology provided by the Ring Outdoor Cam Plus are incredibly valuable and help provide you with peace of mind about your home security. We can definitely provide you with more information regarding the concern mentioned in your review.
It sounds like the device is not performing as expected. The motion detection effectiveness can be influenced by several factors beyond just the sensitivity setting. The mounting position of your Ring device directly affects the range and consistency of motion detection. Mounting too high or too low will impact both the range and reliability of motion detection.
For battery-powered Ring devices like the Ring Outdoor Cam Plus Battery, the motion detection technology works differently than hardwired cameras. Battery-operated devices use Passive Infrared detection by default, which detects heat signatures rather than visual motion. If you have Advanced Motion Detection turned on, this can affect how motion is detected. You might try adjusting the Motion Frequency setting to Frequently, which reduces gaps between triggered motion events.
Environmental factors can also play a role in detection range. Make sure the device isn't pointing through glass or any obstructions, and verify that any protective plastic has been removed. The PIR sensors detect motion most effectively when movement occurs across their field of view rather than directly toward or away from the camera.
If you've adjusted all settings and the detection range still doesn't meet your needs, you might consider repositioning the device at a different height or angle to optimize coverage. Hardwired Ring cameras use more sensitive motion detection technology compared to battery-powered cameras, so switching to a hardwired option could provide improved detection range if that's an option for your setup.
