My wife loves this series and I enjoy watching it with her. It is about a time-traveling battlefield nurse. But this is not a sci-fi show. It is about how this woman reacts to the new world in which she finds herself. It is also a bit steamy at times.

The second half of Outlanders terrific first season was every bit as good a the first, if not better than. Now, having done introduced us to various characters and the overarching plot we are able to focus in on the story and the powerhouse acting.

I became hooked on the books when I first read the Outlander series so I was concerned that the transition to the screen would not live up to my expectations. This DVD, even though made for TV, exceeds my expectations and brings the story to life. The setting is beautiful, the music is moving and the actors are superb

My mom and I both love this show so I decided to buy it for her as a present for Mother's Day. She was very happy to receive it and I got it for a good price too, so I was happy. Even better was the placement in the store, since it was a new release the DVD was right up front and I didn't have to search for it!

I will purchase Season 2, also. I go to work very early so I go to sleep very early! I like to watch a couple hours at a time... I love the era, the costumes, the writing, enjoy the hair styles, horses, + all the graphics! Just a great series!!!

What a fantastic adaptation of a fantastic series of books. I was spellbound from the first episode. The acting is superb, the locations are breathtaking, and the extra features are a wonderful bonus. Buy it, buy, it, BUY IT!!!!!

After reading the books (8), and not wanting to purchase a Starz package, the wait to see the movies was well worth it. It seemed more graphic to actually see the gruesome parts than was in the books, but both avenues are worth your time.

I read the books and was afraid the series might not be as good. Luckily, it is being made with a lot of care to make it every bit as good as the books. Wonderfully done. My husband and i love it!

Starting in Post World War 2, Claire Randall, a combat nurse find herself separated from her husband while vacationing in Scotland and is transported to Scotland in 1743 during the Jacobite Uprisings. I watched this as a lark one day on demand and I can't stop watching this engrossing and captivating drama.

I do not watch Outlander but my Mom does and she absolutely loves it! She read all the books and watched the first season when it was on TV and couldn't wait for this part to come out on DVD! Highly recommend this show for anyone who is a fan of the books or just looking for a great show to get into!

Oh my!! I have watched the complete season on Starz. I have watched the reruns on Starz. I love it so much, I had to have the set so I can "get my fix" anytime I want!! My only caution - definitely for mature audiences only

Game of Thrones and Downton Abbey have nothing on this series. Finally a "guy" series that our significant others can enjoy. Quite a mix of blood and guts and passionate romance. Haunting theme music makes the show all the better.

LOVE, love, love, this story. I now own both seasons 1 & 2, and am looking forward to season 3. I've read all of the books as well, and I like the adaptation. If you are a fan of historical fiction, you won't be disappointed.

As a person who has read the books over and over again, they have done a very good job with this series. When they have changed parts, it is easy to see why they had to and it still keeps true to the basic story. Is very graphic (so where the books). Love this series and can't wait for season 2!

A great love story filled with Scottish history beautiful Scottish landscapes an awesome series. I can't wait to buy and watch the next one! Loved it with great enthusiasm to watch the next show when one was over. It is a series that really pulls you in! loved it without question question!

Started watching on starz. Found the book and got super into it. If you like shows based on a different time period and books then you will love this show. They do an awesome job trying to follow the storyline in this show.

I'm a huge fan of the books, and was worried about the quality of the production. Other than some plot modifications and adapting to this version of the main character, I am thrilled with the series. The costuming is fabulous and the majority of the casting and all of the acting is wonderful.
