Needed to buy a cd for the 6 month Tidal offer. I could have went with something I knew but I was going to be more adventurous since I was getting another deal. I remember a friend talking about Volbeat. Check them on the U tube first if you not sure. These guys are straight on hard rockers with a voice that's someway reminiscent of Dio. I dig it.

Volbeat has always gone with the more wild west theme for some of their songs. They really bring it out here. It's all in good taste though, and no twangy-ness to it. You'd have to appreciate a wild west themed rock song to enjoy this, but still has some awesome tunes.

when i saw the titles on the songs i thought are you serious but surprise they are pretty good maybe even better than the 1st cd

this is the first volbeat album i bought but it won't b the last. I love the western theme and was happy the list the lyrics in the liner notes

This cd is fantastic! I usually don't listen to this type of music but this cd is one exception!

Really cool album... will appeal to fans of metal, rock and rockabilly among others.

This is one of my favorite bands, and I enjoy listening to their music. I am trying to build my library of their albums. They are a heavy metal group from Denmark, with (to me) a different, but great, sound. There's a little bit of rockabilly mixed in with the rock sound, for something that's different than your mainstream rock band. They've got a good sound, good beat, good songs, and the singer has a really cool voice. Listen to them online first, if you're not sure who they are, to see if you like them before buying. And if you like them, or are already familiar with them, then I recommend this album.

I had heard plenty of Volbeat songs on the radio, but never checked out any of their albums. Bad mistake. A good friend of mine and his wife are huge fans so I decided to pick one of their albums up. My decision making came down to 1) I really dig Lola Montez, 2) the artwork is really cool, and 3) I was told it was a concept album about the wild west. From beginning to end, this album just rocks. Black Bart may be one of my favorite jams that I never knew existed, Lonesome Rider has a great vibe to it, and their cover of My Body is excellent. If you are into modern hard rock, it's hard to ignore these guys.

This could have stunk the place up but Volbeat pulls it off, as always they vary and meld styles together. These guys are not genre snobs. Metal, punk, pop, thrash and classic country (ala Johnny Cash not todays trash), Great playing, great production, great hooks, great band and the addition of former Anthrax guitarist Rob C works beautifully.

Actually listening to this cd again as I write this review. This cd was the first cd I had purchased by Volbeat and it was before I had heard them on the radio. Initially I bought this at the recommendation of a friend and fell in love with this cd. It was a great change of pace from a lot of the other rock I had been hearing, namely on the radio, and was like a breath of fresh air. I have found that with of the songs on this cd you can almost picture the stories that the songs are trying to tell.

I was introduced by a coworker/friend. I bought the CD to keep in the car for my long commute. Didn't want to use anymore phone memory. Anyways, it is hype music that reminds me of one of my old favorites, Metallica, with the deep voice and hard drums. A couple tracks are lighter and have the pop star trying a different genre flavor feel, but, in all, the album rocks

These guys rule. Genre melding of punk, rock, hard rock, punk, pop and classic country - yet cohesively hanging in a hard rock/metal space. This one could have crashed and burned under the weight of the western theme but it didn't. They pull this off in grand style.

Since buying this album I have probably listened to it on loop a hundred times. I play it at my shop and no one gets tired of hearing it! One of my favorite music purchases ive made recently - I really recommend it. His voice is edgy and the lyrics are fantastically written!
