pretty good investment and cooks rather quickly. not sure if it's a design flaw or just an issue with my unit, but the top cover doesn't close all the way and there's some steam escaping from the edge.
I would recommend this to a friend

The Oyama CFS-F10B All Stainless Steel 5 Cup Rice Cooker is an excellent rice cooker. I have been using it on a regular basis for 6 weeks and I have not experienced any problems or issues such as boil over, leaking seals or burned rice. It is well designed and very easy to use. A rice maker is the easiest method of cooking rice. They are worth having even if you only occasionally cook rice.
Clean up on the Oyama is very easy. I have never had problems cleaning the stainless steel bowl. There is usually a small crust of rice on the bottom that comes right off after a soak in water for a few minutes. The stainless steel interior bowl is well designed. My last rice cooker had a Teflon coating and got scratched up after using it for a while.
The Oyama stainless steel rice cooker is a great value compared to other rice cookers that are much more expensive. I bought the Oyama online from Best Buy for 59.99 plus tax. Shipping was free since I picked it up at their store. Buy the Aroma Simply Stainless rice cooker if you want a cheaper unit. The Aroma does not have a locking lid. I prefer a locking lid. A locking lid will keep rice warm for a very long time although I have not tested out Oyama’s 24 hour claim.
It has never boiled over no matter how much rice I use, even if I do not rinse the rice beforehand. I have tested it with a variety of rice types, including rices with high starch content. The overflow valve works perfectly. Be careful not to place your hand over the vent while cooking since it releases hot steam.
THE SECRET TO PREVENT ANY RICE COOKER FROM BOILING OVER IS TO USE EQUAL AMOUNTS OF RICE AND WATER.
The rice cooker can hold 4.5 cups of unwashed rice and 4.5 cups of water. 20 minutes later you get 9 cups of perfectly cooked rice. Oyama makes a larger capacity rice cooker if you need more rice..
You can also use it to cook other foods with the rice or use the included steamer insert to cook the other foods separate.
I have read other online reviews claiming to have problems with this unit but I have not had any problems with the Oyama CFS-F10B All Stainless Steel 5 Cup Rice Cooker. I highly recommend it.
